Suckle Honey City

Had to buy the last bottle of this, hidden away in the back of the Brooklyn store. My partner and I spent the day, walking around, smelling the honeysuckle wafting around the city(and Linden, another gorgeous Brooklyn early summer bloom). I wanted to stop into the DS shop just to see if they had a tester to let us spray on a card. It was so glorious and really captured the essence of honeysuckle. I couldn’t stop gushing about it and finally the wonderful woman working in the store today let me take it home. Very nice. Hopefully it works on my skin.

I blind bought this on eBay because I love DS&Durga and I am so pleasantly surprised at how much I like it! It’s a soft floral with a lot of honey suckle which I don’t see a lot. The milky touch is just a whisper. I might be crazy but it has a Chanel Misia vibe to it, but I’m not advanced enough to know what that note is. Overall very happy with this risky purchase.

Unique green floral scent showcasing the honeysuckle flower in all its glory. The perfume opens with green notes of lemongrass, lime and poppy plants. The heart is mostly honeysuckle with a bit of geranium and champaca. The perfume settles on a base of maple, calonic and green notes. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Recommended for those who love unique florals, others may not like because of its bracing green tartness. Enjoy!

I bought this on an impulse because of honeysuckle with lactonic, coconutty notes. But with some of the other oddball notes listed, I knew it might be too challenging for me. I guess I smell something vaguely coconut-like but it’s not what I was looking for. For reference, I really love Debaser, which has a nice coconut watery creaminess. With Suckle Honey City, there is this heavy feeling to it, like being in a thick cloud of leather, incense, and maybe...diesel? And a prickly smell of walking through vines and bushes in the summer. Interesting to experience, but I didn’t find it wearable for myself.
