This is so nice, a green amazonia smell. make me remember so much things. is a masculine smell. if any body find it 20 year after you have luck, because i have years i didn't see it any more.

This review is about the earlier version, before the reformulation. It's sad to hear that Eddie Bauer (or the fragrance company who makes it for them) decided to change such a pleasant smelling cologne. I have a bottle of this that is 80% full at this point and it's one of my first favorite colognes. I was curious to see how it has been priced as of late, and was dismayed to find it is now discontinued. Used examples still sell for rather hefty prices and new is commanding even more. I can only hope Eddie Bauer reads these kinds of reviews and eventually decides to return to the original formula, re-releasing it as "Classic Adventurer" perhaps. I'm not well versed in all of the fragrance lingo at this point, so I'll need to be simple for now and revisit this later. I agree it has a woody aromatic scent, with a lush green overtone. It goes on more like an EdP than an EdT, requiring a little restraint in application.. What I like about it, at least in my experience, is that the fragrance stays true to form as it dries down. No unexpected morphing of notes going on. It's a classic, reliable, bold woodsy green fragrance that is definitely masculine without being overtly macho. I haven't tested the new version, Adventurer II, but I'll make a point of doing so to have my own experience of the differences.

Before splashing some Adventurer on I can mainly smell a pine note surrounded by some other green notes and flowers. When I put it on, I initially get a small burst of citrus on a background of some green notes. The heart of the fragrance consists mainly of florals against the lasting pine. I can distinguish the marigold as I think it has an interesting scent. The base notes are basically a light tobacco and wood, kind of reminiscent of a man smoking his cigar in his cabin after he’s been out ‘adventuring.’ I’m not sure this is made anymore but I think some individuals are still selling it. I got mine from a seller on Amazon. It used to be really cheap but the price has jumped quite a bit since it’s out of production. All in all it’s not bad. I would say it’s more than worth the 10-20$ price that it used to have, but I’m not sure I’d buy it again. I’d give this an average rating on sillage and longevity.

The opening is horrid, borderline vomit inducing, I tried to wash it off, but thank god it didn't work, the dry down is much better, I described it as an adventure through a "mossy overgrown damp forest" but once you venture enough to the dry down, you find a colourful flower striking harshly against the dark green and brown forest surrounding you, once you touch it, hundreds more seem to bloom, rejuvenating the forest. but my god do you have to go far into this disgusting swamp like forest to see it.

Everyone: "One simply does not wear the whole coniferous forest simultaneously..." Adventurer:"Hold my fir, pine, juniper, cedar, cypress, redwood and spruce branches please!" All joking aside. The 25 years ago teenage version of me actually got compliments for smelling really fresh wearing this. Unlike when I wore Drakkar Noir which was unforgiving with a few sprays too many, this EB Adventurer really took a young teenager and made him feel cleaned up even with too many sprays.

I don't like green scents, and this is a bad green scent (imo), so I really don't think its wearable, quite strong, I feel like i've been put into a mossy overgrown damp forest. I've seen this online for different prices, I think its inflated because it's discontinued, if its 120 its definitely not worth it imo.

This was my first fragrance that I was really impressed by. It definitely started my fragrance journey! It didn’t smell like any of the $20 and under. Yes, it is now discontinued, and absolutely want to support the other reviewers idea of it being brought back as a classic scent! I (hint, hint) would immediately buy!! I ended up scrounging around for a few ml’s of the original EDT, also found several ml’s of a clone roll on fragrance oil. I mixed all of this together in a bottle of perfumers alcohol, and ended up making my own version of this that I call an EDP. It’s decent! I wish I knew how to get it to project more and longer. I’ve got a full 100ml’s and some extra left over if anyone wants a small amount!! If yes, please reach out! This is not something I’m looking to profit off of. I just expect to be reimbursed for my investment. I’m thinking that including shipping that 50ml’s would be $30. I can only do that about two times and all of my extra will be gone. Again, not trying to make money on this. I just want to share with those who also appreciate this wonderful fragrance. You will not find this offer anywhere else. Hi everyone - Eddie Bauer Adventurer is one of my all-time favorites. I wore it in college and loved the lingering scent. I am wretched with describing colognes so I won't try. I lament that it is out of production, and that the Ebay trolls are asking so much money for it. For memory sake, I just want a few sniffs of it. I've got a vintage bottle. It smells quite good, with obvious spicy and ambery qualities. The major accord is characterized by a kind of maple syrup effect, with a "boozy" element. This is the gentlest treatment of pine and tobacco I've ever encountered. There are no obvious aroma chemicals used. Longevity and projection ("sillage") are quite good as well. Note separation is not great but it does smell natural, though a bit strange (almost like fenugreek), with a tangy quality.

This is a great mens fragrance and I used to wear it lightly and I would get a lot of compliments because it was not too strong. I can't believe that they stopped making it. I refuse to pay 90 plus dollars for a leftover bottle. Does anyone know of a comparable fragrance like Adventurer? I have tried to find something close but no luck.

This is the greatest fragrance I've ever used! It's so disappointing that it was discontinued. I have a stock pile of bottles that I sadly have to use sparingly so that I do not run out. I have yet to find a replacement, though I keep looking. Adventurer 2 is nowhere near as good.

I was the king of 7th grade wearing this cologne. Too bad they discontinued. . .
