Peanut

It smells like a peanut and so much more. Not as gourmand as some would have you think, at least not after the first half hour. (This house isn’t as much about projection and longevity as they are quality and unique scents) but peanut is very different from anything else I’ve bought from them and a sigh of relief as a blind buy on a limited release. Pretty dead center unisex fragrance, and the dry down has an addictive property that has me living inside my coat just to catch a whiff. Wouldn’t really outlaw it specifically to winter use though, does have a nice nuttiness to it that isn’t all that bad when it mixes with natural odors. Hard to describe, it’s just that good.

This is gorgeous, so underrated and I WISH DS & Durga would make this a permanent scent in their rotation. It's one of my man's two go-to scents and I adore it. It's so pretty, but also cozy and creamy. I definitely get peanut, but the best way I can describe it is if peanuts were turned into petals. It's like... what a peanut flower might smell like? It's so good.

I really love this. It’s more than just peanut. Without having looked at the notes yet, I kept picking up something like berries or raspberry. Almost like a raspberry peanut butter brittle or candy. It smells delicious, honestly. As it dries down you get some of the earthy notes. It’s so unique and unlike anything I’ve smelled.

Fabulous. The peanut is eccentric, and the vetiver is sophisticated. Combined, it’s brilliant.

Peanut gives me everything I wish Pistachio did. I wish it received as much publicity as Pistachio so that it sticks around as a permanent scent at DS&Durga. There's a depth to the notes beyond plucking a fresh peanut out of the dirt. It's a bit sweet and creamy, sure. But most of all, I smell what I can only describe as WARMTH - warm dirt, warm hay, warm stove. The silage and longevity were both decent too. Unfortunately, I was only able to sample Peanut on my skin once and can't give further thoughts - or decide on how much I like it - without sampling it over a few more days.

Wow. Ok it smells 50% of what you'd expect. It is very peanutty off the spritz but it's very airy. Not reminiscent of cloying peanut butter at all, it smells dry and earthy. Smells like straw, and papyrus and wet tree bark. There's no real sugar-sweetness, but it's reminiscent of maple syrup in some way. Dries down to be quite woody and straw-y. Super interesting scent, I would buy this if they ever made a small size (not holding my breath).

I love this so much. It's peanut, but not peanut butter. It's not like a roasted snack peanut scent it's more of a peanut-in-shell kinda scent. It's perfect with the vetiver. I got a decant, but I know this was only a limited edition. I wish I could buy a full bottle of it.

Like you fell into the open bins of peanuts at Five Guys, but they're sitting in a breezy field of hay. It's very soft and the nutty peanut accord melds with the vetiver. The drydown is like creamy, peanutty skin. I was expecting it to be more challenging, but it's lovely.

@ae49 was on point. Opens with amazingly realistic peanuts, upon a second sniff it's more like a (non-dairy sugar free) "frozen dessert," that lasts less than half an hour. After about an hour it turns rather generic.

Must be a skin chemistry thing but this was very masculine on me - like men's deodorant. I didn't get peanuts at all.

Opens with a very realistic, dry peanut accord which is eventually fleshed out with vetiver and lots of synthetic sandalwood (in the family of Radio Bombay). Feels more like a novelty item rather than a scent I would want to wear, especially not with that shrieky base (which, ironically, is supposed to be the element that makes this a fully realized perfume).

Not A Review: I am so here for this seemingly trendy utilization of nutty notes in perfumery as of late. Almond, Sesame, Pistachio, Chestnut, Praline, and Peanut notes have been popping up more and more and I couldn’t be more thrilled. That said, I just hope that we get more balanced approaches here and there sprinkled in with all of the straight-up gourmands and solinote-style perfumes (of which I love and appreciate). I love when perfumers will take a pronounced—if not loud—gourmand note and contextualize it with amber, woods, florals, musks and/or leather bases to create balanced, wearable composition. I want to smell edible, but not so literally or so much so that I smell like a cheap scented candle. I have high hopes for this one.

OK--this is actually pretty beautiful. There's a delightful peanut note up top, a tiny bit in the mid, and woods in the dry down. It doesn't seem as dry and grassy to me as the marketing copy suggests. I feel like it ends up in an almost thick, sweet rose-sandalwood space a la Aesop Marrakech Intense. Call me weird but part of me wishes it had more of a concentrated peanut butter scent, nostalgic for me since I ate peanut butter almost every school day for 12 years (I know), but I also can't fault it for something that wasn't promised on the tin. FWIW, it projects--and lasts on skin well into the next morning.

Sorry, not a review. Mr D.S, We want more wearable perfumes like Bowmakers and Amber Kiso. These limited editions aren't available everywhere, and some times they're online exclusives, which I find distasteful. Plus, I personally don't want to smell like peanuts. PS: no, I didn't vote for a perfume I haven't smelled yet; I'm better than that.

I'm as much of a fan of peanuts that one can get away with. I wish this was more earthy and less sweet. It's not the photorealistic peanut scent that I was hoping for. It does smell great I'd buy a full bottle easy, but the gourmand notes throw it out of the peanut fields. Though, I like it more than DS&Durga Pistachio any day.

Pretty fun. As D&D vetivers go, if St. vetyver is a drunk pirate, this is a drunk dad taking you to the ballgame
