Rebelle Chic

Hi, In the last phase Tha Marshmallow is very dominant, but it is not a sweet one but a very sour almost bitter scent because of the Patchouli.

Eau Jeune, I gather, is similar to Jeanne Arthes in price point and availability (in France). However, in the US these are a bit harder to come by and more expensive. I'd been interested in trying some scents from this brand for a while, but I wasn't really up for paying $40-$50 for a drugstore perfume. Even if it's FROM FRANCE. Lucky for me that I found this and L'Orientale for about $4 a piece. Snatched that. The notes list was a bit "ehhh" to me because I don't really love sweet scents. Or fruity scents. Or sweet+fruity+patchouli. But I was like "$4!! Get over it!" Objectively, I think this is a pleasant scent. The cranberry and bergamot top notes are more unique than the usual raspberry used to top off a fruitchouli. The marshmallow note is dominant. Fluffy sweetness that doesn't smell like sugar melting on plastic. The drydown is a vanilla-tonka-patchouli affair similar to Coco Mademoiselle and other perfumes that smell like Coco Mademoiselle. So it's not really special, but it is a respectable addition to this genre which is not my favorite genre. I bet teenaged girls love this. Or anyone who likes Coco Mad but wants to save some skrilla. Longevity is pretty good and sillage is moderate.

When it's black currant And tonka Bean-it just can't be bad!! And it is amazing. At first I wasn't impressed, but Now after a while.. I'm in love!!! :) Tonkapapu ja mustaherukka eivät petä koskaan, kuten ei tälläkään kertaa. Aivan ihana. Rakastuin vähän viiveellä :)

I have tested it this morning , and it seems to me that it is more or less a "diet" version of "Flower bomb" , less sweet, more gentle , more fruity . It's nice , but i wouldn't buy it . Nevertheless if i was gifted it , i would wear it with pleasure .

I have tested it a few hours ago,and for me it smells like Coco Mademoiselle and unfortunately I don't like it !

I think the way the fragrance is described above says it all : "brash" for "sassy and brave girls"... It is definitely "rebelle" in the sense that the way it smells reflects a spontaneous, the devil may care, almost anarchic personality. The notes seem to fuse in different directions, unconcerned about harmonious cohabitation... There is an overdose of sweet yet almost acrid berries, a lusciously provocative orchidea finds herself next to almost childish and whimsical candy-like sweet notes ( vanilla and marshmallow)then a bitter, masculine patchouli joins in... why not? the more, the merrier! It has a free spirited, take-it-or-live-it,make-or-break attitude. It is also strikingly fresh. I have no idea which note(s)this can be attributed to, but I almost feel a cool breeze blowing around me after I have sprayed some on. On the other hand, it is by no means a light fragrance ( well, chypres hardly ever play in the wallflower league). Some will even call it a nose puncher. It has lots of sillage and a very decent longevity for an Eau Jeune fragrance, this brand not being renowned for the lasting power of its scents. Is it "chic" ? Well, in a way, a very modern rock chic way I suppose, yes.You probably saw pictures of Kristen Stewart pairing a designer dress with trainers because she was just fed up with the compulsory red carpet high heels...And it works.That kind of chic. One reviewer finds similarities between this and Coco Mademoiselle. In the drydown, yes, a little bit. But on the whole, I think it smells like a cross between Angel and Euphoria. I have told you, it is not for the faint of heart.

I recently bought a new bottle of this and I think if you like YSL Mon Paris it is more than likely that you will enjoy this one too. Not a dupe but both chypre fruity fragrances with the same structure and atmosphere. RC may have less depth ( I would say that it feels less "crowded") . On the other hand, the berries in the top notes have a much more nuanced and subtle feel than in MP. By the way, RC has melon among its top notes ( MP has calone).

Eau jeune makes another rebelle: « street rebelle ». Can’t find it in the date base. Delicate toasted almonds with tonka bean. Shy but delightful. Now for this one. It summarizes for a few euros all the lovely repetitive girly fruity patchoulies I met. They are all good, interchangeable, I don’t need collection. This one is good and easy. Another example would be She’s Mine La Rive. No brainer.
