Boozy Patchouli

I agree with everyone else, it does have a very camphorous quality. It reminds me of working in a bar in the late afternoon, maybe you spilled a drink on the counter and there was musc to the alcohol. Very animalistic, while also keeping the notes of citrus alive. You can smell the patchouli, but it is a damp patchouli that attacks the nose on first contact. It dissipates and leaves the notes of the bar after 1 am. I find it to be refreshing, and can wear it almost any night throughout the year. I highly recommend trying to use less before using more, the first few nights I was wearing it I felt as if it was intoxicating myself

Gorgeous! It is a bit camphorous, at first, then you get deliciousness and rosy warmth. I love it. It’s very high quality, you don’t get anything cheap here. No, it isn’t booze, but it smells like a French Café late at night, and the smell of perfume mixed with spilled alcohol. Use sparingly and you won’t be disappointed.

I don't know if I am anosmic to something in here, but all I smell is a very light, slightly musty smell. There is the slightest hint of citrus. I love patchouli normally, so I am a bit disappointed. I don't smell any rose. Bummer. Update: I have done a few more wear tests, and this has grown on me. Once, this dries down it is an earthy patchouli with a touch of rose It is comforting and a good fit for times when I am feeling mellow. I think it works if you give it 30 minutes to settle.

It's 6 PM on a summer Saturday in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. After a day outside in the sun, you freshen up and go to an old school supper club. Everything inside is dark, wooden, and at least 50 years old. The drink of choice? Old fashioneds. If you try, you can catch a faint whiff of bug spray from the air outside, but it's nice and adds to the overall vibe. This isn't for everyone, but I'm a fan. Good longevity and sillage, surprisingly light in hot weather.

I agree there's no booze or patchouli, but there is a unique camphor quality under all the citrus.

TLDR this is a first. I am actually offended by a cologne. I have not one positive thing to say about this “product”. Yet another case of false advertising and to add insult to injury this stuff is awful. Not in a get it off of me, get it off of me this instant kind of way. That honor goes to patchouli magnetik. Florals so strong they could knock a buzzard off of a shit wagon. No. This is nondescript, insipid dreck, a serious disappointment. This is the third patchouli fragrance that I have tried that has zero patchouli in it. It vacillates between dishwater spice and generic floral. What a snooze fest. This belongs in the drugstores for twenty bucks and even then I still would not purchase it. Never forget the name Pascal Gaurin or the executive team that brought this swill to market. This is their creation. They should be ashamed of themselves for developing this complete nothing of a product, making money off of it and the cardinal sin, wasting our time. 210 decants and counting. This is the only one that went into the trash. ISIPCA needs to review its standards because if this fragrance were my child they would be disowned. If I were him I would take down my name and headshot. Shave myself bald. Then walk the earth barefoot seeking penance from the poor souls I inflicted this vacuous schlock on. Refund their money. Then grovel at their feet for wasting time that can never be given back. Once that is done join a monastery, take a vow of silence and never meddle in fragrances again. There simply is no other way. A funny thing happened on the way to the trashcan. I ended up layering this with Perris Monte Carlo’s Musk because evidently more often than not musk is not my thing. My thought process was perhaps the weak spice in the BP would add a little something to the musk. I was correct. The combination was quite nice actually. I guess one really can polish a turd 🤷🏼 but I don’t recommend it. Now, to put all of this nasty business behind us here are a few recommendations of patchouli fragrances that one may want to try if one were so inclined. Perris Monte Carlo Patchouli Nosy Be. Not your standard patchouli it is very woody and it is outstanding. Voskanian Parfums Patchouli et Memories. What boozy patchouli wishes it was Voyages Imaginares L'Eau des Immortels. Complex very nice, spicy. I will be purchasing a bottle when my sample is done. Profumum Roma Patchouly. Probably my favorite. Quintessential. Franck Boclet Patchouli. Best priced esp. from discounters. Not the best longevity but for the price. Spray away. Nice and spicy Jovoy. Chocolate cake patchouli. Check it out. Les Nereides Patchouli Antique. Delicate, a little floral. It is definitely a feminine scent but I like it so I wear it. Honorable mention: Patchouli Leaves from Montale. Good price at the discounters. Outstanding performance. There is a little something in the opening that I find a little off, musty perhaps. But it fades and one is left with a nice sold patchouli. Reminiscence Patchouli. Patchouli and musk. I have come to dislike it. As much as I want to like this and musk in general. On the whole I dislike musk so it follows I won’t like the combination. But if you like musk, check it out. There is a reason they have been making it for 55 years.

First impressions: Medicinal, camphoraceous, slightly woody. Faint citrus. Will update on subsequent wearings if I get any boozy patchouli. Right now, none. OK, over a year later in cooler weather. Peppery citrusy woodsy *clean* patchouli. Boozy? Not really. Maybe like a gin & tonic aromatic except clean woodsiness instead of juniper.

Smells like a spilled drink on a warm sticky day. It’s sweet and I definitely get that punch from the citrus top notes. I also smell the rose! This is another scent I thoroughly enjoyed.

Yawns. Smells neither boozy nor like patchouli.
