Fresh sliced juicy lemons and effervescent grapefruit zest. Medium thickness from shampoo that's not soapy. Quality blue marine chord despite being reminiscent of a men's department store. Surprising complexity for such a fresh scent. Cypress, vetiver, and musk subtlety contrasts bright notes exquisitely. Good strength. Clothes project more dankly sumptuous rain-soaked green watermelon rind, raw basil, and bitter orange. Citrus and blue combine and both sing instead of fight each other. While a tasteful musky wood note tries to restrain. The blue note is a little too generic men's cologne despite being insanely alluring. 1ST REVIEW: Opens with luscious, dewy green, sunny fresh citrus, and herbaceous basil. There’s a creamy warmth keeping it soft and appealing instead of sharp and intense. Sweet vetiver is not cloying, adding balance and depth (instead of wood). Dry down blends into dreamy blue and fresh grass perfection. Unfortunately light projection/strength, but obsessed enough to need a bottle.

Be aware that the Eau de Toillete, the one with the green typographic front, had been phased out and replaced by the Eau de Parfum, the mostly white bottle. Both versions are still very much related. Opens citrusy, green and slightly herbal. Both are elegant, quite refreshing and definitely spring/summer friendly. The new EDP is more rounded with all of the green elements slightly toned down. The pink pepper, slightly sweet airy vetiver and musk are much more prominent. The EDT is brighter, sharper, has that grassy/green onion vibe and more herbal. And, as the concentration suggests, it has a much more watery feel. They really do have a significant overlap but I do find the difference enough to warrant owning both. If both concentrations were actually available, I’m not sure which one I would choose but the EDP wins by a very very small margin.

I do love this! Apt name, this fragrance indeed reminds me of a garden. A spring garden, with cool greens, some dew in the air, and not much blooming flowers. It is a young garden, not yet beaten by the constant summer hot rays. Perfectly unisex. Is it fleeting? Yes. Does it project? Barely. At the regular price, I couldn’t justify buying a full bottle. But you can find it quite easily on second hand market under $100. It allowed me to buy a back up bottle and not feel too bad about re-applying it during the day! It is on my top shelf of greens with Diptyque’s Venise and Apsu.

As someone who likes these fleeting green fragrances it’s very nice. It was recommended to me by a perfume shop when I mentioned wanting a fragrance with tomato. I took home a sample it is IS lovely - a bright tomato/citrus/green/aquatic fragrance. It would fit right in with the Hermes Jardins if you like those. However the price of $170+tax is way, way too high for the longevity and sillage. I’d gladly pay $80-$100 not nearly $200 for something that only lasts a brief while? Not for me, thanks.

This scent reminds me on the smellof tomato green leavs even if they list basil, angelica and immortal... I could sware that is green tomato lives. Anyway it is so nice refreshing and perfect especially for Italian hot summer.

1 of the best spring clean fragrance but the probleme is the silage stay realy close to the skin after 30min on you but wow factor is there masterpiece for sure but miss some power sadly!!!

This really does take me to a garden - vegetables, herbs & fruit flowers. The vetiver dry-down stays with you for some time making this a long form piece of literature.

I agree. A very suitable fragrance to wear if you are to attend a Southern European garden party whilst wearing linen.

ENG / The first impression of Jardin du Poete is fresh, citrusy, and unconventional, thanks to the basil and the support of a green vetiver that accompanies the entire lifespan of the fragrance, and unfortunately, remains alone in the end. The evolution is rapid, and the longevity is short. After the citrus notes fly away in a few minutes, the distinct scents of immortelle and angelica remain, creating the most masculine and warm moment of the perfume, then, predominantly, a delightful herbal vetiver lingers, slowly lowering the curtain. The impact is positive, it has the elegance of a well-tailored linen suit. It is an intimate act, a silent companion for a lazy summer day spent in a Mediterranean garden, savoring the fresh air. Greater longevity and structure would have made it a sure purchase for me. I recommend it to those who seek a fragrance that doesn't scream for attention ostentatiously. ITA / Il primo impatto con Jardin du Poete è fresco, agrumato e non scontato, grazie al basilico e al sostegno di un vetiver verde che accompagna tutta la vita della fragranza, rimanendo ahimè, alla fine solo. L'evoluzione è rapida e la longevità corta, volati via gli agrumi, in pochi minuti, rimangono distinte l'immortelle e l'angelica nel momento più maschile e caldo del profumo, poi rimane prevalentemente un buonissimo vetiver erbaceo che cala lentamente il sipario. L'impatto è positivo, ha l'eleganza di un buon completo di lino, è un atto intimo, un compagno silenzioso per una pigra giornata estiva trascorsa in un giardino mediterraneo a lettere e a godersi un po' di aria fresca. Maggiore longevità e struttura l'avrebbero reso un acquisto sicuro per me, lo consiglio a chi cerca una fragranza che non grida e non cerca attenzioni ostentatamente.

I agree with @Baltabarin: Jardin du Poète feels like wearing a white linen suit to a European garden party. It’s a refined, classic citrus-cologne profile with bright basil and grapefruit top notes before a really nice angelica and immortelle take over—there’s no tomato leaf listed, but you get a hint of that herbaceous, stemmy green plant flavour. From that fresh, aromatic opening it dries down to a warmer cedar-vetiver musk that’s quiet and grassy but sticks around for a surprisingly long time. I’d say it’s similar to Profumum Roma’s Ichnusa in its herb-garden leafiness and to Vilhelm’s Basilico & Fellini with its equally green citrus-basil notes, but it lasts longer than Ichnusa and I like the drydown better than the soapy violet of B&F. It’s too bad they discontinued the EDT version, though—I like its more typographic bottle design better.

Modern, cheerful, individual and exuberant. Opens with just-pierced, just-ripe clementine rind; that citrusy-sharp verging on greenish/bitter scent. Just wonderful. Stays pretty consistently exactly that through the dry-down; no surprises. For me that unfortunately does become a little boring/tedious, even though it's such a lovely note. Eventually becomes slightly less sharp; perhaps ever so slightly more imprecise, and ever very so *slightly* sweeter. For me it's barely noticeable though. There also is a very notable tomato-leaf note (not basil) that comes and goes as well, throughout and from the start, edging out the clementine rind on occasion. Due to the name I had imagined a more languid, reserved, even melancholy frag. Not that at all lol, and in a good way.

Jardin du Poete (Garden of Poets) is a super refreshing citrus scent, yet due to the mix of basil, angelica and immortelle, I get this cucumber water smell from it with some carrots (at least at the top). Soon it dries down to this bitter, woody cypress scent with the citruses still persisting. Lasts about 5 hours on my skin with very soft projection. I find it interesting, contemporary, yet too fleeting to warrant a full bottle. Bertrand Duchaufour creates pleasing and unique scents, too bad so many of them have performance issues. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Do try it out though and enjoy that journey through the Garden of Poets.

This is the perfect fragrance for warm, sunny days/balmy evenings, linen shirts and fedora's. The only disappointment is that (on me) the fragrance is so short lived. You get the lovely, intense (not over powering) top notes but there is very little under the surface. Unless you are willing to carry the bottle around with you, after a liberal application you can expect it to last approximately two hours. I wouldn't buy it again because of this but I am enjoying it immensely while it lasts.

A beautiful, herbaceous green scent. It performs mostly bitter and green on my skin- I get the basil and either tomato leaf or something similar. Low projection, and very low longevity. I get a little bit of citrus and something a bit sweet late in the dry down but it’s hard to distinguish specific notes because it gets so faint so fast. Smells amazing, but considering that you’d have to reapply two or three times in a day every 2-3 hours a full bottle is way too expensive.

I was surprised, it amazed me this perfume, basil, bitter orange, grapefruit, angelica, vetiver and cypress ... for me these are the most influential notes, each of which is open during the hours is fantastic .... apprezzatela calmly in the chaos of the city and not a race ..... smell of perfume, smell the hand wrist arm, after hearing the notes TRUE ...... there is reality in this scent .... very Italian ..... for more price 98 € 100 ml rating 9/10

It opens with grapefruit, and probably one of the most realistic grapefruit I've ever smelled. It reminded me of L'Eau D'Issey in a way. Then a green herbal scent starts to appear, it becomes more rustic and earthy. The vetyver and sandalwood makes it a little more masculine, but just slightly, sice the sillage is quite soft. So far this is not a surprising fragrance, nice green, fresh. But not something new. Basically grapefruit and green/woods.

Aquatic citrus. Sharp, clean opening, full of greenery with all the angelica, basil, and pink pepper. The combination of zesty grapefruit and the aromatic herbs is very refreshing and enjoyable. The pepper and musk give it a refinement - a very good use of pink pepper, a note I usually dislike. Unfortunately, from the middle of the development on it fades into a bland aquatic little nothing. Pleasant and likeable but not particularly memorable.

A wonderful complex citrus fragrance! Very fresh and snappy citrus notes mixed with some bitterness and spice. Notes pretty much exactly match the smell. My partner described it as having a gin and tonic in the kitchen with the windows open in the summer. This would make a great gift for anyone that likes the smell of a fresh garden.

For me, it is a super-fresh herbaceous fragrance. Tomato leaves - yes. Citrus: Yes, but only to provide extra juice for herbs. Is it the same as Hermes Mr. Li? No, as Mr. Li has too much amberwood. And it is not similar to Mugler cologne at all. I have nothing to compare with this one. Its simply great.

I love how fresh and true to life the opening of this is, feels like walking through a garden fully in bloom with the sun beating down on it in the middle of the summertime. Alas, this lasts literally just a few minutes on my skin BIG SAD
