This is so good. Floral, spicy, slightly soapy. Thankfully I don't smell much black pepper. I think the spice mostly comes from the cloves. Really one of my favorites from DSH. I like it better than her other carnation perfumes (Malmaison, Fleuriste, Oeillet Rouge) although those are also very good.

I really love the peppery smell of carnation, and this hits that note. Sexy without being over the top. A little more depth that DSH's Oiellets Rouges.

Dark red flowers set aflame, this sizzles with sparks of fervor. Rich, beautiful and gloriously spiced. I think that the rose is deep and dark enough, the resins are full and viscous, and there's an equal accompaniment of a peppery carnation, which most definitely is ruby red, that the spice is able to be counterbalanced to produced something of a sensuously savvy blend. The red carnation lends some detached sultriness, contributing a cooling heat (an oxymoron, I know). But in the final phase, the tease relents on her own terms and makes way for a commanding whispered invitation of musky labdanum. Dramatic and cleverly seductive.

i tried this again and decided to re-do my review. it's very peppery and spicy at first with some bergamot. that fades off quickly to reveal a spicy carnation that smells very clovey with a backup base of resins and moss. very deep and warm and spicy, i think this would be so wonderful in winter and can't wait to re-try it then (it's currently late summer 2014.)

This is very similar to Jitterbug but does not have the sweetness that jitterbug has. I detect quite a bit of clove which overpowers the blend imo. I love spicy but this is TOO spicy. It has an amazing spicy/floral/ambery scent but the clove is just too much. It would be perfect if the clove was toned back just a little.
