Red Wood

Fruity musk and cedar wood with Pink pepper? Take my money, heart and soul! This is exactly what I need for a "happy scent". I only tested in the store but from my next paycheck, this beauty is coming home with me. Big plus for body lotion and shower gel with the same scent available! Love to layer like this, it does wonders with longetivity. Ah, this is Christmas. I cried my eyes out when they stopped selling dsquared2 She Wood, but this one will heal my wounds and help me move on towards brighter future... Edit: Ofc I ended up buying full bottle and a spare. I'm bathing myself in this the whole day! Silage is really impressive but I had a stressful day and I'm sweating like a pig...and the fresh cranberry is not enough to cover it. So at the end of the day, I layered this with Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights (Sweet earthy green patchouli monster) and it provided lovely base for this. It's like a night version flanker. Love the combination! Love it bare too. Love love love this!!!

Tropical Litchi-Cranberry ROSE "ROUGE"... Opens with a burst of cranberry with dewy, fresh & floral nuances, that deepens into the rose-litchi heart heart with powdery, tropical & fresh-spicy tones, resting on a floral support base of musky cedar-amberwood. Alongside there is a vague shampoo vibe throughout. The rose here is more forward than the notes would suggest, and overall I get a dewy tropical rose scent with a wash of cranberry over it. There is a faint synthetic note here as well (ambroxan-javanol?), but it's well blended. The performance is average or slightly above average. This is versatile, easy to wear and could be worn year-round, but I would be more likely to wear this in the spring. Enjoy! Update 07/30/24: This has aged beautifully. The first thing I notice now is the rose-litchi, but the cranberry is there especially up close. This really shines in the heat with gorgeous rose-litchi projection. It's a love for me.

I see a lot of negative reviews for this one, but personally this fragrance has its own little category in my collection. It’s true that this smells like fruity shampoo or soap, but sometimes that’s exactly what I’m going for. This doesn't really develop as quickly as any other fragrance I own, it acts almost as a linear fragrance. On skin, this doesn't have much lasting power, but it lasts for literal days when sprayed on the ends of my hair or on clothes. When I wear this and flip my hair it smells like I just stepped out of the shower and I LOVE that. Unless I find a scent that has a similar effect, I would definitely repurchase this one. If you want to step out of the shower in the morning, and smell freshly washed all day; this is for you. This scent isn’t as horrible as the reviews would have you believe, it just depends on what you’re going for.

Will never tolerate any hate towards Red Wood because I love her so much. It reminds me of a fruity, fizzy drink or soda. It is such a radiant and attractive perfume that always gets compliments when I wear it. It’s strong, but not too strong that it gives you a headache or becomes overwhelming. The top notes are unique and have an interesting punch, thanks to the pink pepper notes ,which gives it that soda-like scent. Over time, the fragrance softens and becomes sweeter, really bringing out its floral sweetness. Some people have said that it reminds them of a sweet apple, and I can definitely see that. Although most have voted it to be a primarily summer scent, I wear it as my winter fragrance. There’s something entrancing about a fizzy, bubbly, and almost electrically sweet cranberry note in the cool winter. I love it. Definitely worth giving a try!

After the initial fizzy tutti -frutti, cranberry -rosy blast you are enveloped in a soft and beautiful veil of this deliciously feminine aroma: warm, smooth and soapy with a hint of light woodiness that only gives the scent its piquant spiciness. Sweet and subtle, your skin but better smell, very pleasurable, indeed. Reminiscent of Versus Time for Pleasure, Versace. Perfect for the summer. Mood lifter, definitely! P.S. Having been wearing this perfume for quite a while now, I must admit that it's not a quiet scent, rather potent one with excellent projection and longevity; it lasts more than 10 hours on my skin. Sparkling cedar softened with musk is prominent in the composition. Fresh and airy Woody Gourmand. Delightful !!!

Guys I love this fragrance so much. One of the perfumes in my collection that I fear to lose. I’ll always repurchase this in hopes I contribute to keeping it on the shelves😭😭. My Optimism will only hope for that. It’s very fruity, it’s a lovely shampoo kind of vibe, clean but not a watered down fruit. I think the cranberry and lychee merge to form this juicy fruit dominant fragrance. I love this fragrance so much, I wear it all year round whenever I feel like it, and I feel like it a lot. This is my most repurchased perfume!

This is "happy and carefree" in scent form. It smells to me like I've just opened a cold can of fizzy cranberry soda, and the sillage is delightful, something I have noticed in all of the DSquared scents I have purchased for myself and others. Perfect to wear any time you want to simply smell clean and pretty, but I think it would dazzle in the summertime. I have yet to go wrong with a DSquared scent, both those marketed for men and women.

I get sweet and sparkling cranberry, litchi and rose. Personally, I like this one. It smells similar to Escada type of scents which I enjoy - sweet, simple, and fruity. It’s nice and fresh for springtime which is exactly what I need. Sillage and longevity are good on clothing. I got a big bottle for $40 so can’t complain!

I wish I had known about this perfume sooner! This somehow reminds me a bit of bath & body works gingham gorgeous with a muskier take. I'm usually someone who likes strong strong luxurious scents and this one hits the spot for me 💗 Surprisingly long lasting on me which is a rarity.

One of my favorite fruity frags. The woody-ness really toned down the height of the fruit but I love it. Great daily wear.

Got a decant of this frag as a bonus gift with my recent order. I usually like DSQUARED2 perfumes, tho I find them more suitable for young persons (means, I don’t use ‘em myself). This one isn’t clearly for women, on my nose. It’s wet cedar wood mixed with red berries, not obviously sweet. Smells kinda like a mix of bar cocktails and pencil shavings, but in a bit noble way. I can clearly detect litchi and even the shades of magnolia, but the rose note is a bit too weak. It’s mostly about wet cedar wood and red peppery berries, yes. UPD: I’ve read that people usually get shampoo notes from this frag aaaand... guys, it’s litchi! Watermelons, litchi and etc usually give such shades to frags! :’D UPD2: and after nearly half an hour after spraying it on my wrist I can clearly smell only noble and natural frag! It feels like I’m on a cedar sawmill after the morning rain with some fruity cocktails!

smells exactly like the notes listed here. juicy berries, a bit of pink pepper and rose to soften it. (not much wood despite the name) delicious and easygoing, not offensive and very suitable for daily wear. suitable for younger audience. i understand that some may find this boring and one dimensional but it’s very fun and fresh for me. i definitely sense a bit of mugler angel nova dna in this. if you like angel nova but can’t justify paying that much i recommend you to try this. great price point. longevity is weak due to being an edt but reapplying is not a big deal for this price. bought it from the duty free sales section and didn’t regret it!

This is a very fresh and clean fruity, ever so slightly warm smell on me. I genuinely do enjoy it and I actually reach for it a lot! Is it groundbreaking? No. Unique? Not at all. But is it a good inoffensive all rounder? Absolutely. This is my go to "running out of the door" grab, and I always take it on holiday (along with a varying selection of others! 😂) RRP is too high for what it is, definitely, but it can usually be picked up on a permanent "sale" for about £20-30 for 100ml and I think that's worth it even if it's just for a grab and go or "lives in the car" fragrance.

Very fresh fruity fragrance, with acidic / sour notes to juste pulvérisé. The olfactory evolution immediately becomes floral, a spring garden, an absolute triumph of magnolia and rose. At the dry down the grandeur floral persists, imbued with fruity notes with submerged boises / musky notes that are scarcely emerging. Undoubtedly a fragrance for young teenagers.

Love this one! It’s so sweet but still sophisticated. Very ”fizzy” and ”fun”. It gets me a lot of compliments. It’s not long lasting though. You’ll have to apply more every hour. Budget friendly, we love that 🤑. I’ll give this one a STRONG 7,5/10!

The scent is indeed red, but in a cheerful and not overwhelming way. It is warm, pleasant, like a summer day, like a date on a red and white checkered picnic blanket. It's nothing special, but a small flower in the prose of life means a lot.

Very nice smell, a good, dumb reach imo, smells like slightly woody cranberries, a bit of litchi, overall a nice day-to-day perfume, nothing too special about it, average performance, good price.

I get warm berry compote. I like it. This could work for an island holiday, summer at the beach or lake for people who want to stand out from the coconut and tanning smells.

I liked She Wood and She Wood Golden Light a lot and today I tried this one. I don't get any wood at all. It's sweet and fruity. Not bad, but nothing special either.

Cute, but somehow does not live up to the brand (edgy, playful), nor the packaging it comes in (fun, modern, tactile - the box is flocked and velvety! The bottle is simple but weighty with a wooden and magnetized cap!) Anyway, with a name like "wood" you expect wood. With a brand like DSQUARED2 you expect some spice. But you get neither - or at least I don't really. YMMV. This is for most part a very fruit-first-floral-second scent, with minimal complex base notes and a very sharp synthetic opening, that's not entirely pleasant. Spray and wait before you smell. It does become fairly pleasant in the dry down, but it's nothing to necessarily write home about: cranberry and lychee, with that secondary rose tempering the sharpness, and musk coming through over time. I don't get any of the pepper, personally - that slight opening bitterness is all cranberry I'm sorry to say. Perhaps I am being a little unfair in saying that the wood is missing completely, as something does keep the fruit weighed down a little compared to straight-fruit scents, but there is absolutely no distinctness to it, which is a shame (again - this is called "wood"). I'll be wearing this as a lazy day scent. Not a special day scent. Just a regular schmegular day scent.

I really wish DSquared2 would get their marketing sorted out. I do not understand why they insist on naming their scents "Wood" when they are really more about blossoms, fruits, and foliage. This scent would be more appropriately named "Blossom," or perhaps "Bouquet." Red Wood is quite sweet, with floral and berry elements up-front. The melody of blossom notes is supported by a subtle bass line of nondescript woody texture. The note breakdown mentions cedar, but the nuance of the wood base is clearly playing second fiddle to the rose and lychee main act. It has a fresh quality overall that reminds me of a freshly watered greenhouse, or perhaps a shower gel. I have not tried Wood (for Her), as of this post. If you wish Red Wood held a more citrus theme, I'd direct you to try Wood (for Him). Avoiding reductive masculine/feminine labels, Wood offers a bright citrus freshness that mirrors what Red Wood does with floral notes. It is also similarly poorly marketed as a some kind of softwood scent, when it is an obvious homage to a walk through an orchard. Wood also has a similar soapy clean vibe to Red, and I'd argue it stands as a better companion scent to Red, than Green Wood does.

It's ok. It is very harsh and just smells "like perfume". In fact, it smells like dove deodorant. It's just disappointing because all dsquared fragrances are so uninspired and basic. It is the complete opposite of the brand's essence as a fashion house. It lasts as much as a EDT. Buy yourself a victoria's secret Body Spray.

Reminds me of 1. Soap & Glory’s original pink fragrance on their body lotion 2. pencil shavings I’d rather buy a Soap & Glory lotion and skip the pencil so it’s a no for me :)

Sweet. Fruity, tart cranberry, sweeter than sweet lychee, and a slight well blended rose. Where are the woods?! I can maybe make out a tinge of a very pink pepper somewhere in there, but this really lacks depth and feels mainly very sweet and fruity. In a shampoo kind of way.

I smell plastic fruits. not vibrant fruits (like Ralph by Ralph lauren), not deep fruits, and not even syrupy fruits... but just plastic, one dimensional fruits.. disappointment! The bottle is very pretty though...

Noxious. I get a blast of tart fruit in the opening that quickly descends into an aggressive and synthetic musk cloud. There's some nauseating, fermenting fruit smell that pushes through. I tried to let it sit and develop for a few hours, but just felt increasingly queasy as time went on and had to wash it off. Great longevity though. So there's that.

Pretty synthetic. Very sickening and sweet. Lasts forever, silage is pretty good. But I can't stand this smell, I had to wash it off multiple times. I have no idea when a scent like this would be appropriate to wear. It's loud and annoying. It's like cranberry and playdough, but amped up tenfold.

Picked this up yesterday for under $20!! And without reading any reviews.. which for once I'm glad about, because I really like it, against all odds. It sits really well on my skin and is not sweet at all. It has a very subtle warm comforting aroma to me. It doesn't last very long though, which is a shame. Apar frm the initial blast of pepper, that doesn't stay, I can't discern any of the other individual ingredients - it just overall seems like a very pleasant, unique blend. But how amazing, as always, that everyone has such a different view on one fragrance.

I’m surprised how much I like this! I recieved a sample and had low expectations since I tend to avoid fruity scents. Today is the second time wearing it and it’s a strong like. The pink pepper, berry notes and litchi gives it a tart feeling that reminds me of citrus without being citric. Uplifting, bright, happy and a bit sweet. I get a lot of powder and a hint of iris which reminds me of the fruity iris in Estée Lauders Sensuous stars.

I have to disagree with the rest of the reviews. It's soft and fruity but when you smell it again a few hours later it's a soft woodsy amber scent. I usually hate amber/wood smells but I've fallen in love with this one. On the other hand, my boyfriend doesn't like this scent. He said it's a generic fruity perfume you smell in every perfume shop. So i guess it's a rather subjective scent.

Upon opening I was impressed by the velvet box, a magnetic cap and overall very quality presentation. Red Wood smells like the nicest face cream, the loveliest shampoo, the most gorgeous shower gel, the best hair oil. If you've ever been struck by a skincare scent and wanted a perfume like that then grab Red Wood. And oh my gosh yes does remind me of Ange Ou Demon Le Secret by Givenchy!

Fruity shampoo scent (bit plastic on opening but this goes away) drying down to v soft fruity amber. I do like the dry down much more than the first phase. No woods to speak of. You'll smell like you just had a shower. Indeed reminiscent of Gucci Guilty Black for Her but a little less smooth n a tad 'hairspray'. Like smelling Black inside a salon.

From the first spray down to hours after when the scent should have evolved and developed it just smells like a generic synthetic shower gel or as i call sometimes this cheap smelling perfumes "scented insecticide" I agree with the name being misleading, this one did not smell like wood or anything close to it

This review is for the red bottle of red wood d squared. The small bottle I received does not smell anything like the notes that are listed. No rose, no pink pepper, no cedar. To me this smells like citrus, similarly to White Citrus by bath & body works.

Comes out SO STRONG like almost disgustingly sharp. Longevity is great but this one just didn ́t sit right on my skin. It was really harsh and not sweet at all as most say. Wish I could wear this because it ́s defiently an unique scent.

This brand has released some great fragrances in the past.Red Wood is not one of them.RW is a very artificiale smelling fruity scent the berries in here smell so common and faint,many other better options in the market

Really enjoying this one, it does have a touch of chemicalness, but, I love it. Jammy fruity tart but slightly sweet. Like a good summer jam you can spread on everything. Getting more of a taif than a regular rose.

This one is soo good, even better then man version, on me unisex, fresh and slightly sweet, love the bottle , and that soft touch packanging (velvet box ) .It lasts 7h+ with medium aura 8/10 from me..😁
