Nitro Pour Homme

Time for a spicier, inspired take on Bond No 9 Lafayette Street (some say Nikos and Silver Scent but I've not smelled those); for those of you that require beast mode, it's known for having significant longevity. It starts out with a nutty cardamom and blended citrus open, leaning more orange as it transitions to a beautiful orange blossom and light jasmine in the heart; the orange blossoms linger on me for quite some time, which is really lovely. Eventually the cedar starts creeping through solidifying a very sturdy, clean musky cedar and ever-so-tonka-sweet sandalwood base for our dry down. It comes off as a very professional, confident, and has a bit of a throwback masculine feel to it.

IMO, this is the best fragrance in the Nitro lineup. The others are great (except that I don't know why Dumont would choose to include 3 Aventus dupes in the set), but Nitro Pour Homme is resoundingly masculine and much stronger performing than the other Nitros. It has that traditional musk cologne, like Boss Bottled but without the off note that I smell when I spray Bottled on my skin. Musk and jasmine play lead, softened by the faint menagerie of citrus notes. Really good stuff. Once I finish the Nitro discovery set, Nitro Pour Homme will be my first full-bottle purchase.

Yes, there is some resemblance to Silver Scent and Nikos, but there's much more to it and the overall quality is much higher. With some added spices, a very classy and subtle jasmine note alongside the orange blossom and a very solid woody base, very well-blended actually. Nothing groundbreaking, but a very pleasant and mass-pleasing all-rounder that performs very good (like all fragrances by Dumont I've tried so far). On clothes it comes off a bit more fresh and citrusy than on skin; 24 hours later and I can still smell it!

This one is easily overlooked, but ironically is probably the best take in the entire line. This is the start of the sweet and fresh DNA that Nitro uses as its base but it differentiates itself both from its flankers and other competition on the market by adding a warm woody note and a touch of amber to the formula. It's a sophisticated and mature take on the sweet and fresh DNA that annoys older users and appeals to teenagers. One that may and should make older users take a second look at the DNA and appreciate it. This is a good blend of sweet, citrus, floral, spicy, woody, aromatic, musky and powdery aromas. It's a pretty warm fragrance, good for using in colder weather. It's like the love child of Rabanne's Invictus and Lalique's Encre Noire. As good as it is for older users who normally dislike the sweet and fresh DNA, younger users who do enjoy that DNA may be thrown off by Nitro's warm and comforting take on it. This is best suited for older users. Peformance is good. Presentation is plain as per the entire Nitro line. This is highly underrated and appreciated and should be given a look at. Recommended.

#850 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I gave away all my bottles of the Jacques Bogart Silver Scent line because of their feeble EDT performance. But I recognized the scent immediately. This is basically Jacques Bogart "Silver Scent Intense." The whole line smells pretty much like this, though Bogart recently introduced an EDP "Silver Scent Aqua" that looks more like Kenneth Cole "Mankind" than it does the other Silver Scents. I'll get around to it eventually. Thing is, had they introduced EDP versions of the original Silver Scent EDTs I'd be a buyer for all of them. But we now have this, so no point as far as I'm concerned. This fragrance overcomes the longevity and sillage deficiencies that made the Bogart Silver Scent line unacceptable to me. It's a very citrusy freshie. All that's missing is yuzu. It's car pool, elevator and small office safe. Warm weather and beach wear. Casual office wear. Probably not a date night scent. Makes it to lunch just fine. I think it's a safe, low cost blind buy freshie, and as more people get it and review it I expect the rating to land well above a 4.00.

Alright, initial review straight out of the box, this stuff isn't meant for actual hot climate. If you've got temperatures above 40°C, you might wanna pass this one. Also, feels very synthetic and a cloying orange to my nose. Hard pass for me for now. I'm gonna let this sit for a while and come back if and when it changes. Edit: 2 weeks into maturing this, the freshness in the top is a lot more clear now. The synthetic, cloying orange has toned down by a lot, and this is overall much more pleasant to wear. Easy 8-9 hours of longevity with just 3-4 sprays on skin, and keeps winning me over as time passes. Easy 8/10.

I like how old school this smells, opens up very detergent-like (white florals, TONS of them xD) with a lavendery mid, and this unlit incense stick scent to it that I quite like. That unlit incense stick note reminds me of a brand that I use, Balaji Prashanth, the rose one specifically...the far dry down is what those sticks smell like when they're in its little elongated box. Again, nuclear like the rest of the Nitro line, so jisy for that and the old school factor it gets an 8/10.

i got the discovery set for the nitro line and this is the only one i liked. blue was ok but they all have this "signature note" thing in them that smells plasticky and cosmetic. its not blind buy safe and frankly, after smelling nitro red, makes me question every fragrance influencer ive ever watched on youtube.

I have to start by saying that yes, I'm now 58 and probably considered an old man... And oldsters supposedly lose a lot of their olfactory senses in time. However... my smeller works just as well now as it did when I was ten... and as it turns out, it must have been really damn good one when I was in my twenties because at the time I worked for a Perfumier where I grew up in Houston and was in charge of Quality Control there for six years. An observation that I've made over the last decade is that these days because so few people smoke anymore, so few people seemingly own pets anymore, so few people get out of the house on nature anymore, so few people physically work with "gross" materials anymore... you name it, folks noses have become extremely sensitive to "nasty" things that people our age just didn't notice back then... I'm sure that everyone here is familiar with the term "Beast Mode"... but the real truth about vintage fragrances, even the cheap drugstore variety back before the 90s, were real "Ball Kickers".... most likely because everyone and their monkey smoked like broken furnaces at the time. But even then, the non-smokers were probably desensitized and had higher tolerance to "stink", too... because even if they didn't smoke they were constantly around someone who did. All that said, NO...I personally don't think this fragrances is anywhere near "Beast Mode"... About the only modern fragrance to ever chase me out of a room with my eyes watering, my head aching and my gut rumbling, has been Oud Al Layla from the House of Arabiyat... wow! In fact, because of all the hype surrounding the Nitro line, I was really excited to receive these fragrances and experience again the way I remember how even the least expensive Drug Store fragrances smelled years ago... But unfortunately that just wasn't to be. Yes, these Nitro frags are pretty powerful, but that's FOR AS FAR AS MODERN FRAGRANCES GO...to me, anyway. I was under the impression that the whole line was nuclear... this one seems to be average, at least on my skin.

I don’t want to influence anyone’s decision but I just did not like this one. It’s very citrus/floral but the minute I sprayed it on my wife said “that smells like a carpet deodorizer powder we used a long time ago” Thanks babe, now that’s all I can smell/remember. I’ll agree it’s slightly “old school-ish” and “barbershop” feeling but it just wasn’t my style.

First impressions: Justthefactsman got it. It's full Silver Scent. From test strip is better and mild, though. But for me and, as far as i know, lots of people, SS is beastmode A-bomb blast. I don't like Silver Scent but i'll force myself to test this on skin. Edit: After a full wearing, i would say that it's a very good fragrance. Do ressambles Bogart Silver Scent, but it kind of gets that idea and make it work. It's a fall/spring fragrance. Good performance. It grows on you, very nice wearing experience. I'll would give it a 7,75/10 IMHO

It has an old school vibe to it, like a modern take on an old fragrance. I'm 48 and I really appreciate that, it brings back olfactory memories. I consider this to be wearable for all seasons. It was a blind buy, I was on the hunt for an alternative to Lafayette Street and people here say Nitro ph reminds them to that frag. So I decided to get this beauty. Great projection and longevity. Great purchase! Bang for buck.

Just came in the mail and This is a twist on Lafayette street. I also have “New York ave by Grandeur” and “rock street” being how much I love this DNA. This one isn’t bad feel it’s more on the spices then the freshness but once it dries down it comes close to the other “clones” of Lafayette street. I’d personally that “rock street” is my favorite so far in terms of longevity and smell.

Just got this as a part of a haul. I did not spray but smelled the atomizer and I already could tell I’m going to love the opening. Fresh citrus with woody background. I’ll wear it and the report back but the three others I got with it are also smelling great, so I’m going to take a while.
