My third favourite of the DvN fam. A smoky herbal that manages to come off clean, sweet, and faintly metallic. (But not like a vape pen! It’s giving more soft hookah). Would happily wear either day or night. The rosemary adds a subtle bite of spice. I find natural rosemary an overpowering scent (which also only makes me think of grilled chicken), but for some reason I loved it in this fragrance. Also I think this was supposed to be the rebellious/rockstar scent of the bunch, but I didn’t catch much of the cannabis. It’s there on first spritz, but quickly evanesces. Blessedly, nothing skunky about this one. Longevity: about 6h on skin and clothes; I worked out in this scent and it lasted for a very out-of-shape 5k! Mental Snapshot: You’re looking across the Mojave chaparral at midnight from the vantage of your glass-panelled loft. There’s not a soul around, save for a handsome android in your kitchen, preparing you a nightcap. tl;dr: modern shisha lounge 🤖💨

A fantastic take on cannabis, doesn't smell danky and animalic like most cannabis based fragrances do, the first spray is like rubbing a fresh cannabis leaf close to ur nose OR passing through a tomato plantation. Very fresh, green and natural smelling. Absolutely love the scent, as I am always chasing natural smelling green fragrances. If you are too, this is a must TRY, but try only. I don't think the price tag on it justifies the very weak performance. But..... it's very close to a damp green forest in a bottle. It can be one of those fragrances which you can enjoy while having a You-time, it is that way to me though. Won't recommend over spraying it to get some performance out of it, as it's not really a crowd pleaser nor an attention grabber in a good way.

I like it a lot. I swear I can smell fresh tobacco leafs. This is a very addictive scent. For me this DEF leans masculine although i would wear it. It's aromatic, calming (must be the cannabis, lol) a bit smoky and very very sexy. Reminds me of Haze and You or Someone like you (I Prefer Haze out of those two) but more masculine and cozy. There's a hint of sweetness to it. Like a tobacco leaf has that aspect as well. Oooff....10/10 And I don't even like smoke or patch in a fragrance, go figure. Husband's getting a bottle whether he likes it or not.

Could be primarily described as “mossy and earthy”. Does it remind me on an old basement? Yes. Does it also smell herby, complex, and unique? 100%. I don’t immediately pick up on the cannabis notes. In my experience, it opens with a sour pinch of rosemary, drying down to classic patchouli, and grounded by the woodiness of the cedar and sandalwood. The woody, herbaceous notes of the mastic blend everything beautifully. Though it can be pungent, it’s so smooth. I use it on its own with traditionally masculine outfits.

Voodo Chile is my favorite from Dries Van Noten line along with Soie Malaquias. The composition is built around rosemary and patchouli notes according to the brand but its so much more complex and exciting. I get some slight cannabis note which adds dimension and slight sharpness. The top notes might be a little bit sharp but wait a little bit and the magic happens once it settles down. Great longevity and projection on my skin and very fun wear experience. Highly recommended!

HUMID. Wet hot cannabis rosemary patchouli and unburnt incense. Somehow both filthy and clean, like taking an herbal shower and then immediately sitting back down on your comfy dirty incense-soaked couch to smoke weed. Strange but familiar, and extremely wearable both day or night. Lasts 4+ hours on moisturized skin, 10+ on clothes. Layers really nicely with Crazy Basil from the same house.

This is a gorgeous scent, I’ve never smelt a designer perfume so unique and elevated. (No pun intended) the cannibas is very faint but that rosemary mixed with the mastic and cedar is incredibly posh. It’s unreal. I’m addicted to this scent. It’s clean and woody but has this sort of cashmere like quality to it as well. I’ll be buying a full bottle of this.
- em inglês
Woah, this is cannabis and dense creamy sandalwood in beast mode projection and sillage. It's very powerful stuff. "Cannabis Patchouli" from the range does not contain any cannabis notes yet this one does.
- em inglês
Tested this on skin and I just love it. Perhaps I've misinterpreted Chile for Chilli haha but I could really smell fresh chilli peppers. Green and smoky. Drydown was earthy and comforting.
- em inglês
reminds me of gris charnel or remember me. I like it, it smells like tea not weed
- em inglês
This scent is chic as hell. The bottle is next level beautiful, too.

Voodoo Chile opens with a sharp‐but‐smooth green flash — an herbal strike that feels alive, almost electric. It’s the kind of green that doesn’t tip into bitterness; instead, it’s clean, aromatic, and confidently vivid. From the very first breath, you can tell the blend is masterful. Nothing feels accidental. As it settles, the fragrance begins its real journey. The green sharpness softens into something aromatic and tea‐like, a multi‐layered evolution where every sniff reveals a new facet. One moment it’s herbal and earthy, the next it’s airy and almost meditative, like steam rising from a cup of dark tea. It’s dimensional, textured, and quietly complex — the kind of scent that rewards attention. Now, is it my scent? No — not quite. It leans a little more masculine on my skin than I prefer, and the herbal backbone stays present enough that I don’t fully settle into it but might be perfect for my guy. But can I appreciate the craftsmanship, the journey, and the creative intent? Absolutely. This is a perfect creative‐day spritz — something to wear when I want to be intrigued, when I want a fragrance to keep me company while I work, think, or wander. It’s atmospheric in a way that feels like a story unfolding. And honestly? I might try it on my man. What leans masculine on me might turn magnetic on him.

Don't you dare to invoke the late, great, Jimi Hendrix and have this be a shitty, boring fragrance Dries!!! Just don't! Good news!!!! :) I really liked this one. Woohoo!!! Voodoo chile is a patchouli with attitude. Smells like blackcurrant or juniper and sloes (sloe gin basically then) or something like that? Then you get the sweetness of the herbal note (says rosemary) all atop a really banging hippie, but also refined, patchouli. I thought it was clever enough and did things. All the surrounding stuff gives great compliment to the focal point. I like it!
- em inglês
Surprised to see how little reviews this one has, because for me this is the best fragrance from the line, even though I was not expecting it at all. Unlike cannabis and patchouli, Voodoo Chili actually smells like extremely cosy, creamy cannabis and patchouli with some sandalwood. I feel like this wraps around you like a blanket. It's unusual and delicious, spicy and warm and deep and green and at the same time. A little bit of sharpness comes and goes through the creaminess to add excitement. Perfect for winter and cold autumn.

the opening of this is verrrrryyy rosemary and green, and a little too bitter and green for my nose. BUT THE DRY DOWN. i wish was the entire fragrance. it dries down a lot sweeter, smelling like an edible (like a literal edible if you know what i mean) chocolate with a little hazy greeness poking through, almost in a hookah way. if this fragrance was just the dry down i would loveeee it. but the opening i don't love on skin or on clothes and that makes it not worthy for a full bottle. still a really cool fragrance.
- em inglês
I didn't expect to like this one based on the notes and other's people's opinion's, but I do enjoy it. It's a bit zingy, and you can pick up the cannabis, but it's not a sticky, funky pot note; it's actually quite pleasing. It's not an obvious cannabis like DVN Cannabis Patchouli; it's in the background, but you can't quite put your finger on it. It certainly could be considered unisex. I don't know if i would splurge on a whole bottle, but I do like it.
- em inglês
I actually enjoy this a lot. Idk if it’s my skin or something but I don’t get that much cannabis. Maybe some greenness in the opening but that’s it. What I get is warm sandalwood, lots of it (the kind they use in Gris charnel extract). Also lots of patchouli. Really nice scent basically what I’m left with on my skin is sandalwood warm and creamy and slightly spicy, and tons of warm patchouli.
- em inglês
I have to admit – I quite like this. It's a bit loud, and a bit extravagant in performance and style – meaning longevity and projection is just great. Settles into a very comfortable lush-green sandalwood. It has a fresh energy about it. It's very green, in a lush-hazy-cannabis sort of way. 'Hazy-green' fresh, if that makes any sense. Unisex. It's very nice. 7/10.
- em inglês
Delicious herbal scent with a strong hint of cannabis plant and turpentine. The sweet turpentine retreats, however, and you are left with a woody/cannabis scent. Fun perfume, but not something you want in your inventory. This must be something more for young larks/hipsters.
- em inglês
the notes maybe sound appealing to a man, to me they didn't, but I am surprisingly into this scent it is aromatic and fresh-bitter but has a nice depth with patchouli and resins and rosemary also smth floral and soft, no sharp edges I had expected
- em inglês
I think it smells like oolong tea.

I got the disovery set and the power of discounts and marketing made me then feel obliged to buy a full bottle of something Dries. I tested them all but somehow ended up a bit obsessed with Voodoo Chile, despite the initial spray reading to me as stale sweat, Perhaps the Rosemary playing tricks on my nose, It does settle into something really quite sexual, kind of like making out on the dancefloor of a nightclub, and that tempted me into the full bottle. I guess theres a fine line with pheromones! However, since getting it I still cant bring my self to risk that Initial 'rosemary-ala-sweat' smell and I spend the day paranoid people think I have B.O. My partner isn't a fan either which isn't ideal, so when I wore it last I layered a few sweeter scents on top to calm my fears and I think it was alright. Absolutely test it out thoroughly first because I doubt I'll ever finish this bottle.
- em inglês
On my skin, it opens with a resinous/fig leaf sweetness that quickly mixes with a herbal patchouli and creamy woods. With time, it develops a sharpness without losing a balsamic and warm quality. It's good, one of my favourites from the line but i can't hope to be disappointed. With such distinct bottles and knowing the complex and layered universe that Dries presents to us, I was expecting the fragrances would be equally unique but, to me, they are not. They are predictable, only scratching at the surface, familiar in a sense that i smelled these combinations before, like a collection of existing formulas and not the exploration of new ones. There is a certain laziness that bothers me and doesn't match with the brand... or maybe i just had very high expectations.

This fragrance is a deceiver! Having also just tried DVN’s Canabis Patchouli, this one really deserved that title. This fragrance opens dank, bitter, green, camphoraceous, herbal, borderline inky. It’s overpowering, masculine, nearly vintage barbershop. The opening turns me off enough to know I’d never commit to a full bottle. The drydown though... creamy, sweet, balsamic sandalwood, with a velvety ionone musk. There is something static-y here. I get hints of a probably expired rollerball of CK Euphoria, almost like the smell of laundry fresh from the dryer, warm and cozy, enveloping. Not my favorite from the collection, and I agree with reviews below that had the drydown been the full fragrance, I’d get behind it
- em inglês
Soothing Vicks vaporub embracing a sharp patchouli and rosemary core, this fragrance doesn't *sound* appealing in theory but in reality it's not terrible. I kept checking the notes shown on the website for tonka, and find myself in agreement with the balsam Gris Charnel comparisons among the reviews. The sillage is quite powerful, lasting a good 6-7 hours. I got tired of the scent bubble on one of the three occasions I've worn the scent, but the other two times I didn't notice it as much. My personal skin chemistry doesn't carry it too well, though there is nothing that really clashes or falls out of balance. It just doesn't shine like it could on someone that can carry a true oud, or animalic perfume.
- em inglês
Herbal rosemary and earthy sandalwood. I don’t have too much more to say as this doesn’t inspire much in me. Once it becomes a skin scent, there is a nice soapy-sweetness, kind of like Irish Spring bath soap. However the patchouli keeps it a bit too masculine on my skin. It’s a good fragrance, but I don’t think it’s the standout in this line.
- em inglês
this isn't just an ordinary fragrance or a masculine aftershave cologne with patchouli and rosemary. dries van noten has something unique about this scent, as is the case with all it's fragrances. as someone who doesn't particularly like cannabis, this is one of the very rare cannabis scents i've enjoyed.
- em inglês
Weedish. It is mostly patchouli but with some rosemary and mastic/woodiness. The cannabis doesnt smell much like smoked weed, it is a fresher green and herbal note. pretty good
- em inglês
I've inferred by trying multiple Dries samples that the general vibe is demure, creamy, wearable, and sophisticated, and this is that. It's a trick of fragrance design that synthetic spicy notes don't necessarily engage the chemesthesis pathways (heat/pain receptors), so pepper, cinnamon, etc. can smell like themselves and also strangely muted and fireless. This, like the other Dries scents, seems to start with specific notes and then Bob Ross -fashion blend, blend, blends them to the point where they are seamless and no longer recognizable individually. This one falls in line with the line as kinda herbal, kinda ganja, kinda peppery, kinda acorny, but really just itself, while also coming across as both clean and fresh. It's unmistakably perfume. I can appreciate this style without particularly liking it. The end result, particularly compared to the name, is a very safe version of edginess... the *idea* of edginess. King Cobra by Zoologist, safe as it is, by contrast smells *identical* to marijuana, and there are plenty of dark, spicy fragrances that would be edgy even at the clerb. Voodoo Chile would not be edgy even in a board room. It's like a slow walk in the woods with someone with a faint trace of Terre d'Hermes on their clothes from the day before, with a pot plant or two a few steps off the path. This one is a pass for me, not because there's anything wrong with it, but just because it's out of synch with my personality and anticipated use cases. My version of a "board room" scent would be something like French Lover, which is far sharper, far stronger, but ultimately masculine and distinctive, with a pleasing evolution. TL;DR For those familiar with Hermessence Poivre Samarcande, this is like a smoother, greener, sweeter take on that scent, that fixes some of PS's rough edges but also mutes some of its magic.

Smells beautiful on strip but turns absolutely rancid on my skin Unfortunate because I adore the smell on paper :(
- em inglês
Sprayed it on the tester and liked it, then I sprayed it on my skin and it smelled like B.O. :|

The top and middle notes all seem to hit with full force right from the opening. Rosemary + Patchouli + Cannabis + Mastic = Amazing. However without reading the notes, I found this bizarre blend mostly unidentifiable, ...but definitely intriguing. Though to be honest, entertaining my eccentric self with a few sprays on my wrist is not the same thing as wearing this out and about at a crowded social occasion. If others smell this without an introduction, they might be shocked. ...but that is true for so many curiously memorable fragrances. Regardless, if you enjoy odd scents, you might well enjoy this. Give it a try. Edit: (Don't) compare with DvN's Cannabis Patchouli fragrance, which ironically/inexplicably does NOT contain any cannabis note.
- em inglês
Unlike Cannabis Patchouli this one has a distinct cannabis smell but as the fuzzy part of the plant. The rosemary gives it a little spice while the woody notes make it a tad sweeter and powdery. I would say CP is more male leaning (has this barbershop vibe) while this is definitely more female- light, sweet-sour and earthy. Boy, my skin love this brand. I have already tested 9 of their perfumes and can honestly use any of them. They are sophisticated and interesting and I would definitely be expanding my DVN collection! Wow!
- em inglês
Tons of rosemary and patchouli. I also get sage and oregano. Ha! maybe some other herbs and cannabis. I think it is an interesting scent, for the experience, but not something I desire to wear. Update: To my surprise, the very late drydown (>5 hours after initial application) reveals a powdery, cosy scent that is sweet and slightly spicy. No green notes at this point. I don't know what it is but at that stage is just beautiful.
- em inglês
The opening of this was hard for me as I got a lot of cumin and heat. The opening is like cooking smells. I love the middle and base notes. On my skin I get a very sweet cannabis and cedar with a tiny tiny bit of rosemary. it’s so mysterious and unlike anything else i’ve smelled. This is truly genderless, there is nothing about it that makes your brain place it in a gender binary.
- em inglês
It smells like outside. Like glamping in the summer in the company of bohemians with bougie aspirations. The patchouli is strong at the open but it dries down to a sweet, slightly smoky skin scent. I don’t get rosemary very strongly— which is too bad because fresh rosemary is a smell that I love — but there is a general green ness present from open to dry down.
- em inglês
Testing from one of their dabber samples. A really beautiful fragrance in the end! However, I got a strong cumin-like note in the beginning which wasn't "quite" body odor but came close. That does fade and then it becomes a sweet-ish patchouli dominant fragrance that I didn't think projected very well. Really pleasant, though.
- em inglês
Ugh. A bold green weed note, flanked by essential oil like rosemary & cold earthy patchouli. This is surrounded by a non-identifiable and artificial shisha bar like sweet fruity aura. That's not my fragrance, I'm a non smoker.
- em inglês
This one smells like weed; more so than cannabis patchouli. The sillage is powerful and starts off spicy and dries down creamy
- em inglês
If you’ve ever attempted making edibles in your oven at home... this is that smell. Decarboxylated weed.
- em inglês
It smells like a balsam that you put on the muscles when they’re strained with patchouli oil.
- em inglês
havent smelled it, and can’t judge it, but its uniqueness alone makes me want it...
- em inglês
Utterly forgettable. Do jimi some more respect and remake this in a proper way
- em inglês
It make wonders. Very cannabis scent, dries down to santal.
- em inglês
incredible. looking for a full bottle if anyone is selling.
- em inglês
Would wear this to a dinner party in cobble hill
