Opera Night

The overture of sweet pear with tart cassis is not always executed successfully, but it is here in a happy concoction together with the gentle orange blossom. The main acts, however, in Opera Night are all about the iris, freesia and orchid (I find that the jasmine is not that prominent) all playing an equal role with the base notes – more a joyful Figaro’s Wedding or Magic Flute than La Traviata or Carmen. It is sweetly beautiful, very easy to wear and suits almost any occasion. Long lasting and good sillage. The gorgeous dramatic black bottle and presentation box do it justice, too. An underrated little gem from Dzintars, just awaiting more attention along with its sisters Opera and Opera Classic. A lovely blind buy bargain.

On my skin, initially a bit sharp with black currant, orange blossom and blended citrusy notes. Reminds me a bit of a perfume I had a long time ago, could it be Magi Noir? After about 30 minutes I detect vanilla and slightly powdery iris. Finally a very pleasant and longlasting drydown with vanilla, musk and well rounded fruity notes - pear, peach and apricot. I can’t smell any cloves. This is a very nice, long-lastning and luxurious scent for the money. A gift from my mother that she brought back from her home country - I’ll proudly wear it in fall and winter.

Not as cloying as similar perfume La Vie Est Belle. An attractive floral and fruity bouquet is created over a rich, sweet cheese cake with licorice. Warming spices make this perfume a good solution for the cold, dark and damp half of the year.

I love the smell, The pear hits me right in the face. With the dry down, I can smell the cloves, the flowers gently play with the musk and vanilla.. I believe this will pair perfectly with Victoria Secret's Pear Glacier. For $35, I can't complain it's not a beast of a perfume but there is charm knowing it won't choke everyone around me. I'm looking forward to trying the flankers. My 16 YO daughter's quote "I smell the orange blossom & vanilla the most, they're mating and mixing their DNA molecules. I suppose for zoomer talk, that's an approval. My daughter doesn't find it to be an old lady scent. (I'm 38) I enjoy this very much. It's unique. Surprisingly, I get a licorice vibe which isn't listed in the notes, but it's there & quite appealing. I did 5 spritzes as it's not that strong. 💓💓

The best of the Operas from Dzintars. ON is deep dark and sweet. It opens plummy sweet and boozy with some tartness from the black currant. The pears and orange blossoms lend some freshness but don’t dominate. The sweet powdery florals dance in the background but the black currant still dominates. The base is a tad spicy and very sweet vanilla. I see the comparison to LVeB in the top and heart but the base is quite different as it lacks the patchouli and praline. This Opera Night has character and “performs and sings” well.

I blind bought this though I typically don't like the scent of cloves. The florals and berries sounded fresh and sweet and this fragrance had the highest reviews on here of all the Dzintars Opera line. Unfortunately the cloves (or what I would actually call a heavy amber scent) take over the scent from beginning. The scent was a little nostalgic for me- I racked my brain thinking where I smelled this. Then I realized it's exactly like Bath & Body Works Vanilla Noir. If you've been missing that scent, you'll love this one. The packaging is adorable. I've got a 3.4 oz 100ml bottle of it I'm parting with if you're interested to try it out yourself!

This perfume is delightful. The quality for the price is exceptional. The silage is good and it lasts. Dries down to a softer and more complex fruity floral. I am really impressed with this buy.

Tried this one. The drydown is very pleasant, with vanilla lasting for the whole eternity.
