Vanille Camouflage

I'm in love. So so good. It took me forever to pull the trigger. Okay, two days, which is forever when love at first sniff. The performance is quite....soft. The opening is very shortlived and I love the opening. I imagine It's not for everyone. Opening: Stems of greens, as realistic as it gets. If anyone told me freshy cut grass, he would get no argument from me. But the opening also contains vanilla sweetness and fuzzyness. The sweetness is like gypsy water's sweetness, maybe a hair less. It's there but not overly sweet which is why I love this so so much. The drydown reminds me of eau duelle. It's basicly the same soft woody non gourmand vanilla and I love it. (ISO e super or some variant) There is still some green left, but it's faint. The green stays put better on clothes, but still. The bottle is 295 EUR which is why it took me two days to pull the trigger. It's overpriced for it's performance. This is barely edt performance. Got a compliment today from a patiënt. He said I smelled cozy but also said (after I inquired about it) that it's very soft. The bottle is the prettiest bottle I have ever seen, but I agree with another reviewer, we're def paying for the pretty bottle as well. This should be about 100 EUR less. 50 if i'm optimistic. Still....happy I own it. Will probably repurchase. Never smelled Angelique Noir but imagine Aura by Mugler in niche version. So, not loud, but rounded and fluffy, no synthetic overly sweet greens but realistic stems and a soft cozy woody vanilla instead of vanilla extract for baking. Aura got me nausiated badly so gave that one away years ago. Too strong. Hope this helps. PS this is clean, no stinky musky ambermax/ambrofix base. Some additional info: when I smell the nozzle of Parisian Musc which I own and love (another love at first sniff) and the nozzle of Vanille Camouflage, they smell remarkably similar while they are quite different scents when worn. I think they share a similar green note and similar level of musky sweetness.

I received a sample of this with purchase from the DVN site. Wow does this open up green! Guerlain Angelique Noire, Celine Dans Paris, Chloe Vanille Planifolia, any other green vanilla you can think of- none of them come close. It is hyper realistic and, in my opinion, very beautiful. After about 10 or so minutes the overwhelmingly green aspects calm down and the vanilla is most prominent. I do continue to get a greenness in the background, especially if I move a hand or my nose comes close to any areas I spray directly. The majority of the time wearing this I got a woody powdery vanilla with a green touch. I would say this is totally unisex, not a gourmand vanilla but it does have a sweetness to it. I really enjoy this scent and will probably spring for a full bottle... this is the kind of scent family that I wear often. That being said it is definitely overpriced. If this is similar to a scent you may already have in your collection (I would say Celine Dans Paris is the closest that comes to mind for me), or a scent profile you don't reach for as often this could be easy to pass on. I also don't place as much importance on performance- but if that is something you are interested, I would say this is a lighter more intimate wearing perfume. I may hold off until this becomes available at the department stores and see if they have a promotion this holiday season.

I’m happy to report that the Dries Van Noten travel spray set appears to be back up on their site—I just ordered a set with this as one of my three sprays. I got a sample of this when ordering a full size of Soie Malaquais and have been obsessed with it since. It’s so soft and warm, and delicious without being sweet. It also kind of smells like unscented lotion, which I personally like. I see other people saying this smells very green, but I don’t get much of that. For me, it’s mostly soft vanilla spice, with that unscented lotion element in the background. If their full bottles weren’t so incredibly expensive, I would have gotten this in the full size. As it is, I’m happy to try this one for longer with a travel spray (alongside two favorites from the discovery set: Raving Rose and Rock the Myrrh). If I finish the spray, I’ll probably get the full size the next time my budget allows. I think I might like this one even more than Soie Malaquais. Also, I agree with the commenter below me who says we don’t need to give DVN any ideas about making the travel sprays more expensive. They are plenty expensive as is, if you ask me!

As a more mature woman in search of a summer scent which was neither citrus-forward nor masculine-leaning ( and no matter how often my favourite influencer Demi Rawling is raving about Louis Vuitton fragrances or Sospiro`s Vibrato they are not my thing) this one caught my attention. It is not a blind buy to be sure because of the price point (I was lucky to get it with a good discount code) but is definitively worth trying.The opening green notes are very refreshing,not harsh,the Galbanum being prominent in a good way.When the vanilla comes through the scent becomes truly beautiful because the vanilla here is full bodied and only slightly sweet and blends perfectly with the green notes.It is rounded by a smooth creamy sandalwood and has spicy balsamic undertones too.I wore it on a warm sunny late summer day for a long walk and could smell it all the time around me and the longevity is at leats 10 hours.I even got complemented at work from a colleague who doesn`t like sweet strong scents,she told me ,,this is the type of vanilla I like"...well, me too!

This is my favorite of the new 2024 releases. Green in the most beautiful way, as it is tempered by the fruit of fig and soft yet substantial florals. This is not a grassy green to my nose rather it is a soft green that melds with the vanilla. It’s fresh and lush. Beautiful. I loved it in all its phases with the beginning being my favorite as you catch distinctly all the facets of the scent. By the end you still feel the dimensions but they’ve melded together in a soft, somewhat green vanilla. I love it. Update: I wear Vanille Camouflage often. It’s easy to wear, delicious, and has a sex appeal (in a reserved way). Big thumbs up. My favorite DVN.
