Me Myself & I

There feels like a touch of Mugler in here: white flowers a la Alien, and woods per Angel. A little bit amberish-chewy and gourmand, maybe slightly smoky. Notes are officially as Garden.Wren lists below, and I'm not detecting any herbs or greens like hemlock, basil or even apple! No clean woods either. Kind of syrupy patchoulish. Interestingly Aurelien Guichard created some of the Angel flankers. I was seeking more of a niche-like tuberose but this is not it. Artificially colored juice should have been a clue which is something I shy away from in niche fragrances. It's nicely executed for a scent that leans toward the designer sensibilities, but doesn't make it as a naturalesque type tuberose perfume.

This is one I have a really difficult time describing. First off, the notes listed here are almost ALL wrong. Hemlock flower, Exotic basil, Tuberose absolute, Lavender flowers, Java Vetyver roots, Gaiac wood... That being said, I received this beautiful juice in my monthly Olfactif box and upon review of notes, almost didn't even try it. Boy am I glad I set my bias aside and went ahead. Upon first spray it will almost take your breath away so apply with caution, but in a short time it mellows into something almost otherworldly. I definitely pick up the vetiver (which I usually don't enjoy) as well as lavender (which I usually utterly detest) as well as the basil and tuberose. Not sure about the hemlock as I'm unfamiliar with its scent. After a while the notes start to really blend and create this beautiful, somewhat dark and mysterious fragrance. While I would heartily recommend it, I advise sampling it first as it seems chemistry plays a rather significant role in the translation of this gorgeous juice.

Me Myself & I by Egofacto is scent marketed as a bewitching and disturbing floral with voluptuous tuberose, mysterious hemlock flower, and smoky and vetiver. At the time I first learned of it I thought, wow, OK YES PLEASE take my money. A few years later I still consider it an exceedingly sound investment. It smells overwhelmingly to me of an unlit package of cigarettes in an impossibly expensive leather handbag, and I love that smell. I should know better. My mother smoked all her life, and she died of cancer in 2013. Me, I'm a nerd and have never smoked the slightest bit of anything, but I've still got this romanticized notion of sitting in a Parisian cafe, drinking espresso, smoking French cigarettes, scribbling poetry, and looking very cool. You can't convince me otherwise. It's a fragrance that conjures a somber, moody atmosphere that hearkens back to its very name in that you'll want to be alone with it, and I promise you'll both be in exemplary company.

One may moan about the name: A product namend "Me Myself and I" by a label named "EGO Facto" - come on, this one is made for extreme egoists or what? But then, such a wonderful scent! All sweet, and so feminine, suits not-so-young but by no means old ladies with class. The woman who wears it may be selfish or not, it will suit every woman who understands beauty. ****

Very original white flower fragrance, very different from the usual jasmine-type scents, although a bit too raw, smoked and green for me (I can smell the vetiver right away which is not really blending with the initial fruity and jasmine notes).
