Une Robe de Zibeline

If you're interested in trying out fragrances with animalic notes but are afraid, if you want a vintage construction and haven't tried any before, if you want vintage without the sharp aldehydic top, without a soapy impression, that melts into the skin, if you like the idea of leathery notes but find many to be overpowering and are still on the hunt for something with a softer more wearable leather, this is a must try. I personally am more sensitive to certain animalic notes than others (sensitive to civet, castoreum and costus not so much), and typically am not a huge fan of ylang in fragrances unless it's a beachy solar floral (and certain vintages)-but THIS! It's blended to perfection. If you like animalics, this is absolutely a safe blind buy. If you're new to it, definitely order a sample and see what you think! It also layers wonderfully with vanilla and white floral fragrances (adds depth, richness, complexity). I put a general amount on last night to evaluate, woke up this morning, and there is still some on my sweater. It's intoxicating <3

this one starts really gorgeous and remains that way. it's definitely a spicy floral (but not overly spicy) that has a vintage feel. i get a lot of leather for the first part too, which i love, but it's a soft, sueded leather, nothing strong or overpowering. later, the leather mostly dissipates andthe florals become a bit more prominent. such a lovely perfume.

This perfume conveys a very particular texture, like the pelt of an animal with sleek, short black fur. A chic, understated leather/suede with a fiery ginger opening. DSH Chinchilla is the same level on the skank scale, but that one is a luxurious fur coat!

A combination of heaven! Resinous, ambergris, and sweet animalic blend I get a mildly sweet ambergris, with Turkish roses mixed with resin, rosewood mingles with beeswax & orris, some carnations, a touch of oakmoss, ylang, lemon, bergamot, leather, benzoin, and chunks of civet. It's a vintage combination of heaven with a beauty within. I believe this is a modern vantage 80s animalic blend. I give me the vibes of "La Nuit" by Paco Rabanne, and sometimes vintage "Obsession" by CK. Beautiful Indeed.

This one is really medicinal at first, it reminds me of tiger balm, the camphor. It actually made me sneeze. I love it though, and it sweetens up after 5-10 minutes and turns more golden with amber. It’s not super furry on me, but it is soft.
