Alexandrite N Patchouli

This one is beautiful and completely addictive. I did not expect to fall in love with a sample the way I did here - and yet I very quickly found myself buying a full bottle. I had tested this a while back because a friend loved it, but on first sniff it didn’t grab me. Looking back, I don’t think I gave the drydown the attention it deserves, because that’s where the real magic lives. This is not a dirty or muddy patchouli at all (which I actually enjoy, but this is different). Instead, it’s a fresh, refined patchouli, beautifully grounded by the supporting notes and lifted with an almost bubbly brightness. The mimosa adds a soft, airy glow that keeps everything feeling light and modern, rather than heavy or dense. It’s hard to explain, but once it settles, it becomes incredibly moreish - the kind of scent you keep going back to, catching whiffs of yourself and wondering why it smells so good. Effortless, elegant, and quietly intoxicating.

Such a beautiful and sophisticated fragrance! Very much slept on. It’s refined patchouli. No hippie or earthy dirty stuff in here. It almost has a mentholated or licorice-y facet to it. But very subtle, of course! Ugh it’s so beautiful!!! I think it’s great for year round. Though because it is such a unique creation, I’d say it’s not an everyday fragrance. More like a special occasion. Absolutely beautiful but it is a MUST SAMPLE before blind buying!

This one suprised me, with the patchouli I mean, usually can be overwhelming but not here, this is so good and unique. So smooth and clean. Even for me and I usually lean into more feminine scents.

I didn't expect to like this but Chris at The Perfume Nest mentioned it as a huge compliment getter and I have an EBK discovery set that had been put aside last year, in favour of other perfumes (I bought it for D&DY). Whilst the patchouli is of course the main note, it has a fresh, limey feel to me, must be the bergamot but it stays through the wear for me and this is still on one of my scarves after 3 weeks. I can't see why one can't wear this most of the year, as it's really in the amount you spray (one will do it) and I love to layer Bal D'Afrique over it; a match made in Heaven!

A high quality perfume, yes. Very well blended, elegant and seductive. It is very similar to Chanel's Coromandel.

Like most EBK fragrances the performance of this is incredible. A very strong scent, that I'd say works best in the colder months. Day or night up to you. I'd prefer this on a man, but it is unisex. If you love powerful, sophisticated scents that have a prominent note of patchouli then this is for you. I'm not the biggest fan of patchouli so this is not one I'd consider adding to my collection.

Very masculine & a near dupe for BR540 to my nose.

I adore this scent. It smells like the sweet, slightly spicy, top of a baby’s head. I get the patchouli, which is remarkably clean and not “sweaty” or dirty smelling like some patchouli gets. I also pick up the cotton flower (this isn’t overly detergent like, thankfully) and the mimosa. I was honestly worried with all the powdery notes in this (cotton flower, mimosa, orris, musk, linen, ambroxan) that this would smell like an old lady, or baby powder. It’s neither, but what it is, is an addictive and unique scent that I cannot wait to wear again.
