Acqua Decima

The words best describing this masterpiece are: REVOLUTION and EVOLUTION. I’m really surprised how fragrance that would seem to be generic actually is different than typical citrus-herb based perfumes and evolves so amazingly on the skin in the course of time. Revolutionary is the silage of citrus notes that are present for hours while in other even very expensing fragrances they are usually gone in minutes after application. The second revolutionary is mint – it can disappear from perfumes even quicker than citruses but here it stays forever. Evolution includes woody notes that are not present at the beginning but after 5-8 hours emerge on skin making the new completely different aura. Woods, woods and more woods which are semi-dark. I don’t believe these are only white woods. In my opinion ebony and cashmere woods are prominent with some touch of cedar. They play together with some not very obvious sweetness – pralines may be? Nevertheless I love it for the summer sunny days.

Acqua Decima. This is a lemon drop type of fragrance. It opens up very bright with a super realistic lemon and mandarin orange notes, which are backed up by a touch of mint, neroli and some faint petitgrain. I really like this fragrance, it is a great summer scent and would probably be in my rotation, however... it does not last at all. First ten minutes are fine, but then it immediately becomes a skin scent. It's overall longevity is about 3 hours, no more. I find this to be highly disappointing. The price is not helping either. So, my final verdict is that the fragrance does have potential, only if it lasted for at least six hours (which is difficult for a citrus based fragrance), maybe then the 105 EUR price tag would be justifiable. Sadly, it is not.

Got mine today (95 ML) on a Dutch sort of Ebay site (Marktplaats.nl) for only 50 Euro's (55 dollars)! It's a typical summery scent that reminds me strangely to a bar of soap my grandmother used to lay between her clothes in de closet to keep them smelling fresh. Strange thing olfactive memory... I like the scent very much and it changes very quickly in the first half an hour. Please don't try on a strip but spray it on your skin and wait for a couple of minutes... It makes you happy. Longevity: neh... just re-apply regularly.

Amazing! Don t let the EDT concentration fool you: it is strong, lasting and potent. Very close to Renaissance and Nio from Xerjoff but more affordable.

Now open a lemon .... a good lemon, not that crap from the supermarket, one of those lemons that are struggling to fit in the palm of a hand, open it and smell ..... take a tangerine but not skimpy of the retina those in the supermarket that you feel the smell from 10 feet, open it and smell it, go into the garden, I'm going to the land of my father, look for plants of mint, here they are ... I hear them from afar ... smell .. now ... imagine a garden, a garden in Positano, overlooking the sea, surrounded by lemon trees mandarin and mint .... here is what the Tenth water ..... is not a cologne water is not the simple water of Cologne ..... it's a glimpse of the garden of Positano ... you can not believe me but close your eyes and smell ..... then may not like it but also smell with their eyes closed .... for the rest, in Italy € 98 100 ml ..... rating 9/10

Clean, natural, raw, discrete, and crisp. I see similarities between Acqua Decima and Acqua Di Parma Original with the difference that ADP Original is more traditional and has a soapy vibe while Acqua Decima is more raw and organic. It also reminds me of Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance with the difference 1861 is a lot more refined. Don't be tricked by the EDT concentration. This is an EDT that performs better than many EDP fragrances. Acqua Decima and Bois D'ombrie are the best offerings from the house of Eau D'Italie. Beautiful stuff. Both are must have in my collection.

A very well done, truly unisex and refreshing summer fragrance, you've got your aromatic herbs giving the masculine edge and bittersweet tangerine playing the feminine part in "Acqua Decima". Non offensive, friendly and truly natural smelling scent that's clearly worth the price tag even though the staying power is not extremely good, but it's decant (5-6 hours), silage is moderate and you'll get whiffs of it all trough it's development. A very simple pleasure.

Very well blended. I get all the listed notes at different stages, but mostly lemon and mint. What I don't get is the "white wood" thing(?!) It has a vintage feel, in the good way, which I like a lot. There's nothing exceptional here, I feel like I smelled it before, it's in the same genre as AdP's, etc. The price tag is exaggerated imo, especially because it's not very long lasting.

Lovely tangerine with a touch of pine, which brings a holiday feeling. The fragrance blossoms dynamically in different shadows. On my skin at some moment it becomes sharpy citrus, then calms down and neroli note becomes more clear. This fragrance is worth exploring, and it's quite tempting, but because of the intensive changes of its shadows i wouldn't recommend it for a blind buy.

A memory of Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur but more aromatic and with a strong predominance of lemon. The mint is deposited later and sweetens this fragrance of late summer. Great elegance.

Nice, lemony summer fragrance. Something to spritz on before heading out on a warm, sunny day.

This has an old-school cologne vibe. It's definitely masculine and would fit a mature gentleman in spring and summer. I was hoping for "a green twist", seeing the mint listed among the notes. And I love mint. However, the mint really does not stand out here. In addition, I prefer my citrus forward perfumes to be more juicy, this one does not work for me. But if you're into traditional colognes, this one will not offend you, but neither amuse you. You have smelled this many times before, nothing new here. Performance is slightly under average for this kind of fragrance. Longevity under 3 hours.

Yeah, on paper I quite liked this. Then I tried it on my skin. It started off nice, though a little sweet for my taste. After fifteen minutes, it turned into a kind of 'older lady perfume'. A little bit fresh, but more floral, a little bit of a nice musk and just too sweet. It smells like you kissed your aunt and afterwards you think 'daaamn, her perfume is stuck on me'.

To me this smells like Heeley added come citrus into his Menthe Fraiche scent....in my opinion Menthe Fraiche did the mint just right....the mint in this scent is VERY comparable, which of course is a good thing. It really is a simple pleasure....citrus and mint....I don't get much else, but I don't need anything else. This is lovely, refreshing and addicting. Everytime I smell my hand or the card I try to smell the citrus through the mint. Sometimes I only get mint and sometimes I get a fantastic lemon and orange with fresh cut mint leaves. Simply bold and happy! I've finally seem to come across a mint scent that I enjoy. Now if only I can get it for $75 or under as I'm not sure it's worth the asking price. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10 Overall: lovely mint scent pushing towards the masculine side. Very refreshing and very summery. Would love to get my hands on a bottle for the right price. EDIT*****: As this dries down, the mint fades becoming part of the background....I would honestly mistake this for Guerlain Homme L'eau but instead of the sharp lime this has a more juicy lemon....delicious.

This leans more on the masculine side of unisex. Acqua Decima opens with zingy lemon, astringent and sharp, no sweetness here. It definitely has an herbal quality, which is the mint shining through, but again, no sweet mint here. Full herbal leafy mint. The mint does plays a peek-a-boo game on my skin. When I look for it all I find is lemon, and then a breeze of mint will waft around my head and surround me. I love it when that happens, although the mint only hangs around for the first hour or so. The only sweetness that does come through is neroli, but again, quite a fresh, masculine, aquatic neroli. Bracing with a sea air smell. The green quality to this fragrance reminds me of Nuit Etoilee by Annick Goutal - they are definitely different fragrances, but the citrus mint freshness has a similar feel. My husband likes this one. I can't tell if he likes it on me, or wants it for himself ;)

This has a lot of natural spearmint, neroli, and petitgrain. It reminds me a little bit of Acqua di Parma's Colonia Club, but it reminds me a LOT of Xerjoff's 1861 Renaissance (as well as Hermes Concentree d'Orange Vert) in that it smells like mint with citrus but in a slightly bitter way. Overall I'm not a huge fan of that scent profile but this is nice if you want a cheaper alternative to the Xerjoff, or something slightly more niche than the Hermes (though all 3 smell similar to my nose). Projection and longevity are moderate. 4/5

This is the scent for light/fresh citrus cologne lovers who crave something a little richer and more complex. It manages to be fresh but also invigorating, aromatic and infused, as if the natural materials were soaked, macerated and concentrated. It's like a deep breath during a walk in humid wood in early spring, with a melange of plants and trees and flowers in perfect scent harmony. A must try for any woody or citrus fan!

I got a sample of this with my purchase. It is nice, but it is a clone copy cat of Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee. It has angelica and immortelle. I think Decimal is being deceptive with the notes, it is much more herbal, surely has angelica, but they only list mint. Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee is equal in quality and performance and can be found on eBay for about $50/ 100 ml, check it out...

This starts out smelling like a gin and tonic with lime. To me, the citrus notes in this come across more like bergamot...or a lemon/lime combo. I don't get much mint in this. The drydown is citruses and vetiver. A nice one for warmer months, leans more masculine. I'm not a fan of the vetiver, so it's a pass for me, but I'd enjoy this on someone else.

Well I must do something odd to perfumes. So many of them turn strange on me. The notes of this sounded so beautiful and refreshing, but on me it was a slightly sour, alcoholic smelling thing, like a long forgotten specimen in a medical museum. I had to scrub it off. I wonder whether my sample was old and had gone bad?
