Songbird

I know this is listed as a floral fruity, but it's not. I know it has three obnoxious white florals in the middle act, but not really. i also know it has stinky vetiver and musk in the drydown, but barely. I purchased the 'smell and tell' consultation from Dawn last week and was told I was a 'green/woody'. Fruity florals were immediately crossed off my list, and she didn't even pull Songbird for me to try. I asked for it because it was new and i was curious. Guess what? this bubbled up to my favorite DSH perfume. Note: I love sweetpea, and swoon over htis in Mona di Orio's Oiro and Caron's Pois de Senteur. This note stabilizes anything; and as a result, Songbird wears like a floral green on me. This is a light fragrance that skips on the skin. There isn't a phase that I don't like. Spot on as a springtime and summer scent. My only complaint is this: it doens'nt last long on my skin. I've applied half the sample vile for this review over a three hour period. Since DSH is fairly inexpensive I'll overlook this. do try it if you are curious. It won't disappoint.

I must have liked this the first time I tried it, but trying it again I get a spearmint opening and then....nothing! It totally disappears on me! I'm sure it's a pretty delicate little springtime scent but I can't smell anything at all within minutes. Passing on my sample.

I loved Songbird on paper, it's a very lovely springtime fragrance. Gentle florals, not much fruit on me. Dawn and I picked this one as one for trying on my skin during consultation (Kterhark, triple thanks to you for introducing me to this place, and letting know about the consultation!). When I tried it on my skin at first, I liked it, but when we waited to smell and see what the fragrances were doing on my arms, the Songbird evolved into something generic, not very interesting, as Dawn herself said, so it was a no go for me. But what a pity! I would love to wear this fragrance the way it opened on me. Luckily, many others to love.
