Graine de Joie

This is juicy! Currant and pomegranate smell wonderful! Definitely a summer scent. It smells similar to Angel Nova imo. It lasted a good 4 hours on me.

What a suprise--Graine de Joie is incredibly pretty. A fruity-floral that is beautifully done. It's interesting how the tangy pomegranate seamlessly segues into a very realistic, fresh bouquet of freesia. Freesia is a note that rarely rings true to the flower, but this is about as realistic of a freesia as I have ever smelled in a perfume. Graine de Joie smells like the most amazing shampoo at first. Clean, fresh, bright, just a tad fruity--but not chemical. As soon as you see "praline" in the notes, you might expect it to go into gourmand territory. But is is never truly gourmand at any point. For the first few hours, you know the praline is there, but it's subtle. It anchors the fragrance and provides some substance, some heft, to it. Praline also prevents the notes from becoming too screechy and sour. The interplay between all of the notes is quite a beautiful balancing act. At times, it conjures the holidays because the tangy pomegranate could pass for cranberry. Mixed with praline, it reminds me of a warm and cozy holiday party, like when you walk into a home, and the oven has been on for hours, and there is a sweet scent in the air (pies, sweet potatoes...) Several hours into wear is when the fruit and florals fade significantly. What remains on my skin smells like fruity chocolate, as though I took a red currant truffle and rubbed it into my wrist. At that point it's almost gone from my skin and time to reapply, so if gourmands aren't "your thing," you need not worry as Graine de Joie remains firmly in the fruity-floral category, and it's truly one of the nicest in that genre.

Graine de Joie fits it's name (Seed of joy). It is a very joyous, sparkling fragrance. I get loads of berries, especially pomegranate. It reminds me of some fruity, fizzy drink, super refreshing. After an hour or two I get this berry compote smell (like @Lovelolitalempicka said), or maybe a jam. I would like to smell it on a woman, really fitting for someone in her early 20's. This lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin with moderate to soft projection (like many Eau D'Italie fragrances). I recommend checking this one out, it is lovely.

I am sure it's their best selling perfume now. Every time I passed by their booth at Esxence I went in a very pleasant cloud of it: fruity and luminous.

I’m surprised how boring this fragrance is. It opens with a slightly tart berry scent and a light floral freesia scent. I appreciate that it's light and more airy (I don't smell the praline or musk and only barely get a tiny hint of the cedar in the dry down) and it's not sweet or cloying. Definitely a light summer fragrance. The overall impression I get is a body spray or air freshener; light, not complex and sort of synthetic. I don’t hate it, I just find the price point extremely surprising. I would be mad to pay more than $30 for a bottle. After an hour it fades to a faint lotiony skin scent and in 2 hours it’s gone completely. There are way more interesting and more beautiful options out there in a simlar vein. I don’t hate this but it’s pretty bland, especially for the price. For reference I do like subtle and delicate fragrances, so it’s not that it’s too light, just the actual scent profile leaves a lot to be desired.

Lasts for about 2 hours on my skin. It starts with a juicy burst of red berries and pomegranate. Over the time, the red currant becomes more prominent and the scent becomes a little too overbearing, a little screechy and unpleasant for my liking.

Graine de Joie smells just as delicious (and yes, joyful!) as I’d expected, but at the same not at all as I’d imagined it based on the list of notes. It’s indeed fruity and juicy, rather sweet and just slightly tart - a grown-up interpretation of the fruity floral theme that I found so irresistible when I was younger and still appreciate now (in my mid-late thirties). But to my nose it smells less like red berries and more like a kind of purple chewy candy with a generic “fruit” flavour that I used to like as a child, although I don’t remember the name. I don’t mean that in a bad way: it doesn’t smell very natural, but that obviously isn’t the intention (with notes like “praline” in the list), and the effect is very nice: it’s reminiscent of the mouthwatering flavour of that candy, but not the synthetic oversweetness of it. I like it a lot, enough to regret that I only got a 5 ml decant, even though I’m sure that will last me a long time (because of the unreasonable size of my decant collection in general on the one hand, and the fact that I don’t reach for this kind of fragrances very often nowadays on the other, however much I like them).

This is such a happy, springy scent! I'm trying this out today and so far after about 2 hours of wear time I'm still getting the tart, berry scent with the shampoo-like freesia and floral notes. Immediately when I put this on I felt like I just stepped out of the shower after washing my hair and slipped on a delicate linen dress to frolic around in a field. Very light, fresh, youthful, and almost nostalgic. It reminds me of how my mom smelled when I was younger-- she wore Clinique Happy most of the time, which is not really that similar to this, but invokes the same feelings of comfort and joy. This is a really nice scent that I'll enjoy my sample of, but probably will not purchase a full bottle of because I feel like it's too similar to my bottle of Lanvin Jeanne Blossom.

This is a very delicate composition. It's all about both sweet and sour pomegranate, and red currant. It's lovely. The pomegranate and the red currant is beautifully supported by a perfect amount of sweetness, which says 'praline', but honestly, I could never for my life tell what it was. It doesn't have anything cacao about it. It's not dusty. It's quite bright. I steal a beautiful word from a previous review, luminous. Just a perfect spring fragrance. Leans feminine, but I think the pomegranate is also somehow unisex. I love to wear this for myself, just because I think it's a beautiful composition.

People are right that it’s conceptually boring, but I find it really pretty for what it is. Tart, non-specific red fruit (maybe raspberry, I could kind of see pomegranate) and freesia. There’s no hidden message or symbolism or clever juxtaposition of notes here: fruits and flowers. It’s well done though and if you wanted something fruit that leans more bright and sour instead of heavy and sweet, this does that well. People will just think you smell clean — like fancy body wash or something. Very inoffensive.

It smells like tasty, sour, fresh red berries-like flavors, that remind me of edible fruity sodas. yes, maybe it is boring or a common scent like fruity shampoos or body wash products. but It is an uncommon scent in perfume sections that rarely mimics the real fruity, edible scent (flavors). (I think there should be more fresh and edible-like fruits in the perfumery) If you are looking for a simple fruity fresh juice, It is the one for you. I really like this even though the price is ludicrous.

I really only get berries from this. It's very, very fruity - it reminds me of Robinson's diluting juice. Nothing else really happens on my skin. Sweet berries start to finish. It doesn't smell unpleasant (although I do find the sheer volume of fruits a bit much), but it does smell like it's much cheaper than it is. It's got excellent longevity and good sillage, but to me, it just isn't worth the money it costs. I'm sure there are far cheaper berry perfumes on the market.

I got a sample from this from the Scent Bar. To me, this smells like the Flinestone’s chewable vitamin tablets—not a bad thing at all, tart, and sweetened by the praline note. If you like pomegranate and berries then this is the perfume for you. A nice, enjoyable fragrance for a teen or woman. Longevity (at least from the sample I got) was very mild.

Red berried, floral musk. Light and very pretty for the Italian coastal temperatures I'm sure, but for me as an all-four seasons American, smells more like an after-shower bath & body spray. Wish there were deeper base notes to fix this onto a more luxuriant category, but works perfectly well as a sweet fruity-floral freshie.

Ok, I have no complaints about Graine de Joie except this: it's too top-heavy. Those top notes are very red, very fruity, but the musk and cedar base notes are so weak it's like they aren't even there. Overall, it might be nice if worn with something else, something with stronger base notes, but not alone.

Bought a luckyscent pack where the employee chooses the samples for you. This is the only one I wasn't a huge fan of, since I'm not really into berry fragrances. Not a bad fragrance at all, just not my cup of tea : a very simple pomegranate/berry/red fruit smell, nothing complex

Aw now you see, this is nice. No real complaints for thus. It may be the fact that I recieved a decant as a surprise, or the fact that I quite love it, but it just makes my nose and brain tingle. So very pleasant.

Out of this world...very different from french juices! Very fruity, my wife loves it!
