Euphorisme d’Opium

Opium Perfume: c.1977 The original “YSL Opium” perfume, when launched was a scandal. Not only for the open drug reference but for it’s open sexuality and sensuality. Just as YSL was inspired by his beloved Morocco and the Orient, I have infused the original design of Opium perfume (which as of 2010, is no longer on the market) with some extra doses of the euphoric aromas that bring this enchanting spicy-oriental perfume to life.

Beautiful spicy floral oriental. This is a more translucent and floral version of the original Opium edt from 1977. The perfumer makes use of mostly natural ingredients and has a more delicate style. These factors make Euphorisme d’Opium less intense and highly wearable, but is true to the original Opium spirit. The current Opium edt reformulation is more incense-based. Euphorisme d’Opium is resinous. Sillage for the voile de perfume concentration is delicate after the first hour. Longevity is 4-6 hours. You will want to test with an atomizer. It is too soft when applied with a smear. Also a great alternative for vintage Youth Dew.

This is so good! It's definitely reminiscent of the original YSL Opium and much nicer than the current version (which I own but rarely wear because it's a shadow of its former self). Euphorisme d'Opium is a beautiful, softly spicy oriental that's on the top of my "want" list for when the weather cools down in my part of the world. Divine.
