Nitro Elixir

*First impressions YSL MYSLF is my favorite fragrance so when I heard it had similar DNA I had to try it. It’s kinda like MYSLF in some ways but also very different. It opens with a hint of that MYSLF orange blossom & fresh dna but then when it starts to come down it kind of reminds me of BIR Coral Fantasy. I know nobody has compared it to that but I think it’s oddly similar. Pretty solid fragrance, definitely wanna see what the performance is like to give it an overall rating but right now it’s a solid 8/10. ****UPDATE**** It’s been a couple weeks and it completely changed and honestly.. not for the better. Let it sit for a few weeks and I’ve worn it about 5 times since. It’s not a bad fragrance, it’s just not for me. Idk if my bottle was doing something weird before maceration but it no longer resembles BIR coral fantasy. It opens up fresh and clean like MYSLF, but then immediately just smells like bubblegum. That’s it, I can only pick up bubblegum. I didn’t really like Hawas for that same reason. I sprayed it on my girlfriend’s hand and it was great on her, it’s just not my style. The original MYSLF is my favorite fragrance line so I may be critical. This just feels like its own thing and it’s VERY sweet and kinda feminine. Performance is great, i could smell it on my jacket for a couple days, and lasts on skin for a solid 8-10 hrs. New rating is gonna be a 5/10, but that’s for ME. It’s probably a solid 8 for those who like this kind of thing, or a younger dude in high school/college.

Gentle, soft, and sweet—yet surprisingly potent. It opens with a familiar edible bubblegum note, but quickly reveals something more refined. There’s a fresh, slightly aquatic quality with a subtle spice and smooth vanillic warmth, all blended in a way that feels both clean and intriguing. What really stands out is the quality of the composition. The accords feel polished and intentional, giving the fragrance an almost airy lift. Despite its softness, performance is impressive. Projection is strong and consistent for about 3–6 hours, depending on application and climate. On skin, the dry-down leans amber and tonka heavy, becoming warmer and more grounded. On clothing, it evolves differently, holding onto more of the brighter, fresher elements. Applying to both gives you the full spectrum. The scent trail is clean but alluring, flirty without losing sophistication. Sweet, fresh, with a faint earthy backbone that keeps it from feeling too playful. It draws comparisons to other fragrances, but more as subtle echoes than direct similarities. Imagine fresh linens layered over amber and tonka, with hints of orange blossom, mint, and geranium, all anchored by a quiet masculine earthiness. It’s not overly complex, but it is clearly well-crafted and feels luxurious. Easy to wear, broadly appealing, and genuinely enjoyable. This might be my go-to for the year. Arguably signature-worthy.

Nitro Elixir starts with a pleasant non powdery white floral scent with some amount of a bubblegum sweetness and a bit of a freshness that tries to get through but is drowned out by the florals. I don't really get the fruity or citrus notes at all nor do I really get much spice until the middle. In the mid we're talking a much warmer ambery white floral scent where the depth finally comes through. The sweetness becomes much more defined into the praline note and some of the spice and base notes begin to form a sweet masculine floral scent. The performance really explodes here in the mid a real room filler at this point. The floral notes unravel a bit during the dry down but you can get a bit of everything here and there and it trends ever so slightly back on the sweetness and adding in a bit of cleaner notes. This is an extremely wearable mass appealing scent with incredible longevity and strength really hard to go wrong here at the price. Some would probably think this is slightly "boring" but this is an anytime scent a real brain off choice when you just need anything it is practically never the wrong choice. It leans towards the fairer weather but there really is no reason you couldn't wear this whenever.

So I’ve only had this a few days, so I’ll probably have more thorough thoughts after a longer time spent with it and maturation/macerartion/masturbation time. In a word, it’s clean. Easy to wear, versatile, hard to dislike. The opening is kinda like an orange-blossomy/white floral fresh with a hint of mild to moderately sweet orange. The sweet orange fades and I get more of that ambroxan, clean scent in the dry down. Projection and longevity is better than average so far. Not beastly but solid. I’ve only smelled a ysl myslf once and it’s kinda similar from what I recall. Not a clone, more of a twist, but a good one. It’s kinda “blue” fragrance in the sense that it’s clean, fresh (but not aquatically so), pleasant, and easy on the sniffer. Overall, hard to go wrong. Safe, great for work or office. Pleasant, totally inoffensive clean semi-sweet versatile scent. Also, it has the magnetic cap like red intensely, but this atomizer is better. It pumps out more per spray than red intensely, or any of the others (red, black, intense, white etc...). Give it a 9/10. Won’t be disappointed.

After testing for a couple weeks here are my final thoughts. Wore Dumont Nitro Elixir today and wanted to share some thoughts. The opening hits with that bubblegum-aquatic sweetness you’d expect from the Nitro Red/Invictus style of DNA, but it doesn’t stay there long. Pretty quickly, it shifts into this clean laundry, dryer-sheet vibe that reminds me of the Myslf line—only a little darker and thicker than the EDP. Projection is solid for the first couple hours, then it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is around 7 hours before it becomes more of a skin scent. I’ll be honest—I really like this one. I’m a fan of this DNA in general, and Nitro Elixir does it really well. It feels completely unisex—not leaning feminine or masculine, just pleasant, versatile, and easy to wear. You could throw this on in any setting, any weather, whether you’re dressed up or casual, and it still carries a touch of class. From what I’ve read, this is supposed to be a clone of YSL Myslf L’Absolu, though I haven’t smelled the original myself to confirm.

I absolutely love Myself Absolu. After trying in store, I knew I had to get it...until I checked the price tag. That led me to take a gamble on Nitro Elixir back when it first dropped. Elixir smelled really close from memory but eventually I just knew it was missing something from the YSL. I finally bit the bullet & grabbed a bottle of Absolu. Comparing them side by side revealed to me that they were more different than I had recalled. The best way for me to describe the differences is Elixir is more bubblegum sweet forward with the dryer sheet/fabric softener combo while the Absolu has those elements too, but leads with a floral ginger duo where it really shines with such a beautiful dry down. Personally, the YSL is smoother & more refined/quality (which is expected at the price point) BUT the price can be hard to justify. The praline really shines for the Nitro on the side by side skin test. The Elixir’s closeness is about 75%. In the air, hard to spot the difference but on skin & with the dry down its evident

I know this might sound exaggerated, but I literally just created my account and this is my very first perfume review. I just received this fragrance and sprayed it for the first time—and I instantly fell in love with it. When I first tried YSL Absolu, I absolutely loved it and wanted it to be my signature scent. But then I came across this more affordable alternative and decided to give it a try to see if it really lived up to the hype. Honestly, from the very first spray, I was hooked. It has quickly become one of my favorite perfumes and easily one of the best I’ve ever purchased. It’s not a 100% exact match to YSL Absolu, but it definitely belongs to the same scent family. And to be completely honest, I might even like it more. I’m genuinely in love with this fragrance. I only sprayed it four times, and it filled my entire room. I’d say it’s a very safe blind buy. If you love scents similar to YSL Absolu, there’s a very good chance you’ll love this one too.

I picked up the new Dumont Nitro Elixir which is supposed to be a clone of YSL Myslf L’Absolu. I haven’t smelled the original yet so I can’t compare directly, but I can say this one gets very close in the dry down to my Myslf EDP. The opening gives just the briefest touch of that Nitro bubblegum sweetness you get in some of the others in the line, but it quickly shifts into a floral orange blossom vibe with a clean, almost fresh laundry feel. Compared to the EDP, this one leans a little sweeter. Projection is solid for the first couple of hours, I’d call it moderate to strong, and I’m getting about 6 to 7 hours of longevity. Overall I’m impressed — it has that classic Dumont Nitro performance, which is amazing for the price. Definitely curious now to try the original L’Absolu to see exactly how close Dumont got, because there are some noticeable differences from the EDP.

This thing is quite strong. I say its like 80-85% similar to the original. The MYSLF dna is obsviously there, yet it is way fruitier/bubblegum sweeter. I once heard someone say, its like a combination of all 3 MYSLFs, and I agree. To my nose, the opening leans more towards the EDP, but as said earlier, way fruitier. Drydown and base notes smell identical. The fruitiness pushes it slightly unisex to me. Longevity is insance for this price, lasts days on clothing. I put my hoodie in a washer, came out still faintly smelling it. Personally, I like the originals more, but at this price point... who the hell am I to complain. I guess its a more youthful version of the MYSLFs. Extra things: good atomizer and magnetic cap. Wait keep note, this is indeed a possible headache inducing scent.

Nitro Elixir is a fantastic scent from start to finish. It's similar to Myself Le Parfum and L'Absolu but much better in my opinion. I am testing all 3 on my skin side by side as I write this review. Nitro opens better than L'Absolu with a smoother cardamon and citrus. The orange blossom is just as good as the Myselfs and there is more to it in the mid and drydown. Nitro is more complex, masculine, interesting, smoother and long lasting. They are all good scents (including Myself EDP) but Nitro Elixir is the best. Aside from the scent itself Nitro Elixir is much cheaper than the Myselfs and cleaner. All 3 Myselfs set off my allergic reaction to phthalates ( itching and rashes ). I can spray all I want on my skin with Nitro Elixir "natural spray" with no issues.

This does exactly what it was created to do, smell like a rich and budget friendly designer fragrance. It’s very similar the YSL Myself line but with better performance and just checks all the right boxes with what a proper crowd pleasing fragrance is. An extremely versatile scent, a chameleon even. You could literally wear this anytime, any day, any season, and anywhere. As for the scent, the blend is fantastic which makes one note particularly difficult to find at first. The beginning has a brightness to it and settles into a sweet ambery floral with a slight spiciness. Again, dumont completed what they set their mind to and I give them props. It smells fantastic and has great performance so it’s a recommendation from me! 🤙🏽

I don't believe Dumont is a "clone" house per say. In the past they typically take aspects of popular fragrances and mix them and/or take out and add their own spin on something. Everything I have personally experienced with them has always been a twist. With that said, this to me is their twist of Myslf, Nitro Red Intensely with a touch of Althair. Not sure why we're getting comparisons to the L'absolu because that literally came out maybe a month before this. There's no way that they "cloned" the brand new YSL flanker in just a month and had it bottled and shipped across the pond. I think it just happens to be coincidence that had released prior to this.

From the very first spray, Dumont Nitro Elixir makes an immediate statement. Clearly inspired by YSL Myself L’Absolu, it opens with a lively spark of Nitro Red, adding an energetic twist before melting into a smooth praline accord that intertwines seamlessly with bright citrus and spicy cardamom. As it settles, a seductive blend of sweet orange blossom and clean ambroxan emerges, creating a polished yet magnetic drydown. Performance is already impressive straight out of the box, and I expect it will only deepen and refine as it matures. This fragrance easily punches far above its price point—possibly the crown jewel of Dumont’s lineup.

I am really surprised at how much this Nitro Elixir smells so similar to the YSL Myself L'Absolu. I have been at stores testing out the new YSL and wanting to jump on it but the $200 price tag has kept me away. I spent $30 on this Dumont Nitro Elixir and I am very happy with it. I'm getting this soft but masculine lightly sweetened floral and amber scent. It smells so relaxing and will appeal to just about everyone. I can see it being unisex as well I even invited my wife to wear it to work to see what she thinks of it. If you go smell the original at a department store and you like it you'll also like this one.

So I sprayed this on yesterday at like 6 pm it’s now 6:45 am and it’s still on my skin faintly, I can smell it on my arm hair pretty strong and my shirt is still projecting, this stuff is strong! And it’s smells sooooo good, I’m so happy with this one! Love the ysl dna I bought a decant of absolu and loved it couldn’t spend over 200 buying a bottle saw this copped it for 55 and boy am I glad, I like it better, toned down florals nice body on this and creamy smooth. 10/10 . Dumont killed it.

Ysl myself is my favorite line from a designer company. But l’absolou is so expensive. If you don’t want to spend a ton of money on the real frag, this one is good enough, sweeter than the original but keeps the same dna. I haven’t let it sit yet just judging off the first few sprays. It’s still pretty damn good. You will definitely still get compliments from this especially in the dry down. Silage is fire and the scent with stick on you for awhile. Have fun with this one.

Extremely wearable fragrance with good performance and longevity. I haven't compared it side by side to YSL L'Absolu, but from what I remember, it is pretty close. If you enjoy versatile designer fragrances, this is just that. That being said, this isn't exactly the most unique fragrance ever. Sweet, fresh, clean, and honestly reminds me of what a department store smells like. A little syrupy, but not in a heavy way as opposed to the honey in JPG Le Male Elixir.

I bought a sampler set of all the Dumont Nitros and the only ones worth it, in my most humble opinion is the Nitro Elixir (this one) and the classic Nitro Red. For performance and scent profile, those 2 are going to be all you need. Nitro Red is a fantastic slightly green watermelon freshie and Nitro Elixir is a denser versatile, sweet ambery floral that can be used anytime or anywhere. Now this is a dupe that has got my attention! This is as if you had Ysl myself L’Absolu, removed the ginger, and added some sweetness and more orange blossom. Now it doesn’t smell as clean as l’absolu or edp, but its in the same territory and still smells amazing for being only $40. I’d say it’s around 80-85% similar. If you don’t have the money to buy the real thing this is definitely good enough to replace it. Not 1:1, but still phenomenal!

I would say this isn’t a 1:1 to ysl myself l’absolu. It’s a bit sweeter in opening (sort of a bubble gummy sweetness) and the dry down smells really similar but more masculine. The projection and longevity are insane. Up to 10 hours on skin and like 16 on clothes. I got a compliment in the office from someone walking by my desk like 8-9 feet away and I had 2 sprays on after 4.5 hours. Highly recommend for a good everyday scent.
