Sage & Black Tea Renew

Heavy on the Clary Sage, this one. Out of all the tea scents I've tried though, this one gets closest to that tannic quality and the subtle, malty powderiness of tea, but overdosed with a clary sage EO and a bit of bergamot. A much truer tea note than all the big name "tea" fragrances out there, imo. Very astringent from the beginning, with star anise bringing out the sharpness of the clary sage. Bergamot provides a fresh transparency, but don't be fooled by "bergamot" and "tea"—this is not in any way Earl Grey. It is an herbal and perfumed black tea. I get rooibos vibes as well. I'm strongly reminded of a tea blend from Mariage Freres, thought I can't quite pin point which one right now... I always appreciate when perfumes have a touch of bitter realism when they attempt to replicate a scent, rather than making an easy "perfume" version. Wonderfully surprised by this original from a primarily dupe house. Hope they can continue in this direction instead.

smelling this makes me feel like I’m spending a day at the spa and sipping on a refreshing iced tea. it’s clean, refreshing, and earthy with a touch of woody spice. the black tea note is spot on—it reminds me of the mornings I spent with my grandmother, who always started her day with a glass of english breakfast tea. I’ve honestly never smelled a fragrance that brings up such a pleasant, nostalgic, relaxing feeling. I only have full-sized bottles of very feminine fragrances right now, but I think this is going to end up being the first unisex addition to my collection! the scent lasts a long time on my skin, so hopefully I can make my sample last a while <3

A scent that stole my heart. It's cheerful and dry at the same time. A classy fragrance with a green freshness. When I wear it, I smell a scent I know very well. It's the interior of a flower shop—lots of fresh greenery, water in buckets, plus a light, undefined floral scent. Perhaps with a hint of freesia, but hidden beneath the greenery. I don't smell brewed tea. I smell a calming flower shop. It's not overtly floral, and therefore unique because it's very versatile. Longevity is good. Of course, I like to touch it up several times a day with a mini satellite, but I can smell the scent all around me. A fragrance that brightens the day.

This initial phase maintains a decent presence before gradually softening. The fragrance then transitions into a comforting and distinctive dry down, where the initial tea note softens, allowing the herbal and subtly earthy character of sage to become more apparent, imparting a velvety softness. The lingering essence of tea and the now more subdued spices blend harmoniously, creating a warm and unique final impression. While not a powerhouse, the longevity is commendable for a more relaxed fragrance, typically lasting for a respectable few hours on the skin, evolving subtly as it wears. It creates a comforting personal bubble rather than a room-filling statement.

I'm in love with the uniqueness of this scent. I love anything with black tea. It's spicy but not too sweet because the earthy sage prevents this from being a sweet perfume although it has a measure of sweetness. However, I'm afraid that after awhile, probably 30 minutes to several hours I find that I am smelling Off bug spray and I am hoping it's not this perfume but I think it is. Sadly so because I love the initial bouquet. Overall a nice experience though.

This perfume is highly potent with a heavy herbal tea aroma and a bitter, strong scent. I encountered it in a Miami hotel lobby. It only exudes a luxurious feel after several hours during the drydown; initially, the smell strikes as intense and harsh.

This is like a strong super tannic iced black tea with citrus and herbs. It’s a clean, unisex, spa kind of scent. While I find it refreshing and appropriate for summer, the palo santo and sage are quite prominent and make this lean more masculine and more grounded somehow than other tea scents, like Green Tea for example. My biggest issue is that after while I get a bug spray scent from this, and I’m not sure what note it’s coming from. I thought maybe it was the sage but I get the same thing from the Being Frenshe bergamot cedar body spray so maybe it’s the bergamot? I don’t think everyone will have that experience though so it’s worth a try if you like tea scents, especially at such an affordabe price.

The first two times I tried this it was so strong that it gave me a headache. I did get used to it, but I would honestly rather use this as a room spray than wear it. The longevity is also a bit disappointing, considering how strongly it starts out. It's definitely a gender neutral scent and I'd say it would be good for spring/summer. It smells like an essential oil blend to me; green, herby and citrusy without leaning bitter or sour. The tea is an afterthought, if you can catch it at all (I only can when I huff it straight from my skin), and the "warm spice" notes aren't even in the room. It's fine, and would probably work well for someone else. As is, I wouldn't repurchase.

Very clean, genuinely unisex earthy scent that does not rely on sandalwood. The bergamot opening makes it a little too soap-y for me, but the middle is a very pleasant clove / tea mix. Feels like what you’d wear to office hours, or as the niche expert in something in academia. Or at the very least, it’s a gym-scent. It takes a certain kind of person to pull this scent off and I am unfortunately not one of them.

It's a really basic fresh sweet tea fragrance along the lines of many tea, or green tea, based fragrant products such as cleaners or room spray. It does really last, and projects pretty strongly. I wear it after a shower and just hanging around the house wanting to smell clean and fresh... It gets an "OK."

it starts off honestly kinda gross and loud... eventually it sits down into a more muted and tolerable scent where you can smell the tea part of it. I don't really smell and sage and it certainly does not give the relaxed vibe that i expected.

This smells EXACTLY as described. Intense tea, lots of sage. Very creamy. It's giving "reading books by the window in the rain." Fall or Spring. Nice, but not something I'm obsessed with.

I love a spring time fresh herbal scent, as long as it's not too hippy, essential oil, or medspa. This is all 3 of those things. Not for me. Definitely gender neutral and has lasting power. I find the sage and the tea most prevalent, with a cool spice behind it. This smells like a family friend's house that doesn't smell good or bad, but it's familiar and distinct. Kind of dryer sheet-ish. Wouldn't wear.

Smells exactly like dill. All it needs is some garlic and it’d smell like dill pickles. I usually love bergamot, cinnamon, clove, violet, and cardamom so I blame the other notes for my dislike. I’ve never smelled any anise, sage, nor tea that smells like this fragrance. So sharp and a little headache-inducing.

Whoever said this smells like rubber pool tools in the drydown is right. What is that artificial, strong, burned synthetic rubber smell? I wish I could like this.

No maturation/oxidation(maceration) needed. Dossier's Sage and Black Tea Renew-- has a dry contemplative dark warmth, and is oily herby tea scent that drys down into a v sheer powdery herbal tea scent without losing staying power. A good meditative and grounding scent for late summer and onwards into the winter. It is the perfect cozy scent, imo, bc it is v balanced. Sage/BT is not muddy, boozy, or heavy with cloying loud musks, risque leather, ambery-resin overloads, drying salts, overpowering woods/oud, loud or attention-seeking flowers, or sugary vanilla gourmand facets. Sage & Black Tea Renew does not dry down weird. The lack of oakmoss, vetiver, and patchouli means the scent doesn't change face towards the end. It retains their notes to the end, some notes remain stronger like the eponymous Sage/BT. It can be considered linear, perhaps, but not a straight-shot. Swirls a bit like the tea scent in a small tea shop when you browse the wares or someone walks by or opens the door.

One of my new favorites and the quickest I have used up a bottle Overall impression is that of black tea sweetened a little bit with honey or agave but this is complex enough that in my opinion, it does not read immediately as that to average person and is suitable to those who do not like gourmands. I'm forever in pursuit of ways to make more unisex scents that are safe enough for mass appeal yet interesting enough for me. I'm someone who becomes noseblind to other notes if there is musk present most of the time and I often find a lot of male and unisex scents I buy in my price range are just that. Ever since Hanae Mori HiM went up way in price I've been using a spritz of this with more Encre Noire as my go-to cheapie duo for dates/similar. A little of this goes a long way and has decent lasting power. I think it can function almost like a floral but it has this nice depth and warmth (without being amber) to it that complements darker and colder perfumes well.

Very unisex and herbal. I'd like this better as a room spray. From the bottle it smells like fresh cut grass and citrus. The citrus leans too much into cleaner territory. It's like drinking weak tea in a freshly cleaned kitchen while burning a sage incense. I barely get tea. It's not scrub worthy, but I won't be keeping it.
