Vanilla Embers

I am in love. This has such a unique vanilla tone to it. The cardamom, orange flower and upcycled turmeric gives it such a different vibe. Very hard to explain. It has a spicy, almost woody warmth to it that makes you feel so warm and cozy but still has that little oomph to lift your spirits and capture the attention of those who are close to you. Definitely one of my favorite new fragrances to date and I have quite an extensive collection of both designer and niche. The owners of this company are also extremely engaged and kind. I emailed them regarding something about my order and they were extremely friendly and accommodating. Love the mission of this company to be eco friendly and promote recycling and sustainability.

For reference: I’m a woman in her late 40’s, and I got this as a sample size. I chose this based on reviews, and the notes listed. Opens lightly as a vanilla floral with gentle spices. As it dries down, the spices come softly forward, creating a pleasant medley. Slightly more creamy and spicy/woody than sweet. Gentle and lovely from beginning to end. Stays intimate throughout. This would be good for day or night, casual wear or date night. It’s slightly more cold weather-leaning, but could honestly be worn any time of year. The only negative is that it only lasts a couple of hours, so will need to be reapplied. Love this! Will be getting more.

A beautiful, warm, spiced, white floral vanilla. This fragrance made me emotional when I first smelled it cause something about it was so nostalgic and comforting to me. I wouldn’t call this gourmand and I think it’s a great option for anyone looking for a non-cupcake vanilla. It’s at the very top of my wishlist right now!

When I got this perfume, I imagined a scent like By The Fireplace--smoky, spicy, something very warm. This scent is Very different from that, but I love it. There is very little trace of smoke and it is much sweeter to my nose. This isn't quite a gourmand vanilla, but it is extremely cozy and comforting.

A spicy sweet vanilla that is NOT too vanilla. Absolutely gorgeous and addicting.

I've been trying this out for about 2 weeks, and I really like the drydown of it once it finally settles. It's very skin-vanilla and fresh, but not too soapy or perfumey. The jasmine is so strong at the start and I have to remind myself how good the drydown gets. It also doesn't last the whole day which is a shame. I get maybe 3 hours of the beautiful drydown I love. But I love the brand and how in depth they go in explaining the ingredients. They seem like a very honest, forthright, and considerate brand with their recycling practices and transparency.

Ahh, been searching for a vanilla that's NOT gourmand, and this is really great!! I liked it better on paper - on me it falls a little flat and isn't as warm as I'd like it to be. BUT I remain intrigued by this and Akro Glow and may have to spend more time with both... the vanilla search continues!!

kerosene & Amber, but fresh and musky.

Reminds me of that sharp 90's musky vanilla mixed with a modern creamy vanilla extract. A little too much of the former imo.

I won’t bend myself into a pretzel to try to like this fragrance. Weak, bland, powdery, and vanishes like a fart in the wind. Glad I only got a decant of this. It was a waste of finger effort pressing the atomizer.

I’d describe this as a perfumey gourmand. It approaches edible sweetness but stops just before it reaches it. To make it well rounded, it has some beautiful floral notes. I’d describe it as a skin scent that’s intimate. It’s not going to project super far, but the people who hug you are in for a treat. It’s nostalgic but elegant and one of the most used perfumes in my collection.

Oh wow, this smells a lot like Tender Romance from Ralph Lauren, but less powdery. If you're sad it's discontinued, I recommend giving this a try. Lasting power is great. There's a freshness to it that's fruity, and like the sweet ginger in Tender Romance (maybe it's the turmeric?), and I definitely get the woodiness immediately.
