I bought this as a blind buy, simply because it was discounted by the local retailer. It is so very much better than anything I was expecting! I don't normally comment on the bottle and packaging but it might be worth noting that if you intend to give this to someone as a gift, that your trash friends will be very disappointed by the packaging and your upper class friends will be pleased, reassured and comforted by the packaging. The packaging and bottle are devoid of bling but it has another quality, such that if you discovered that your favourite university professor of history, the one who you remember so fondly who always took time to talk to you, treated you with respect despite your stupidity and biked instead of drove on to campus had designed it, you would not be the least bit surprised. Anyway, it smells great. My husband is wearing it. It suits him better than anything I have smelled on him. I don't know if or how that helps you. He is a pure gay, thin, muscular, gigantically bearded, to the masculine side of centre, is a professional woodworker who is obsessed with metal working lathes and repairs and cares for antique pianos as if they were precious elderly long time devoted pet dogs.

It is a very woody rich smell, reminds me of fall season in a deep warm forest, beware of overspraying this fragance, first time I used it I oversprayed and it gave a headache, had to change my clothes, despite that it's a beautiful smell, it has meaning and purpose, enjoy!

Before I stumbled into niche territory this was one that I wore regularly. It's simple but good. I still think it's great value.
