Le Sazerac

Le Sazerac is a very good, naturalistic unisex scent. I say that genuinely; not in an "anyone can wear anything" kind of way. Because while I do believe the former statement on principle, there's still an existing metric pertaining to how scents are typically marketed. I like the idea of being a young woman rocking a "man" scent, but many run heavy or just smell off on me. Le Sazerac plain works on my skin. While I've never actually had one, I do get a whiskey mixed drink vibe, just not too much that I smell tipsy. The tobacco plays a supporting role so the blend of other botanicals are allowed to shine. I really pick up on anise, clove brings a little zing, and what feels like a squeeze of citrus to add a pleasant acidity; something I almost always do in my own cooking (and drink mixing). A woody base with a dash of vanilla can be felt, but never wholly reveals itself, as the scent stays fairly linear. It's just a bit leathery, which I have to be in the mood for. Not very sweet overall, despite the description. Very naturalistic and I'm sure far less headache inducing than a real Sazerac. Okay performance for its lack of aromachemicals. I love how Dawn has been making these all-botanical perfumes that smell rich and not like a simple essential oil blend.
