Agenda

Agenda is a vanilla fragrance made by Eclectic Collections. Normally I don’t like to talk about specific companies (or really care to), but if I am not mistaken, I think EC is a ‘fairly’ new company, and Agenda is one of their older fragrances. I believe this can be seen in their design of the bottle and box that Agenda comes in - which is extremely cheap. This is not a knock at the fragrance itself - or really a knock at all - it just looks cheap. The box looks like some kind of bad book design, with pages appearing on the side (if I have that right), and the bottle is plastic encased in a wider piece of plastic. Not that I mind plastic - it’s just that the bottle is so incredibly wide that I have to use two hands literally to spray this on myself. By the time I get one hand wrapped around the bottle to pick it up, my index finger is not long enough to reach the sprayer! My hands aren’t Johnny Bench hands by any means, but they’re not baby hands either. Anyway, Agenda consists of a bergamot and vanilla opening. The vanilla is the heart of this fragrance, though the scent itself is somewhat linear. After awhile the vetyver and patchouli are introduced, but it remains ultimately a vanilla fragrance. While the bottle and box are extremely poorly designed, the fragrance itself is very nice, actually. I think if you like vanilla this is definitely a scent worth trying (not to mention the fact that it’s very inexpensive). I think EC also prides themselves on using only natural fragrance notes, and I think that’s true with Agenda. It’s a very natural vanilla scent, and it’s definitely an EdP - lasting at least half day. This would be a good fragrance for autumn and winter. It’s not overpowering, but people will notice it if you are wearing.

So...this was a blind buy for me. I didn't have much to go on seeing as there was only one review to take in. I was looking for a vanilla scent that wasn't too sweet or overpowering. I am a male so I wanted something on the woody side with maybe some tobacco, but it seems hard to find something like that. At first spray, I smelled an overpowering sweetness (keep in mind I am not a fragrance connoisseur)that seemed almost candy-like. Bergamot is definitely apparent in this fragrance, however, vanilla (for me) is not. Moreover, at the very end I can detect an almost plastic aroma. It is not the most horrible scent I've ever owned and there is SOMETHING about it that is still kind of attractive, but it is not a scent I will consider wearing again anytime soon if at all.
