Agneta

After the overall simplistic Annicke collection, Agneta feels like a return to form of sorts for Eight & Bob - I loved the classic masculines, and this is well-composed and high-quality in the manner of the best from this brand. Agneta is a spicy-amber scent, dark, dry and woody. While it isn't especially unusual, it is a rich, high-quality unisex scent that is timeless, versatile and utterly elegant. Agneta opens with savoury cardamom, enhanced by nose-tickling black pepper. Warm nutmeg adds an aromatic edge, softening the peppery accord. The woody accord emerges early, dry and realistic, marrying nicely with the spices. The coffee note follows, and is put to good use here, even if it is pretty much hidden among the spices. Coffee is a difficult note to "get right" in perfumery, but here it adds to the overall scent without standing out (in either a good or bad way). It is complemented beautifully by the smooth, dry woodiness here. As it develops, the incense adds a smokiness that adds a smoky quality to the woody accord. The oud develops, but is woody and muted rather than animalic - in fact, the most prominent woody note of Agneta is smooth sandalwood. The musky-amber drydown is enhanced by the woody accord that prevails. It is reminiscent of Cartier Oud & Santal - a simple but high-quality scent that does what it says on the tin, featuring a non-animalic "Western" oud. It fades to a dry, slightly sweet musky skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. After showering, the ambrocenide lingers, a synthetic, single-note amber skin scent. A cold weather, unisex amber-woody scent laced with spices, Agneta is a gem. Expensive, but smells it. 4/5.

I'm mainly getting sugared woods and coffee, does smell a little bit like a Meller caramel or something among those lines. Closest comparison to this is Xerjoff's Bouquet Ideale without a doubt (nobody listing it before me is a tad surprising). It's by no means as sweet as something like Intoxicated by Kilian. That smokiness is there in the base, but doesn't pop at all in the air, similar to how a lot of scents do palo santo nowadays (e.g. Paragon). Just like Bouquet Ideale, the performance on this is outright horrendous. Put it on at 10 and it's basically gone by 2pm. Put more onto the same spot at 2, and the scent is still there, but sillage will be moderate literally the moment you spray this on. Objectively you will get 6-7 hours, and it will be barely noticeable that whole time since this is an intimate only scent - again, just like Bouquet Ideale. Doesn't smell as feminine as the Xerjoff. Scent profile is an 8.5, longevity gets a 6 and sillage gets a 4 (could be less). 50ml for €270... not a chance. When I first smelled this in the vial, I was also expecting it to rank among the ~top 6 or so among 2022's release. And in the end, I put it at #18. Scent is great, originality is fair, performance is bad, value is awful.

Been waiting to get my hands on this in hopes of finally finding the perfect autumnal coffee fragrance. Agneta does not disappoint. It's the first week of autumn, that full blown early sunsetting, cool breeze nostalgia from autumns past hasn't fully gripped you yet. But there is a chill on the air and there are little splotches of yellow adorning the trees lining your neighborhood. Night falls sooner these days and goddamn it there are already christmas decorations out in the stores. Agneta is an expensive day light lit office in the mountains. Well kept, fragrant leather seating, heavy wood shelves and desks strews with books and documents. Atop a table is a hot, foamy caramel macchiato. Dark coffee brewed with a warm green cardamon, cinnamon, and nutmeg blend. More sweet than spicy. This is so delicious and cozy. The opening is a bit boozy, a spiced dark liquor, but dries down quick. I just got back from the Tetons to this package at my door and I wish I would have had it with me during my travels. Really would have fit in perfectly with the wooded cabins, hot cups of coffee, and hills broken out in all manner of warm reds and yellows. Cannot wait to have this on me all autumn. Just a beautiful.

This is a beautiful scent. I would say unisex leaning slightly towards masculine however I absolutely love wearing it- I have worn it out once and several people stopped me and asked what perfume I was wearing. It lasts forever and it smells expensive....it’s sexy but not too overpowering with the most amazing dry down. I love it!! I purchased mine for £240/$268 for 50ml. I think it is worth the price and a really special scent. Definitely not a blind buy!

This is a beautiful scent profile... It has the tastes of Nishane Papifleko + Robert Graham Valour. It is very intoxicating and I want to keep smelling it, but you will have to put your nose to your skin because it does not project at all. It sits pretty close to your skin after a minor gentle projection. Scent is a 9/10... but the performance and push off the skin is very bad given it's price. Its worse than a Creed at this point. Disappointed but lovely!

Wow, this is so powerful and complex in the opening moments. There’s a noticeable oud accord, a beaut of a coffee note, and a familiar cardamom and nutmeg combo all lifted by spicy black pepper. It’s dense and woody before the magnolia enters and there on in, it turns into a sparkly, ambery, woody, pretty thing. Very wearable, quite universal gender-wise and it feels special. One of the best releases of the year. A stunning Cardamom Sandalwood combination with some slight smoky woods. The Sandalwood is very creamy, it feels like there’s Vanilla but that’s just the type of Sandalwood here. A creamier and more ambery version of Gris Charnel Extrait. I would say it’s unisex but leans more masculine in my opinion. The performance is off the charts. God like longevity. A big love.

Stunning fragrance. Strong, great projection but mostly, a delightful scent. Warm dry down thanks to the amber and musk. It's definitely more masculine but I can imagine a woman wearing it. Managed to get it via black Friday discount, still just over £200. Even at 50ml I can see it lasting a while. Not many sprays needed at all.

I cannot possibly explain to you how utterly gorgeous this perfume is. The beautiful cardamom, coffee stays throughout. This does not have any sharp edges to it. So smoothe. The quality is A++++ You only need 3 sprays and it lasts for a full 24 hours. BRILLIANT. 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is my favorite coffee scent at the moment. Its sweetness is tempered by the other notes, making it smell sophisticated. It has excellent longevity and good projection - the perfect fragrance to wear on a cold night out.

The creamiest, room filling cardamom. It’s warm and comforting and totally giving chai latte on a cold winter afternoon. It’s gorgeous and could have easily justified padding out the whole composition. But, that would have been somewhat lazy, and Agneta is definitely not a lazy perfume. I know others talk about a distinct coffee note taking over, and sure I get it. But to me the combination of bitter coffee, sweet amber, spice and creamy sandalwood reads as something else entirely - a boozy almond, almost amaretto-like vibe. It’s an olfactory illusion, but one I’m more than happy to let my mind run away with. I don’t typically enjoy gourmands, and this is probably about as far as I am comfortable for something to lean into that genre. It’s sweet, liqueur like - but also dry, airy almond paste dusted with sugar. I guess if I was to try and reduce that description to one of fewer words, powdery marzipan might be where I’d arrive. What stops it drifting into full dessert territory though is a clean, slightly sharp freshness that feels grounded in classic barbershop DNA. The spices aren’t just warm, they’re structured and used in that old-school gents cologne style. That’s what keeps it feeling distinctly masculine, and reinforces the point that this is not a lazy composition, having taken you from spiced chai to powdery marzipan, all while quietly building a genuinely clever “fougère” like structure underneath, striking the perfect tension between comfort and interest.

At first this really wowed me, creamy sandalwood with a sweetened coffee note. Light touches of Cardamom and smoke. Progesssively this became sweeter and sweeter, until it turned into a generic warm spicy scent on my skin, reminding me of Starlight and Remember Me. In the dry down, I got lots of leathery notes with a warm spice. Extremely expensive for the amount and had no projection at all

This perfume started out sooo beautifully! Warm sandalwood and cardamom followed by a creamy coffee without being too much. It blended in so nicely on my skin. The dry down however was waaay too animalic and leathery for me and sadly really nauseating...

Suede, warm cardamom, creamy sandalwood, hints of black pepper, clove, incense and 'raspy' textured cinnamon. Develops notes of ginger, rose, ylang & dark chocolate. A truly comforting, very well balanced fragrance. Perfectly suitable for the winter weather. I see this as an elegant date-night scent but can be worn equally well casually. If you enjoyed something in the style of E&B's own Egypt or Xerjoff Starlight then you will probably like this. A lot. Gorgeous perfume!

This is such a wonderful scent, nutty, smoky, mysterious, sweet but not overly sweet, leaning masculine and sexy. It is a dark but also gentle and almost gourmand creation. It is very expensive, but it's the only scent that excites me so much lately. Very serious scent and you can smell the high quality of its ingredients. It's the perfect bonfire scent and layers lovely with simpler vanillas. Woody but elegant, not a frequently found combination.

A really pretty, easy to wear, mass-appealing cardamom coffee scent. Good projection for an hour or so, lingers as a skin scent for a pretty decent amount of time afterwards. "Prized oud wood is the star of this creation" in the press copy, however, should basically be considered false advertisement.

Leathery woody with a touch of mature oud. This can last for over a week on certain fabrics, it’s delicious. Sillage is decent and on my skin last a good 6/8 hours. Expensive though
