I agree with @polojoe below, a very good old school fragrance. This is a mid 70's scent and it's surprisingly refreshing. Longevity is excellent and projection isn't bad either. This is one that has slipped under the radar over time but time is on its side as it's still going onward 40+ years later. For the price(100ml for under a £10!) it's a great buy and a very enjoyable wear. You can wear this anytime for the day or night and it wouldn't be out of place. You'd feel good wearing it because it's not outdated compared with some of the modern stuff that's out. It holds its own and an 8 out of 10 is not over stating its quality👍! I would recommend this because you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. I would like to mention also Rapport has two other fragrances, Black & Sports which are really great buys to at the same price. The Sports smells almost exactly like Paco Rabanne 1 millions. I should say it's the other way around the latter smells likes the former because it was around 10 years or more before 1 millions. A 9 out of 10 for the Rapport Sports because it's that good👌👍😁!

A lovely spicy, inexpensive and potent scent. There are spices and smoky incense with a floral background. I think it's unique but the opening is in the same family as Antaeus. The dryown is nice and clean and is similar to (and just as nice) as the lovely Worth pour Homme. Rapport, for the price, is extremely well done and smells masculine and really pleasant, it doesn't smell like a cheap fragrance at all. "Rapport, when you know there's more". (That used to be the advertisement wording)

Top notes: Citrus, Sage, Coriander Heart notes: Geranium, Galabanam, Cardamom, Inscence, Patchouli Base notes: Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Musk This is a real blast from the past! So many bittersweet memories attached to this scent. Classic, smooth 80s fragrance. Moderate projection and longevity. An absolute steal!

A strong old school fragrance bought for £4.99 for 50ml. Bottle resembles drakkar noir but it's coloured deep red. You can tell it's from the same era as drakkar What can I say It is very nice. Masculine. Fresh in a non citrus way. Very good projection and longevity. Nice little gem with an old-school vibe

Just a note for Fragrantica; I would hope they would profile the other two fragrances from Rapport. Black and Sports because those who read up on them would find out about a couple of gems!

It's Kouros to me, but cheaper.. Lovely old school..

I find the initial opening like burnt rubber or melting plastic on my skin but it subsides quickly leaving a rich citronella smell that eventually sweetens to what I assume is tonka bean with possibly lavender and some other floral I can't put my name on but who knows? I'm guessing. The early stages are quite intense and manly ( citronella in men's toilets ) with a dry down that's quite an elderly women's perfume in the early 70's which I think I smelled as a child at some point in time, it's in there somewhere says my nose; haha! Sillage smells better, but this being my first bottle I have only gotten my daughters opinion, she though it ok then disliked later, she's sixteen so not for that age group I guess, my wife thought it was ok. I don't like it that much so far and have it on my left arm for five hours now but I did give it a like, WHY? because I know this one is a bully and I mistakenly let it have the first punch by spraying too much, but lesson learnt I will not do that again. Next time I'll spray once and see how it goes, if it don't go well, I'll dislike but there is enough I feel I like about it to give it a second chance. For now that's it, 6.5/10 After another visit to this one probably around two years or so later I get this... Smells of Mandate and Kouros to some degree. I get civet, ambergris, or castoreum more on the dry down when I hold my nose to the skin, reminding me of sweaty stale-ish armpit that had some cheap musky deodorant on at some point, even a sweaty crutch lol. I purchased a Pheromone spray a while ago to see what it smelled like, it smells like this when you get your nose deep into it, very skanky. All in all It's an acquired taste and I still can't help but like it. I like Kouros and Mandate and they have similar undertones and overtones. It's definitely a change from all the modern clean smells so for that I'll raise my score by a little. 7/10 Another 5 or so years later, around 7.5 years since I first reviewed this, so here it is... I admire the boldness of this one and how persistent it is, I have given many fragrances away over the years that I wasn't too keen on that I'd also have scored as a low 7, yet I still have the same bottle of this, that says something in itself. I still think it's worth a 7, but a strong 7 and I will continue to wear it from time to time, why not, eh'. I have to laugh at one of my earlier statements about the dry down which kinda smelled like an elderly women's perfume in the early 70's. Perhaps my granny got laced with it from my grandad when he hugged her before going to work in the morning, who knows, but it's strong enough to travel from person to person; for sure.

This cost a ridiculously small amount for about half an imperial gallon, delivered. I definitely understand the reference to it being a sort of more human Kouros, in that it's much more humane to the people around you. So there is something animalic here, but wolves and lions aren't going to try to mount you, and other humans aren't going to want to punch you. Or puke on your shoes. Or move away from you on the train. (You may love Kouros, but a crowd pleaser it is not...) As such, this is waaaaaay better than Kouros. It is also fresh and dynamic - soapy, a little. It's got an astringent quality that spices it up. However, it's not straightforwardly "green" - yet there's a touch of Azzuro PH here, a vibrantly green scent. . And what about the references to YSL pour homme? That was my first grown-up fragrance. I understand why people can detect an affinity - so clearly *something* citrusy is going on. But the animaly, herby thing pulls it somewhere else entirely. So, it's animalic, but gently so. It's green in a modest, dry way. And there's the spirit of a lemon haunting the back rooms. It is a busy scent. No wonder there's no scent pyramid - where would you start? There's so much going on. I really like it. I don't luuuurve it. But it's a "journey" scent... My views will change, I think. In the interests of being helpful, if you're into "dumb reaches," or "panty droppers" or freshies... No. This is not for you. You need to be on a sort of scent journey to appreciate this. If you are on such a journey, I think you'll get a kick out of this.

I saw this very cheaply and thought I'd give it a go. It far exceeded my low expectations. It is a pleasant, "old school", warm, slightly spicy, woody and slightly soapy fragrance. Quite clean smelling with ?some green notes and a pine-like note that sharpens it up a bit. Gets a bit of powderiness late on. It's fairly linear and a bit synthetic - I can't pick out much in the way of discrete notes. It doesn't smell like either of them, but if you crossed a less earthy Quorum with a less sweet and powdery Black Suede you'd get something close to this. Longevity is alright at 8+ hours. Projects pretty well for 5+ hours. Perfectly happy to wear this casually sometimes. Nothing incredible or original but it is pleasant, clean, masculine, 80s smelling and cheap. It is very good value for money overall. I might even buy it again. [Rapport Black - which is not in the database - is very different. RB is more melon-like, fruity/citrusy/summery and a bit heavy on aldehydes with only a tiny hint of woods. And it doesn't last as well.]

Picked up this little gem for the price of an airport pint! Straight up 80s barbershop, green, soapy with a few animalic notes and musk thrown in for good measure. If you enjoy 80s greens, soaps, musk and animals then you really cannot go wrong with this. Starts off with a blast with the animalics winning the race, they chill out after a few mins and the soap and greens come to the front, animalic scent is present throughout but its not the full moon kind as you find in Kouros and Furyo, but it works so well in Rapport. Dry greens but fresh aswell, and something else there maybe amalfi lemon, its enough to notice but not enough to change the dynamics so it doesn't go too sweet. Lasts a good 8-10 hours on average on my skin, sometimes I get 12, sillage moderate,skin scent after an hour or so. Only knew this existed from online sites, didn't hear about this growing up, very happy to have found this now, they say good things come to those who wait...

This is a really authoritative old school masculine fragrance. As others on here have mentioned, does not smell like a budget range scent at all. This is quite close to another Fragrance by the same company (Eden Classics) called "Mandate" which I also like, although this is perhaps a bit sharper. Both fragrances punch above their weight in my opinion, great value for money. I would say this is a winter/Autumn scent, might be a bit cloying in humid weather. Although they are not in the database here, there are three variations in this range, "Sport Blue" is your standard fresh summer/gym fragrance (some people think it is very close to One Million, ) and then "Black" which is a more modern smelling scent, it's more of a skin scent but smells great. A great discovery and the company deserves praise for high quality products at a lower price. Very Good Indeed!

This has been a 'value' product from launch, currently retailing here in the UK for around five pounds sterling. (eight US dollars). In spite of inflation, this is now less than launch price! In 1988 it was £10! Opens with a typical 1980s aftershave spicy blast. I would guess at coriander, bergamot, sage. Not much citrus, although there is a brief sparkle. Mid-notes are dominated by patchouli, sandalwood and musk. Quite dated, but in a classic way, not a bad way. As Rapport settles into my skin it becomes very pleasant indeed. Imagine you had on some Chanel Antaeus but found it overbearing so you decided to wash it off with Lux soap; you would then have Rapport. Something distinctive, smooth and refined. Not bad at all for the price!

Basically a mixture of Kouros and Versace L'homme - doesn't get as dark as either of those fragrances though so may be a lot more wearable to a lot of people. It's still old school barbershop at the end of the day but it you are younger and wanted to dabble in the old classics then this would be an ideal starting point. I find this perfect for freshening up after an evening shower and you know you will be smelling this for days on pillows and clothes. Think I got 100ml + Body Spray for £7 and it punches way above what you should expect for that sort of money.

This can be found quite cheaply - I saw a 50mL aftershave for $4.99 just recently in a chemist. To me this is an intriguing fragrance: it is both clean and dirty at the same time. There is a definite nod to the likes of Kouros and Salvador Dali Pour Homme (but nowhere near as intense or long-lasting). I find it hard to pick the notes out, but spices predominate and there is a soapiness behind it all.

It’s still selling, so that speaks for itself. I know it is cheap but i still think it sells on merit.

Cheap, cheerful and not very impressive. I bought many bottles of fragrance which I remembered as a younger man and this was one I'd be happy to forget. Not offensive but a forgetful scent. Poor longevity and sillage.

Bit of a story attached to this one for me. I have very vivid memories of my father receiving this as a Christmas gift in the 1980's (Dads always got "aftershave" for Christmas in the 80's, usually in some kind of "gift-set"). I remember also seeing the adverts for it on TV at the time. I also remember thinking it was not very pleasant when I tried it from the bathroom cabinet, but I can perhaps be forgiven having only been about 10 years old at the time. The release of Rapport probably came a little late, and this, I think, damaged the popularity it maybe should have gained. Rapport is a definite blast from the 1970's/ very early 1980's fougere types (Paco Rabanne/ Azzaro/ Kouros etc) but was released in 1988 and came late to the party, at this point we were heading toward the "Cool Water" revolution, everyone began wearing the new fresh fragrances, and as anyone who was alive during the 1980's can attest, if you did not follow the current trend you were a nobody. Unfortunately, men's power-fougeres quicky went out of fashion, and many of the greats became redundant except among grandfathers and older dads (Usually as Christmas presents). For this reason, I am amazed Rapport still even exists, as it never reached the heights of popularity that it's predecessors did, and most likely never had the "big brand" support that Paco Rabanne and Kouros etc would have to keep them alive, I imagined Rapport would just die a quiet and lonely death. Fade out of existence as it were. I had thought about it from time to time over the last 35 years or so, occasionally wondering what I would make of it nowadays, now I was older, and was overjoyed when I found it in a local store in the City where I live. Nowadays we have a vintage resurgence, you can wear what you like and no-one really cares, I think this is a good thing. We can once again confidently try out all these great fragrances, and fortunately Rapport survived! Rapport opens as a lighter version of Kouros with a very slight animalic tone, then dries down to the common garden variety of barbershop fougere. Nothing ground-breaking, nothing even particularly special, just a solid fragrance, that for it's price point is actually very well made, and smells good. Looking back, my father's Christmas present in the 80's was probably more expensive than I paid for it last week!

Hello always loved this classic fragrance i save it for my winter rotation. Wore it a few times honestly beautiful fragrance and the silage and longevity are outstanding can smell it on my shirt a week later. Also gets compliments this fragrance puts lots costing much much more to shame I'm so impressed I've ordered another bottle. Also nice are rapport black and rapport sport. Trust me buy it you can't go wrong. Ps this smells nothing like 1 million The rapport sport blue bottle is similar to 1 million.
