Annicke 1

A pretty, fresh, and modern take on lily of the valley. The sharpness of that note is softened by the jasmine and peony, while ivy adds an unusual greenish twist. The composition as a whole is very smooth and rounded without any sharp edges. It rests on a base of musk, which is not overdone, thankfully. If you enjoy High Line by Bond, which is another modern, green fresh floral, this one is worth sampling. The sillage and longevity are above average for a freshie fragrance. There are six fragrances in the Annicke line by Eight & Bob, and this is the “freshest” of the lot. This line doesn’t get much attention in the frag comm, but I think deserves a closer look.

My frequent easy reach when I want something sweet and fresh, and nothing else quite fits the bill. Very floral and springlike but the very slightly sharp ivy green note brings something new to the party vs other citrusy florals. Neither the granny-end of LOTV nor the super ‘pink’ / girly end of peony fragrances. Gets a lot of compliments (largely from other women). It’s not groundbreaking but works hard on days when you just want to smell feminine, put together, sweet but not too sweet, and clean. I’d miss it if discontinued. Pure Vienne from the same brand is v.similar, feminine and light without being juvenile.

A captivating and refined fragrance that embodies romantic, innocent femininity. The bouquet opens with delicate flowers, as if gathered in a garden at dawn, bathed in morning dew, crisp air, and the first rays of sunlight. It is floral, slightly green, and subtly sweet, with an almost powdery delicacy. As it develops, the lily of the valley becomes more prominent, natural and pleasant. Longevity on fabric lasts all day, with sillage initially moderate, gradually settling into an intimate presence that unexpectedly reminds you of itself. A beautiful, beautiful composition.

What a lovely scent! I imagine this paired perfectly to a delicious picnic date on a spring afternoon. It’s juicy with just the perfect blend of floral, A whisper of fruit without being tart paired with a serious fresh factor from the lily of the valley. It echoes a similar vibe to Dior’s J’adore so if you’re a fan you may just like this. Not the same but gives you the same feeling of opulence that J’adore provides. I love that from first spritz there’s just a soft zesty scent, nothing harsh just a scrumptious zesty freshness that envelopes you with a big hug.

Annicke #1 by Eight & Bob is most reminiscent to my beloved past friend "Cacharel Eau d'Eden" (on my skin anyway). I have used Floris Fleur as my replacement for Eau d'Eden for many years but recently discovered this one. It is a fresh floral aquatic that doesn't have that opening note in Fleur so dissimilar to Eau d'Eden. You can definitely smell the lily of the valley and the jasmine and they stay throughout. The notes don't seem to change from beginning to end, they just get softer.

Unique. The peony is very prominent, which I like. If you like the smell of that flower, you will definitely like this. I don’t smell anything else than peony by the way. I sometimes layer it down with something woody or musky, it gives it a wow-effect.

It's a sweet floral to my nose. I think it's mass appealing. We have soft florals.

Having reviewed the six classic Eight & Bob scents that are masculine/unisex, I have moved on to the feminine collection - my Annicke coffret. Named for a woman loved by Albert Fouquet, the perfume enthusiast originally behind the Eight & Bob brand, the story here is that he created perfumes for her each time he paid her a visit - a sort of olfactory love letter. I was very impressed with the consistently excellent classic collection, but Annicke 1, my first foray into the feminine 8&B scents, has left me cold. An aquatic floral, it isn't a scent profile I typically favour. A1 opens with thin, aquatic peony, slightly sweet and fruity, but a little on the synthetic side. There is a hint of dewy greenness in the background. More florals creep in, remaining thin and aquatic. A synthetic cyclamen note is most evident, light and fresh, but some clean jasmine follows, adding some sweetness. I get a hint of green lily-of-the-valley, soapy without being aldehydic, but not creamy enough to properly resemble fancy soap. It becomes slightly musky as it dries down, with a hint of woodiness complementing it. It remains clean and watery until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a feminine, warm weather scent. Overpriced for what it is, A1 is ultimately disappointing. Inoffensive but totally underwhelming, it is quite unoriginal and is not my thing at all, but is clean, fresh and feminine. Nothing special. 2/5.

Fresh floral scent with a vintage nuance. As others said, nice and inoffensive but nothing special. Definitely overpriced. Surprisingly enough, once it dries down, to my nose it gets very similar to Yardley's Bluebell & Sweet Pea. Not quite the same but similar enough to consider Yardley an interesting, much cheaper, alternative. I also have Immense Peony by Angel Schlesser - less bitter, more airy, generally speaking different juice but kind of similar scent profile, without the green accords or any retro vibe. I see it as an option to check if you're into fresh peonies, especially for its price when compared to Eight&Bob. I see some complaining about Annicke collection being generic and mundane in general. I agree but I guess it really depends on one's perspective. I see numbers 1-4 as colognes taken on a new level - versatile, feminine, not juvenile, classy, mostly for daily use. If you're looking for something like that, with good parameters, and see these fragrances on sale somewhere, they are totally worth having. They may be simplistic/generic, but at the same time you really can't go wrong with their elegant, classic vibe.

Nice floral, reminds me of Pleasures from Lauder but not as complex and more woody once set. Nice but not a full bottle for me I am afraid.

This is such a fresh burst of beautiful flowers . I smell the peonies but the other florals are in the background. There is an underlying spicy scent I attributed to ivy . Just like oakmoss , it doesn’t sit well for me in fragrances . I can see it working well here cause without it , it would be quite generic . Pretty but not for me .

Reminds me of so many things from the 90s. It starts with a spicy/floral mix with lots of fresh green notes. I think there are also a bit of aquatic undertones or maybe it’s just a wet type of wood in the base. Feminine and refreshing but kinda dated. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Annicke 1 is a bright fresh, dew covered musky floral. Very feminine clean-girl peony scent. A slightly generic fruity floral but pleasant in a very feminine and spring like way. Fresh but poor longevity

Prefer ANNICKE no. 2 as it is far more bouquet..ish in my opinion whereas no. 1 is soft and powdery.

I purchased a travel size spray to test this out. Based on the reviews I thought that I'd like it. It immediately went full on powdery on my skin. I couldn't get past that to allow time for the scent to meld and morph to what I'd seen described. I scrubbed it off. It's just not for me. :>(

It's like a punch of peony in your face. I got overwhelmed and I can't smell another notes. The performance and sillage is great actually but not my thing.

I compared the Eight & Bob fragrances Annicke 1 and Pure Vienne directly, as they share some similarities. Both are lightly-powdery airy white floral scents - natural, elegant, feminine and classy. I would say Pure Vienne is more old fashioned lady-like, with an almost peachy lightly-sweet roundness. Annicke 1 has more spice and green, is perhaps a bit more unique and modern. Annicke 1 lasts slightly longer, although both are moderate in that regard.

I wish I got a punch of peony in my face! I'm on my way to find THE peony scent and so far I'm not successful. But don't get me wrong, Annicke 1 is a great, grassy-green freshie with soft floral and musky undertones which I fell absolutely in love with. I just wish it was more peony-centric. Full bottle worthy, but not for the official retail price. I scored 2 bottles at discounters for ridiculous price, so I'm set for life with this one.

Fresh Peony and Lily of the valley with strong grassy green feel on a soft musky base. Slightly ozonic, or is this the drift wood note..? Clean, almost innocent, walk in the park type of scent. Not a love for me, but I can see it a good fit for someone who likes perfume-y version of a nature inspired scent, light, friendly, almost natural, unobtrusive .
