Zilite (Желудь)

Oh my goodness! My mother kept this perfume in her handbag. I remember as a young child being fascinated by the acorn-shaped bottle, with the little leather cut-out oak leaves, and I used to play with it. Occasionally she would let me dab a little bit of the perfume on myself. I don't remember much of the scent, only that it was strong and very grown-up smelling. I don't know where she got it from, as we only visited Latvia in 1977, and I am certain my memories of the perfume predate this. I don't know whatever happened to her bottle. I have kept many of her possessions, but sadly not this! Thank you for bringing back this memory! Update: At long last, I have finally found a bottle of Zilite for sale on Etsy, and have purchased it! It is the dark, reddish-brown fragrance with the green leaves, just as my mother had, not the lighter amber-coloured fragrance with the blue leaves. To be honest, I don't really care what the fragrance smells like, as I have no recollection of what my mother's perfume smelled like. The value of this perfume lies in the memories it evokes of my childhood and my Latvian heritage (but I will be interested to smell it, even though I know the fragrance will have degraded over the decades).

I didn't have these lovely perfumes as a child because my mother liked light floral perfumes rather than bitter ones. But over the past few years, out of nostalgia for my childhood, I have purchased several pieces from different sellers. You need to choose light, beige acorns (in reddish-dark ones, musk and bergamot will decompose, and its 30% of the composition, and the perfume will also be beautiful, but in a different way, like too sweet black tea). Beige colored perfume will be in the best condition. It's such a nice bitter scent... There's a little greenery in it, a sweetish coffee made from acorns with milk. This lilac curtsies and remains almost unrecognized. The aroma of early autumn. I see a girl in a beret-acorn cap in a short demi-season coat in the fashion of the 60s or early 70s. I hear light orchestral music and my favorite song "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head".

Funny this... Just looked at the notes... I used to have it as a child - and I still only like the perfumes that have bergamot, white flowers and musk in it... Apparently I had found it myself and always needed to have it in my pencil purse, so that I can smell it....

Just picked up a mini from the 60s. Great clove accord in the opening gives way to inexpensive dry floral chypre similar to many drugstore feminines of the time. Unfortunately the drydown is pure rubber on my skin.
