Rose Tubereuse

Unexpected love! Thanks, Jovoy for throwing this one in! I'm usually cautious about tuberose because of it's bubble gum quality. But this is gorgeous. The exotic rose, balsamics and exotic twists. Totally full bottle worthy! Good value too. Perhaps more of a night scent, although airy enough for daytime. Warm and rich but definitely not cloying or overpowering. Not too heavy on the clove thankfully. It has a vintage quality to it, but the kind I can actually love, the warm balsamic from an ancient time kind of vintage. There's a note here that I really love, I can only describe it as clay. E Coudrey is so underrated. All niche houses have this and it's totally affordable. I remember one trip to a Sloane Square boutique led me to picking this brand out from hundreds of others not even knowing how inexpensive it is. Great quality and value scents.

Well...this wasn't what I was expecting from an E. Coudray perfume! The name and the bottle are misleading, tempting you to anticipate a ladylike, springtime floral. Instead one gets a sexy, spicy rose, with a lovely blend of cloves, patchouli and sandalwood to support the floral notes. The overall effect is somewhat boozy and warm, making it perfect for cooler evenings. Longevity and sillage are both strong. This reminds me a lot of some of the scents in Tauer's Flash series. Definitely worth a sniff.

The overall effect from this perfume is tuberose with dripping honey from its petals. It is dense, thick, syrupy but not cloying. Somehow the sweetness is mastered and is layered with fruits. It has the vintage vibe very typical of the brand. It is diva like perfume and puts me in an elevated mood. Lovely creation.

This is very retro but I loved it! Opens with a burst of clove, ylang and geranium, they get quieter in a while but don't disappear. Nice bouquet of flowers joins in and all together they give that vibe of France and french perfumery epoch. Stayed on clothes for all day. UPD: reminds me very much Fidji EDT.

The clove is very strong, perhaps too strong, overwhelming the other notes apart from rose & tuberose. I will test again in cooler weather, perhaps needs a cold environment to keep this in check and see what else can come out.

This is a really rich, opulent and feminine perfume. Sure the clove is strong and persistent, but I’m a big fan of clove in perfumes. However, they seriously need to redesign their bottles, it looks very dated and kitsch. The owner of E. Coudray sold L.T Piver to another company, which is having a nice revamp at the moment, the website is still under construction but it gives off a little bit of Buly 1803 vibe. While E. Coudray’s website and bottles are still stuck in the early 2000s.....
