Pamplemousse

To protest yet another snowstorm this morning, I decided to don Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Pamplemousse. Usually the last thing I reach for in wintertime is citrus, but today I'll just pretend that it's July. Smells good--as usual for this house. Grapefruit, as advertised, in a nice woody base. I like it! With so much gross aromachemical nonsense swirling about in the air these days, it's no small source of consolation to know that I can always turn to DSH for good-old-fashioned essence-based perfumes and colognes. Pamplemousse is more of a cologne than a perfume, by the way: light and refreshing.

Umm citrus at the opening. Then slightly fades to something a bit plasticy. Also, quite sadly reminds me of furniture polish at this stage. That doesn't last though and fades just leaving a bit of tea and a hint of citrus. I like it. It's not overly long lasting though.

It smells like it should -- joyous vibrant juicy citruses! Didn't last long on me, but I might be still picking up a sample in future to experiment with lotions to promote longevity -- this scent is worth it!

Beautiful, lively celebration of citrus in general and grapefruit in particular. Sadly, it did not last very long on me, but it's a lovely composition.

Started out sunny, juicy citrus, then lemon water with a twist of rind, then lemon tea. Finally this settled, on me, into a woody, lemony cup of tea.

Grapefruit is a supporting player here, lurking behind lemon. Nonetheless, a pleasant citrus scent that is nowhere near furniture polish territory.

Pretty, but light and fleeting. Natural smelling. Grapefruity, with woody bitterish base. Ultimately didn't mix well with my own chemistry. 5/10

A very pleasant, well-balanced citrus scent: fresh and softly woody at the base. Hang on! I just remembered I used Chanel no 5 scented body oil this morning, that could be adding the bottom notes. Well, happy accident, smells good! Nice for a mild murky English November day.

This citrus cocktail smells natural but not as crisp and zesty as I would like it to be. There is something here that makes this mix cloudy. I don't know what it is , but it's like fruits were cooked. Maybe sandalwood gives out that effect, but I am not too crazy about it.

If you are looking for a pure, well made grapefruit scent, this is a good one to try! Not too heavy, but just citrusy and sour enough to make for a refreshing, gorgeous fragrance. One of the better citrus scents I've smelled.

Oh, man. I saw this product on the right side of the home page, indicating a recent review. As I scanned it, I thought the name was "perimenopause." Shows where my mind is at. The notes look lovely.
