Windsor Eau de Toilette

This is a great barbershop type scent. Very classy, pairs great with a navy suit just right after having finished a clean shave with the matching shaving soap (awesome tallow and glycerin base btw). The packaging lists a few more notes than mentioned in the perfume pyramid here... sweet orange, nutmeg, pepper, elemi, geranium, patchouli, vetiver I do not get woodsy notes out of this however I am not sure about the leather... Maybe a bit mature smelling right after application, also a bit short lived and I am sure it is not meant to be a loud scent (classy do not need to scream). I am okay with that and the freshness and the comfort it gives.

Windsor is a woody take on a classic cologne. Plenty of Neroli and petitgrain up front which gives way to a subtly peppery woody vetiver. It's a great all-round fragrance, good for after the morning shave or a night on the town. It's fresh and light enough for a hot summer day, but with enough woody warmth to play well in a cool rain or while cozying up on a cold winter night. Simply a classic masculine fragrance that stays fairly close to the skin and goes anywhere from casual to dressy. One of my favorites at the moment because of its simplicity, and the fact that it just smells really good.

I don’t have a normal way of saying this in “perfume language”. Maybe one of the best scents I’ve ever smelled. Something about this makes me feel deep obsession and makes my insides jump out my skin.

It's similar to Terre d'Hermes, but nearly identical to Erbario Toscano Peppe Nero. Love it.

This is harsh, a citrus blast that reminds me of Citra Solv doesn't go away until the very end; then there are 15 glorious minutes of relief, a lovely almondy/musk skin scent. I also started getting headaches. My daughter walked in and wanted to know why the room smelled of cleaning supplies. I tried to like this, using small amounts, layered with Azarro PH is not bad but still get headaches. I really wanted to like this for a daytime EdT, but sadly I have to let it go. Luckily I only bought the 30ml bottle. Edit: as another reviewer wrote I have to find the right balance. I had used a spray and that was too much even when spraying lightly, instead (a couple of days later) I dabbed it on (small dabs) and found the grapefruit/orange/pepper.more bearable. I don't find a distinct wood/vetiver scent, but its presence does help smooth the citrus. After some time it balances out even a bit more and I get a sense of a slight floral tinge. It really is quite nice. Edit #2: For this to work as a scent on my skin I don't spray or dab, I splash a good amount on my hands, rub them together then apply as needed. Then I pick up the floral/wood/leather with the light citrus. Enjoyable, however still get headaches.

Spicy, vetiver, woody, peppery...British. Nice but nothing extraordinary. Pleasant after shave I'd use if I had it but not something I pine for. EDIT (7/12/2024): I'll add to the notes a hint of tobacco and hint of english proper powderiness. I'll raise my ratings tho to 7.5 from a 7. I'd definitely enjoy this. Reminds me a bit of Cella's aftershave which I love. Good for all four seasons. Scent: 7.5 / Sillage: 5 / Longevity: 5

I will admit up front I have never smelled actual Terre d'Hermes, but I have smelled scents that were inspired by it, and DR Harris Windsor is definitely in that group if you ask me. I get citrus and vetiver primarily. Very pleasing scent, and it makes for a nice aftershave (albeit a little costly). I would also agree a scent like this is very versatile and could be worn in all seasons and in any setting.

This is a virbrant summer sent, and my fravorite D.R. Harris fragrance so far. Reminds me of a hot day by the lake. Great to use even in winter to lighten your mood. If you like vetiver sents, you must try this.

Windsor is the finest of the D.R. Harris fragrances. The long lasting, close to skin scent starts with a warm citrus scent melding into a spicy base of vetiver and leather. Very nice, Very conservative

Pleasant but not breathtaking. The shave cream actually smells better. Best way to describe this is to say if you like Terre d'Hermes, then this is almost identical to it!

EDIT: Below is my original review. I decided to give it another try. I applied 1 spray fresh out of the shower, and had better results than before. For whatever reason, the fragrance didn’t come off as strong when I applied it following a shower (as opposed to later in the day.). I detected more of a “fresh” scent this time (before was more akin to potpourri that had been sitting out for a while.). In any case, I feel like I can enjoy this fragrance after all, but I would still be careful about applying too much; one spray is enough for me. Any more than that, and I think it would come on too strong with that old potpourri vibe I picked up when first trying it. ——————————————— (Original review): I purchased this fragrance recently; I've been experimenting with more old world, gentlemanly, classic fragrances. I wanted to try Floris 89, Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylor cologne, and DR Harris Windsor Eau de Toilette. I love the first two, but having tried DR Harris Windsor, I'm not sure that I would purchase this again. It's not that it's a bad scent. The initial application does come on a little strong, almost like a cleaning supply closet, but after about 15 minutes it settles into a sort of floral/fresh cut grass vibe, with some wood scent in the background. It's ok, but smells very old; it reminds me of walking into a restored Victorian-era house that has been turned into a museum, but you can still smell the sort of "oldness" of the home and furniture. It is a more of a natural-smelling fragrance, not synthetic at all, but I find I prefer something a bit more "powdery" than what I'm getting off of DR Harris. So it's ok if you're into this sort of old-world smell, but this is a little too old for my taste.

Too much pepper. Could have been a great fragrance but the pepper dominates the other notes. Smells like an orange peel buried under a pound of black pepper.

Windsor is an amazingly versatile scent from a classic British house known more for their shaving line; which I love ! I in my shaving website I feature this scent fairly often. I compare it to a combination of the citrus aromatic properties of Arlington married to the masculine woodsy scent of Marlborough both from D.R. Harris & co. Essentially Windsor is the baby of Arlington and the later Marlborough. Extremely versatile and a year round fragrance that is not inappropriate in any, and also appeals to multiple venues be it casual to a more distinguished formal event due to the woodsy aromatic notes, playfully while classy on the right man. I would re come d all three DRH fragrances, but if your on the fence for a blind buy you are very safe with Windsor.

Smells like a leathery version of Terre d'Hermes with similar note of vetiver and black pepper but with more grapefruit (rather than orange) and lots of leather. It's actually a pretty fantastic old-world vetiver fragrance. Being a lover of old-world masculine fragrances, this is one of my favourites an definitely full-bottle worthy. Sillage and longevity are both moderate leaning strong. If you like vetiver with citrus and leather, this is perfect. In my complete and honest opinion, this is far superior to Terre d'Hermes (both parfum and EDT versions) due to having more citrus fruits than just orange, more pepper, the note of leather, and better longevity than both TdH's. 4.5/5

I don't have the EDT but I do own the aftershave of this scent and it's great. Really good quality and definitely one of the best aftershaves I own. Scent wise, its sillage and longevity is not far off EDT strength and lasts around 4-5 hours. I can only assume that the EDT performs as well, if not better. I've been guilty of splashing on too much of this and it projected heavily on my commute to work. Now I've found the balance for sensible application, it's a lovely, classy scent that's unlikely to offend anyone. D.R. Harris is not a brand I see too often but after wearing this, I'd definitely sample other products in their line.

I've only sampled a tester wipe/sachet, but as soon as I opened the packet I couldn't help but think this has an uncanny resemblence to Terre D'Hermes EDT. Perhaps I can't comment on the longevity, seeing as this was just a tester, but I'd suggest that the sillage is moderate, after receiving a couple of comments. I find this is a pleasant scent.

A very Austere and Astute scent. Clean vetiver with light but assertive citruses along with leather and woods. A faint black pepper note which ties the scent together IMO. A very well blended perfume and is a great signature scent.
