Debaser in Bloom

Gosh this is absolutely sublime. Don’t judge it for a few minutes- let it settle. It’s sweet and warm, the fig is there but it’s jammy and soft rather than fresh and green. There’s something tangy , the currants and raspberry leaf? Some light herbal green nuances and beautifully blended out with the lactonic creamy notes. I’m not getting any rosemary thank god because I can’t bear it, but there is some gentle sweet juniper/conifer? And some lush white florals (the gardenia) tying it all together. The musk is perfect and I’m not a big musk fan. But I wouldn’t be without it here. It makes this perfume very sensual and rather sexy but not the in your face type. Just enough. The sweetness is just so beautiful. I find this fragrance so comforting yet unique- nothing like anything else in my collection. Lasts for a good 6 hours or more. The tape note is abstract, but I understand it and I’m getting it! I can’t even explain how. That’s the genius of Ds&Durga I guess. I ADORE the original Debaser , and this is so perfectly its more floral cousin. It’s very different but they layer together so well! They don’t cancel each other out- you get all the green of the OG plus the warmth of the flanker. I think my fragrance journey may be complete with these two together. Haha who am I kidding. But these two are on my desert island discs.

surprisingly, i like this more than debaser i think?? the opening was very bright and shocking, likely the rosemary taking center stage, but it is very quickly accompanied by a creamy, sweet fig note; this is where the woodiness comes through, but i wouldn't say that it dominates the fragrance in any way. the base notes are very photorealistic fwiw, but i'm not sure i'd call this a masculine scent. it does run very unisex imo, even more so than the og debaser. it's definitely sweeter and more wearable; the gardenia note somehow turns into a milky jasmine on my skin...i know it's not there but it definitely feels like a jasmine milk tea note somewhere coming through! maybe jasmine milk tea with a fresh fig sweet cream cold foam? very pleasantly surprised and will continue testing <3 crossing my fingers they come out with a pocket perfume version of this one!

I received this as an unexpected free sample with a full bottle order of something else. In theory, I should dislike Debaser in Bloom since currant, fig, and coconut are generally off-putting to me. In reality I adore this perfume. Just goes to show you can’t judge a perfume based on notes and accords. For some oddly specific reason it reminds me of the greenery on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco during springtime, which is a very good smell indeed.

The combination of this earthy, almost minty rosemary, with raspberry leaf and creamy fig makes this fragrance a standout in this wave of redundant, unremarkable, musk based fragrances. It's fruity without being overly sweet and floral in a way that makes it cozy and soothing. This smells fantastic! It's good for any season. I only wish that I could smell the addition of plastic cassette tapes for nostalgia sakes.

Reviewed from a sample! I like this scent. It has a strong opening: spicy, rosemary and floral and a fruity/woody dry down. It reminds me of a spa: incensey, green, sweet and spicy. I love the spa so I like this but it might not be for everyone. It gets sweeter and more subdued as it dries down. I haven’t tried debaser so I don’t know how it compares.

Effortlessly cool. There is definitely a plasticky, slightly musky sharpness to it which does remind me of cassette tapes. Almost leans into leather and that new car smell in my opinion too, with a gorgeous, calming floral and herbaceous base.

I love Fig . Carbone Balmain was so delicious. This perfume is not that but it has this instant dark mist that covers you and it does have a darker ood about it which i like. Being perfume you dont need to spray heaps as it stays on for quite some time. The smell is different. ITs not like a generic perfume you have smelt before. It does have a fundamental smell come through that I cant describe too well. The musk is not strong , the coconut is not strong the fig is maybe stronger with a hint of vanilla. Its a unqiue smell like someones own DNA and it feels like it was made especially for just ME. Its so overpriced I may never actually buy it , or maybe I will buy it once but its not a smell you will forget and you will stand out in a crowd. But you will be noticed as that guy over there that smells so nice I need ot go up to him and just start some conversation to be around him !

I get the berries, cream, and thankfully a lack of coconut! Plus the gardenia isn't obnoxious. I have a tough relationship with white florals and luckily it's kept in check by the herbal juniper and musk. Not getting a lot of fig. It reminds me of a non-alcoholic cocktail with a spring of juniper in the glass. Drinkable! Debaser in Bloom is an unusual combination of notes that somehow come together to create a very wearable fragrance. It's on the sweeter side, and I prefer it to Debaser. Unisex but more femme leaning. It does dry down to be more generic sweet and slightly sour.

It took few wears for me to get to like this, and notice its uniqueness. It is a fresh, green floral, very figgy. Feels like a walk through the late spring/early summer floral garden after the rain in the morning, as the sun warms up the air and all the flowers and leaves start to emit aromatic freshness. As you wear it, creamy fig gets stronger which I really like. Also pretty long lasting. I was sceptic at first but this one grew on me PS 'tape note' just seems like a gimmick

I was surprised by the strength of the white floral note at first - I think I was expecting the rosemary flower note more prominently - but the dry down is extremely creamy fig and coconut. The reviews I've seen saying this has nothing in common with the original Debaser must not have waited long enough to give their review. It's really lovely, and I would love to add this to my collection, but I would have preferred more rosemary in the mix.

Beautiful creamy, fresh fig scent! Purchased a sample for test, but not sure if it is unique enough compared to other sweet, fruity fig fragrances to justify purchasing a full size considering the price point and longevity.

Reminds me of the kind of bougie scones and pastries you get at fancy coffee shops. A rosemary fig coconut scone.

It's boring to me. Smells like nothing but incense. I didn't get any fruit or coconut, maybe a little floral, but more woody than anything. Very sharp until it dries down, then very sweet. No other evolution outside of that. Not a bad scent but also not interesting at all. I haven't tried the original to compare. Decent performance out of 3 sprays, good projection and decently long lasting. IMO it leans masculine but what do I know

The herbaceous and aromatic nature of the rosemary is definitely punchy in the opening and takes centre stage. This settles into a creamy fig and gardenia scent. I don't pick up much of the cream or coconut unfortunately as I think those notes would do well at rounding out some of the sharper edges. This is a mature smelling feminine fragrance. 7/10

Don’t get me wrong it’s nice, although to wear it, I find the it overwhelming after a while and irritating the back of my throat. The current in particular (also, WHERE is my beloved tape note???) is bothering me. I’m getting ready to buy the original debaser, and in a way I’m glad I don’t like In Bloom because it makes it an easy choice lol.

OG Debaser is like fig on steroids... but still somehow very feminine smelling to me. As a guy I do wear it. This to me smells like the masculine version of Debaser. It is a lot woodier, less sweet floral. Seems like I am in the minority opinion on that, but it is what it is (if Debaser is a 0, Premier Figuier is +4 fem, this is -3 fem lol).

This is not bad, but certainly not interesting to me. And to my nose there is no similarity to the og Debaser which I enjoy more. Just a nice creamy floral.

Does not have the same magic to me as the original Debaser. Don’t get me wrong, it is lovely but it doesn’t excite me in the same way.

Aromatic bitter rosemary opening. Then a very slightly sweetened but still green fig with a bitterness and almost mustiness underlying. I didn’t love the original (too stemmy green) and hoped this would be a less green and more floral sweetened fig, but this is in ick-land to me. Somewhere in moldy attic territory sadly.

i’m not a fresh spicy girl, so i knew i wouldn’t love this but i just wanted to smell it. the rosemary is very forward, the gardenia gives a nice floral note- perfect for spring. i don’t get any raspberry or coconut

absolutely horrible fragrance to my nose. I love debaser and I see none of that dna. this smells like a rosemary apothecary scent. scrubber. so glad I sampled first.

an american west coast version of philosykos. if philosykos is a grove of fig trees drifting on a timeless Greek island, debaser in bloom is the San Francisco version of it, a quiet early summers day in the bay area, that same island grove of fig trees and sun sparkling off the water. there's something vintage here too, but 1990 rather than 1000BC -- It has the same nostalgic energy and almost candy-sweetness that glossier you reve has (although the scents are nothing alike), but it's also dusty and sun-bleached and warm. there's very little in common with debaser, which i also love and own -- and have seen described as a fig in a leather jacket, or an andy warhol pop-art fig. this one is much more subdued and vintage, like a faded film photo. i bought this not only because i love an aromatic fig but because of how at home i felt wearing it.

Very pretty. Not so much fruity, but more of a creamy and aromatic white floral. It's only slightly reminiscent of Debaser due to a green fig, but definitely not redundant or jammy like the OG. Perfect for spring and probably really good for people who don't like strong, heady florals.

It smells like fig with powdered sugar and rosemary on top. The gardenia isn’t doing much and I don’t get the tape note. That said, it is a kind of fun sweet twist on an herbaly fig that I would enjoy smelling on a man.

Very niche reference but when I initially smelled it I immediately thought it smelled like the old tree hut scrub desert haze, which I still stand by and I’m not mad at.

Smells nothing like the OG Debaser. Smells like a very well-done floral perfume but nothing ‘Debaser’ about it. If it was called ‘Bloom’, that would be more appropriate.

Debaser- a song by the pixies. in bloom- a song by nirvana. tape notes. Impossible- but clever marketing

Didn’t love it like I thought I would. Smelled super heavy cologne to me.

Might make me catch the holy ghost if worn on a spring morning

To my nose, this smells like straight up turmeric.
