First Impression Sintra is one of those fragrances that doesn’t try to impress with complexity or volume. Instead, it creates a state of mind. It smells composed, quiet, and emotionally restorative. The opening is a burst of natural citrus—bergamot and lemon—but they’re immediately softened. There is no harsh acidity or “cleaning product” effect. Instead, the citrus feels diffused, almost as if filtered through morning mist. Very quickly, lavender appears—not in the traditional fougère sense, but as an aromatic breeze. The lavender is paired with mimosa, and that combination defines the fragrance. Mimosa contributes a delicate floral sweetness and a soft, powdery warmth, while lavender keeps everything airy and tranquil. Together, they create an accord that is simply beautiful—calming, luminous, and effortlessly elegant. The heart never becomes overtly floral. Instead, it transitions into one of the perfume’s most elegant features: orris root. Rather than cosmetic lipstick powder, the orris provides a cool, dry texture—like finely woven linen or brushed suede. The base is restrained and exceptionally refined. Musk is clean but never laundry-like, sandalwood is smooth and creamy without becoming milky, and vetiver quietly anchors everything with a subtle earthy freshness. The watery accord remains present throughout, giving the perfume remarkable transparency. The Atmosphere This is not a perfume that fills a room. It’s the scent of: * Fresh white linen drying in a Mediterranean breeze. * Sunlight filtering through sheer curtains. * A peaceful morning before the day begins. * Walking through a botanical garden after a light rain. Everything feels natural, breathable, and calm. Performance On my skin, performance is surprisingly good for a fragrance with such an airy character. * Moderate projection during the first hour. * Then it settles into a soft, elegant aura close to the skin. * Around 6–8 hours of wear, depending on skin chemistry. This isn’t designed to announce itself. It’s designed to stay with you. What Makes It Special Many fresh fragrances rely on loud citrus or oversized synthetic musks. Sintra takes another route. The mimosa and orris introduce softness and texture, while lavender provides calm instead of sharpness. The result is fresh, but emotionally warm. It feels less like wearing perfume and more like wearing an exceptionally beautiful natural fabric. Final Thoughts Sintra succeeds because it never overreaches. Every note serves the same purpose: creating serenity. The citrus brightens, the lavender calms, the mimosa softens, the orris refines, and the musk leaves the impression of clean, warm skin. It doesn’t ask for attention. It simply creates an atmosphere—one that feels peaceful, elegant, and quietly beautiful. It’s the kind of fragrance you wear for yourself rather than for compliments. Ironically, those are often the fragrances people remember most.

I really like this fragrance— it’s light enough that I’d feel comfortable spraying 3 or 4 sprays before going anywhere, but it has a surprising lasting power for such a subtle fragrance. I think its spillage is pretty weak, but I enjoy it just for myself anyway. The smell itself is hard to define- lightly floral, lightly citrusy, but with a base that gives it a buttery and addictive oomph. I imagine that’s the orris. The only reason it’s not a love for me is that it’s so quiet, but that’s also one of the things I like about it— it’s a safe choice anywhere.

This smells like I borrowed my really handsome boyfriends hoodie. Smells like the last colonge he wore and his pharamones and mine mixed together on a rainy day. When I first smelled this I strongly disliked it. The incense was intense but faded. I think it is a mood for sure. I've heard it described as hotel lobby and can agree with that also. Very Unisex. Kinda reminds me of Hollister in the 2000's. Has a meloncoly feel in the best way.

Oh wow... I am actually blushing. There’s something about Sintra that makes me want to kick my feet and giggle. It’s such an intimate and playful floral musk. The florals feel light and airy, while the base gives this slightly dirty skin vibe in the best way possible. I’m obsessed. It shot straight to the top of my wishlist.

I loved this in the store but I had been smelling stuff all morning and this felt light and cut through all the BS. I got a sample and forgot about it until today when I gave it a go. The initial citrus is confusing, it’s almost as if the lemon destroys the magic of the bergamot and vice versa. I get almost no floral notes at all. A very slight mimosa maybe but I think its masked by the citrus because after the citrus goes away (10 mins or so) I get a heavy waxy orris and vetiver mix that, again, as a combo misses the mark for both notes to shine. I get a bit of lavendar at this point which normally I love but I agree with whoever said it has a synthetic vibe because I think thats the issue for me. I wanted to love this and initially I did. I’ll update if things change but as of right now I’m sorry to say it’s not great. Also it’s nearly undetectable after 20 mins.

Oof, this is very much not for me. I did not like the sample I got when I sprayed it on paper, but I thought I'd give it a chance on the skin anyway. I have had it on my hand for a few hours and so far, it has not gone through any changes. It simply smells like that super synthetic air freshener scent that is common in urinal cakes and public restroom soaps. The first whiff reminds me of the pink car freshener from Little Tree. Everything listed in the top and middle notes appears to be happening at the same time, and the base notes seem to be nonexistent—at least on my skin. I can't tell if this stuff is super strong because I might just be extra aware of it due to not liking it. Either my nose can't get used to it, or it has great sillage. I want to wash it off but I am too curious if the base notes are ever going to appear. I think this would probably be the type of fragrance that gives people headaches. I feel bad because this is the only review and it isn't a good one, so I hope somebody else chimes in with another opinion.

Based on reviews and notes (I like powdery, masculine-leaning, woods with citrus etc), I thought this would be awesome and long lasting. It isn't. Maybe it is a body chemistry thing, but it is also underwhelming on clothes or sprayed on paper. I get almost none of the notes (no musk, no lavandin, no sandalwood) - I do get an initial generic green note and a little orris and then it is almost like nothing. A sweet, generic green note that is close to the skin and fades to almost nothing within 10 minutes. So disappointed.

As KathleenLights said in a recent video, this is a "hotel lobby fragrance" (if you arent a fan of this subgenre, you will not like this). To me this is so luxurious! It's familiar but not in a way where I can think of anything similar to it... It's Sexy with a capital S. Red dress hot date type of scent. But it's also so calming and serene that it can be enjoyed at home on a cosy day as well. Some might get incense-y sandalwood and because of that they may call this masculine but categorically, it's a true unisex. And this bb lasts forever!! Bonus points for the brands M.O. around intentionality and sustainability. Estée Lauder and Loréal: Hands off !!!!! You make enough!!! Go away !!!

Meh. I was at a perfume event and someone sprayed it on my arm. Back then it smelled really fresh and lovely, light and citrusy, and I like it so much that I bought a bottle. Once I got home it was a different story. There's something heavy or musty in this one that reminds me of dust or something old. Kind of like oud but also not. Oud and a bit of saliva maybe? It's not completely awful but I do regret getting it and will not keep it.

this smells like exactly like baby powder with a bit of incense to my nose. maybe adult baby powder. its not really citrusy to me, which was a shame bc i was looking forward to a beautiful citrusy scent. i find that the scent lingers around for quite some time, and usually perfumes dont last on me. the dry down is a very slight powdery, musky scent. beautiful scent either way, but the baby powder resemblance threw me off a bit.

I agree with the comment that said this fragrance is light! I do think that the bright notes give it levity and freshness. That said, out of the sample set this is the one that I think doesn’t mix best with own personal chemistry. My skin makes the acidic notes super sharp. I think I’d love this on my boyfriend though.

Surprisingly sweet. Smells like a lavender citrus gummy.
