King Majesty Bergamot Chypre

Starts off bright and citrussy then settles in with the patchouli taking root. It's a complex scent that is pleasing and feels elegant and masculine simultaneously. Think of a classy record store on the Italian coast.

Let's see ..this fragrance opens with a dark green mossy but also soft moody atmosphere. An earthy softness, not a sweet or powdery one. Its comforting like after it has been raining during a summer storm at night. No petrichor or geosmin here, but the ground is soft, humid air, the plants come alive from the rain and everything is darker. Evokes that atmosphere. Smooth woods, soft earth and juicy greenery its all pretty deep. This green does feel alive and soft like a patch of bright green moss sniffed up close. I rate as ok, because I love the opening so much I wish that bright green mossiness could hang around longer. So soft, and elegant. Wears subtle, not in your face like a bright pink shirt or yellow shirt, but more like a friend that you're watching a movie with. Pleasantly there and speaking to a point but never dominating or overshadowing you or your opinion. You notice it alongside you and catch a waft here and there. More like you smell wonderful as opposed to what perfume is that? If that makes sense It does dry down into a woodier fragrance, that has prominent labdanum in the base. I have an aversion to labdanum in that its a sharp green note that I can usually pick out and its just a harsh note for me. This does have a luxury feel to it and I will try it again in a few months in colder weather. The dry down in the cap seems to keep more of that grounded green mossiness. Wish it stayed that way on my skin.
