Essenza dell'Ibisco (Italian Journey No. 6)

I love tuberose, and Dawn's Tubereuse is gorgeous, so when I heard she had brought this one back as a limited edition, I HAD to have it. My gosh, this is incredible. While Tubereuse is a light and realistic tuberose in the sunshine, this one is that same tuberose in an opulent skin revealing gown. It simultaneously smells somewhat tropical because of the ylang-ylang, which makes it sexy, but also complex and resinous, which gives it depth. Gorgeous. This may be my favorite DSH ever.

I don't know where to start: this is a very complex composition, indeed. I smell hibiscus, apricot and tuberose. At the later stage amber, woods, labdanum and frankincense come to the surface creating an interesting resinous somewhat waxy scent. Although feminine, I think it could be worn by a man as well. I can't wait to wear it in winter - it's so warm but mystical at the same time. Edit: I for got to add, that this is an extremely smokey fragrance (at least on me), and it seems like the longer it's on you, the smokier it gets. I haven't smelled anything like that before - smokey hibiscus! it's not easy to wear, but this is a must-try!
