2 Wood

Reading all the reviews I am astonished that hardly anyone(save one or two people) has mentioned the obvious. This is a rebranding of the old He Wood line, specifically Rocky Mountain Wood. Wood Original is virtually identical to He Wood(98% the same, just a little smoother albeit with a slightly subdued violet note, which was actually one of my favorite things about it but i digress). 2 Wood is about 90% the same as RMW in the opening heading in a more citrusy direction while toning down the aromatic woodsy notes slightly and amping up the vetiver a smidge. By the dry down however it becomes about 95% the same as RMW still with that citrusy lean while the vetiver takes center stage. So the question is, is it any good? YES, it's fantastic! Is it as good as the original RMW, not quite. RMW is in my top 15 fragrances of all time(at one point holding the number one spot) so anything that smells 95% like it is great by me. It is a little bit of a let down, no one likes to see their favorite fragrance messed with but thankfully I have all the backups I will ever need of RMW while taking it in a more citrusy direction(thereby making it a summer fragrance as opposed to a cold weather fragrance) is actually a nice addition to my collection. I guess you could look at it as a summer flanker of RMW but more importantly for those that miss the old RMW this is a more than adequate substitute(Easily gets into my top 30 all time, out of a 120+ highly selective collection). This definitely deserves a much higher rating IMO and more love in order to ensure they don't discontinue it. PS: The opening for the first 5-10 min does not do it justice(sharp citrusy notes that eventually settle down) while care should be taken to NOT overspray this. Overspraying RMW can get a little cloying, overspraying 2 Wood is no different.

Starts off with a refreshing bright dry citrus note. When i smelled this, at first i was like omg Dsquared2 why don’t you guys never learn! The community loves the old fragrances, but going into the drydown the scent got alot better. Like i said the scents starts with a dry citrus very refreshing with a slight musky undertone. When it comes to mid/drydown the woods and citrus start to mix and the scent becomes this very pleasant woody/powdery/citrus kinda scent which gave off a an original he-wood dna kinda vibe which i loved. Performance around 6 hours on skin, sillage is moderate at best. If you loved the original he wood this is definitely worth a try, got mine bottle for 60 eu for 100ML. Great for fall days/cooler weather days, office safe, :)

It is extremely rare for me to purchase a fragrance because of a free sample - but that is exactly what I did with this. Dark citruses, slightly aromatic, dry woods yet not a dry scent overall, similar vetiver note to Encre Noire (actually Wood 2 has a lot in common with ENALE), there is transparent musky underpinning with amber in the background. Very masculine, has that old school powerhouse character, so far I think performance is pretty good if not beastly (low prices mean spray at will). I need to spend more time with it but I am definitely going to enjoy this one. My kind of fragrance and will be a more summer friendly version of the Encre Noire line.

I had He wood a long time ago, I was expecting something similar, a very strong woody and lemon scent. But this is not it, it is a very pleasant, well-blended, delicate woody scent. Cedar and cypress dominate from the beginning but there is no intrusive scent, very creamy and rounded scent profile! For this much money there are Arabic toilet scents. Wood 2 may not be special, but it is definitely unique. The only drawback is that it does not have much depth, but this is a summer scent, perfect and unique. Anyone who says it's lemon and only smells like wood has a problem with their nose.

Vetiver Vetiver Vetiver All about Vetiver ! This is a really nice fragrance for vetiver lovers ! It reminds me the Bois de Vetiver of Karl Lagerfeld mixed with the Gerlain Vetiver and the Encré Noir Sport It starts with a small punch of Lemon, Citrus and Aroeira (Pink Pepper), and them goes all way down to a Very Polish Vetiver (I guess because of the Musk)! Longevity is Moderate Sillage is also Moderate But the price was 24 CAD Really nice blind buy !

Gifted by one of my closest friend and I love it. I am a vetiver-head and have most of the vetiver-based perfumes with reputation. Truth to be told, this one is my most favorite. Very soapy vetiver (Not earthy vetiver) Opening is very citrusy and fresh and gets aromatic with time. Performance is Perfect (Covers whole day) and definitely not "beast mode" ,which is always offensive to me.

I'd get better performing scent if I zested myself with a lemon and rubbed up against a tree Update: After a few months of wear, this has become a perfect work fragrance. Fresh, citrusy, woody (as previously mentioned) and I can actually pick up whiffs pretty much all day without re-application. Not to mention, arguably the most important part, it smells great. Mind = Changed

Sweet pine & Texas cedar with a very powdery laundry musk. Very calming and wonderful like being in the forest wrapped in a soft snugly blanket. It's not at all a camphor or medicinal pine, nor a masculine dark wood pine, but like Douglas fir needles that have been dried in powdered sugar (gourmand!). I would love to have designers start making perfumes like this.

On my skin this is woody boozy ambery and I love it. Idk if it is my skin or what but every fragrance that has low longevity and sillage here, on my skin project very well. EDT also, better than EDP sometimes. This is easy to love, safe and sweet fresh, drydown is unreal, sweet woody, inviting, just delicious. Overal 9/10.

This smells identical to Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche. But softer and with much weaker. Sprayed my arm 7 times with a sample bottle (sprays out very little per spray) and I have a hard time picking up the scent after 45 minutes. I do not think I have ever smelled a fragrance that is this soft. Smells amazing though.

My favorite scent since the discontinuation of He Wood Rocky Mountain. Very similar to it but not there yet. Very nice citrus and wood smell. It feels fresh and I really like that violet in here. It's an anytime scent for me. I have noticed it lasts longer in the winter time.

Absolutely love it, my daily go-to as it's inoffensive and subtle. Woody and fresh. This is how I like my vetiver. I just wish it stayed a bit longer and burnt a bit brighter, but I might not wear it as much if it did, so who knows.

I just sampled this in a store in The Netherlands. Strange to see no reviews yet on Fragrantica and Youtube, as it seems to be widely available now. Anyway. A little backstory. I used to have - and love - both He Wood and He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood in my early 20s. Following the discontinuing of these wonderful wood fragrances and the disappointing new Wood For Him from 2018 (which doesn't even smell woody), it's great to see this new release actually living up to its name. If you're a fan of the old He Wood/RMW formula, you'll probably like this one. It's much more woody than the various flankers from the past few years. It's a tad more floral throughout the life of the fragrance (hence the unisex label), but due to its woody dominance, I would say this still leans more masculine. With prices of old He Wood and RMW bottles being so absurdly high, I would suggest to try out this new release instead. Although the beauty of the old formulas can never be matched, this one - in my opinion - comes pretty close.

I absolutely love how the sunny woodsy notes are gently appearing when warmed up on my skin blending with the soft touch of white musk and just a breath of vetiver and pink pepper. But to sense it you have to get really really close to the place of application. And that’s where the only huge problem of this perfume starts to me — the silage and the longevity. The citrusy notes are the first ones to disappear from the skin (5 to 15 minutes, though they are the only ones which stick better to clothes and can be somewhat distinguishable the next day) so I’m not annoyed by them at all, but the same happens to the entire pyramid in just couple of hours! What a disappointment! And I’d love to sense more of this warm, slightly white-flowery wood on me! And I just don’t. The woodsy magic expires faster than snow in desert. I can’t recall any other perfume in my humble collection that would be so demanding in a matter of reapplication. 3, 4 times a day? Seems like I’d need another bottle. Or another perfume...

This was my mother's birthday day gift to me so I have some emotional attachment to it already but I gotta say it's a pretty pleasant and simple fragrance. It's more soapy than woody but it is kind of different in a forgettable way! Usually different smelling frags are more memorable but this poor guy gets overlooked a little. I think it's a very safe and clean smell that just works when you don't know what to wear. It's a dumb reach fragrance. What shocks me is that it's a 69 percent concentration which should technically qualify it as an Extrait de Parfum but it's an EDT! I will report back on the longevity and projection soon. Update: this has excellent longevity with 9 sprays lasting 10 plus hours. Projection dies down after the first two hours.

It's all about citrus and vetiver in this scent. The smell of scorched earth when the fire put out, but the smoke is still here. Mostly it reminds me of Sycomore by Chanel. It's branded as unisex perfume, but in my opinion, it suits rather men; just more subtle than traditional aromatic woody fougere like Encre Noire by Lallique for instance. Not everybody's cup of tea, but interesting, especially if you love woody scents. Not overbearing, as the sillage is moderate; ideal for the fall.

This one is so soft, It doesn't project for me at all, I am getting a strong powdery floral accord (I do assume it is coming from the musk??, As there is no floral notes listed on the pyramid) mixed with woody notes. I do like the scent, but it is nothing ground breaking or new to my olfactory, I see this product as a pass. Edit : But I do already enjoy the scent of this fragrance ( vetiver mixed with musk) Edit 2: But still a soft creamy unisex that is not of my taste

By far one of the nicest woody scents out there, the sweet, citrusy & smooth woody notes are outstanding, it ALMOST comes out pencil shaving but then the amber does it's job in making it smoother and refining it's cooler outcome. Even tho it has a slightly above average performance this is a young masculine energy fragrance I have encountered so far. Such a good lightweight woody frag.

On me, this smells like a generic woody scent. Performance is also not great (maybe 2 hours). Could be just my skin chemistry though. It is very non-offensive. Its unisex enough to be a nice alternative for people that aren’t into typical floral freshies. Pretty much a neutral, non-offensive office appropriate scent.

Citrus, vetiver and a tiny bit of cypress. Classy and inoffensive, office-friendly smell. Grabbed a 100 ml one for around 30 USD, and it feels and smells more expensive than that. Really nice bottle with heavy magnetic cap. A decent blind buy, but the performance is very poor on my skin, lasting less than 1 hour.

fresh and woody with strong citrus and a clean, soapy vetiver. It has some similarities to Encre Noire in that it’s vetiver-heavy, but it lacks the darkness and earthiness, making it much more wearable and inoffensive. The performance is sadly poor, but overall it's a great fresh woody masculine fragrance. 7/10

There, it did this to me again! I applied it an hour before writing the review— and two hours later it evaporated almost completely only leaving the sad scent of the freshly printed initial book pages. So cruel of you, 2 Wood. ‘I was rooting for you, we all were rooting for you, how DARE you!’ 😆😭

I always rush to recommend this one whenever I get the opportunity. Longevity is moderate but I think that’s perfect for what it is. Feels like I just came out of a salty, lemony, fresh spicy bubble bath when I put it on.

This fragrance gives you a smooth and soft vetiver and cedar note, followed with a hint of citrus on top. These combined make for a decent smelling frag, however this becomes irrelevant due to the fact the performance is truly terrible - I'm talking like CK Shock terrible here. A firm pass on this one.

Woody! This is what I expected by the name. This perfume leans more to the masculine side but it could be great for a cool woman too. The wood and musk notes are stronger in the beginning. After ten minutes the citrus notes show up on my skin. I like the balance!

Lovely notes, bad performance on my skin

I got a tester of this fragrance and loved it. After using it up i purchased a bottle and it is so different that i actually had to check multiple times if i had bought the wrong perfume the scent is so different from the tester. I am still not sure what that is about. This fragrance is very woody and smoky for me that i can't smell any of the citrus notes. I feel it is quite suffocating almost. I will keep the perfume and come back to it and hope i can like it more because as of now i really dislike it. I do think this is very unique and unisex scent that i'm sure many would like. The smokiness is too strong for my taste to be able to wear it.

A bit of a boring sporty man scent, this one. Very similar to Hammam by Tesori d'Oriente and Cinéma by Yves Saint Laurent.

Don't like the lemon/ citron in here. It's too pungent. A bit of a boring office scent, this one.

Smells like a man whose hobby is running and he wears sports sunglasses. Kind of sweaty

I will start with some praise. This is a really nice and fresh scent. Pleasant, fresh, citrus/wood/vetiver that I would think would have mass appeal. I am wearing it on a brutally humid day and I really like what is doing on my skin. I was going to say, at first, that it seems to not be any more amazing than EN and it seemed no more special but now I think it is more complex and interesting but I am sure its more costly. It is certainly worth a try but nothing groundbreaking and no reason for me to buy it since all of the EN flankers work for me and get me compliments. That said, If I had started with this I might not have ever gotten an EN. Edit: Now I put it on next to EN Sport. It is certainly different. The EN Sport keeps its dark and smokey vetiver while the other calms into something much more soapy and herbal but very distinct from EN Sport. 2WD2 sure seems to be much more summery and certainly does perform well on a humid, summer night.

This is somewhat similar to He Wood perfumes (Rocky mountain wood especially). The difference is that Rocky mountain wood is (was) a little darker and more vetiver-heavy, and in Wood 2 there is a strong lemony note in the opening. I'm not really a fan of the lemony opening. In the opening there is also a weird oily thing going on. You can sense something oily that doesn't really smell much at all. It suppresses other notes, but later when it subsides the perfume becomes more natural and airy. Unfortunately by then there is not much left of the scent. So if you have been searching something to replace Rocky mountain wood this is somewhat ok, but still quite pale compared to the original.

I did not smell the opening at all. I thought wtf....then after half hour or so the middle came through. It is soft but very pleasant to wear. Longevity seems 4-6 hrs. Worth the 20$

very nice subtle scent due to its weak projection and longevity, I personally wear it to the GYM only so it doesnt bother me or anyone else

Is the performance of this fragrance really that poor or are people just voting nonsense again?

Lemon and woods to my nose through and through. I really do not like it at all.

Is this available in the US yet?
