I just spoke with Dawn Spencer Hurwitz on the phone, this scent's name translates (Japanese) as "Sakura Gazing in the Moonlight". I am sure that the perfume will be as swoonworthy, if not more so, than the name. Awaiting samples (being mailed tomorrow)in the mail, will review when perfume is in hand... Besides being one of the most prolific and talented indie perfumers on the scene today, Dawn is one of the most kind gentle and wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This Kwan Yin like love of Nature and sweet kindness always comes through in her work. She is one of (if not) my favorite modern perfumers and her work is on par (often superior) to many of the perfumers from IFF, Givaudan or Quest. If you have not tried her perfumes, you really should! GP xo

This is lovely and not my usual thing at all. Very gentle cherry blossom floral with what comes across to me as almost a freshly cut stems accord (maybe it's my brain misinterpreting the yuzu). I don't really pick up on the cedar, which is fine with me because I'm not a huge fan of cedar, and I don't know what sake smells like so I can't comment on the accuracy of that note. This is just straight-up aromatherapy, more so than maybe any other fragrance I've tried. I see a bottle of this in my future.

Gekkou Hanami is beautiful! It's citrussy and refreshing then full of beautiful incense. Another lovely scent from talented Dawn!
