Venus & Cupid (Siena)

[JUNE 2021] Bought my first DSH (Venus & Cupid came in a body creme and Voile de Parfum!) I like it! I bought this for the mimosa, but sadly there's not much of it here. But otherwise keep reading. I did however, find exactly what I was looking for: that sample of Divine Gardens (Mantua) that Dawn gifted me was the one I fell in love with! That is now my favourite floral perfume of all time (review available on its Fragrantica page.) Venus & Cupid is quite cute and hyperreal in naturalism, its like Chanel No. 19 without the bitter aldehydes and very much like Vert De Fleur by Tom Ford, minus Tom Ford's touch of leather! If you want a floral perfume with more emphasis on leafy grassy greens, Venus & Cupid is for you. The hyacinth and galbanum is a 100% perfect copy of the real flower bouquets they have at the florist shop! It comes off slightly cool and gusty in air, for something so conceptually romantic but thats expected with the hyacinth-fig-galbanum combo. The neat touch with this one is perhaps its occassional bursts of balsam. At times, that honey-grape combo (with a touch of tuberose) reminds me of milk chocolate! It doesn't come very often though. But if you catch it, cherish it while you can. The body cream by the way is a great accessory to your perfumes, giving it a green-flower touch, not overriding whatever else you're wearing. Ironically, I should have bought this as a room spray instead of DSH's Giverny In Bloom. Giverny In Bloom is an amazing green garden, but Venus & Cupid is also really Giverny In Bloom + all the flowers have fully bloomed and ripened, taking over more of the greenery and wrapped for you in this bottle with a touch of a cold spring morning air! In all, this is a great Floral-Green package. This is exactly what that flower field at the alps of Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle would smell like. But I have to give my love and attention to DSH Divine Gardens for its juicy orange balsam-patchouli sweetness. THAT is a wedding-tier / artist muse-worthy flower bouquet. If you like your florals non-sweet, all green-floral with random, very fleeting touches of sweets now and then, by all means Venus & Cupid is for you! I just prefer the consistent juicy-wet light-sweetness and breath of various warm sunny forest woods from Divine Gardens as a full bottle perfume (that + Venus & Cupid's body creme is a Holy Grail-level combo!) the top note on the list should be tuberose; there are other florals and nuances going on but this is a tuberose fragrance. tuberose mainly with jasmine; indolic, a bit odd and mixed with a fig nuance that is tangy and creamy and almost makes the combination remind you of carnation from afar
