Got a decant of this. This one is very nice. Light refreshing and long lasting. Definitely a summer fragrance. Reminds me a little bit of that tom ford fragrance neroli. My first eight&bob fragrance. Very impressive.love the opening with a blast of bergamote with a hint of jasmine. Makes me happy when I wear this fragrance.longevity got me 7 to 8 hours.

for me this is a nice, uplifting scent. it’s unisex and i mainly get the jasmine, bergamot and mate. citrusy and tea-ish profile. also as a citrus hater i actually really enjoy this since the citruses don’t give off that kitchen cleaner vibes like they usually do for me.

This is gorgeous, citrusy and refreshing....slightly effervescent. I don’t know what others are smelling. This is compliment getting and a fresh floral with fresh orange throughout and Mate in the dry down. This will be a spring and summer go to next year.

Simple clean with just enough nuance to make it interesting. Spring in a bottle. Feels like walking in a sea breeze without the saltiness. It's an easy reach. The pear, non indolic jasmine, and musk are done nicely

Very nice😍 perfect summer scent.

Effervescent citrus bomb opening that is super refreshing on a warm summers day. Not listed in the notes but on my skin I get way more grapefruit than bergamot or orange, and no pear. Remains fairly linear throughout the dry down with an exception that if you spray it on more liberally the musk note becomes more apparent. The jasmine and rose deep in the background keep it interesting. Like most quality non-synthetic & natural citrus forward freshies longevity is rather lacking, but let there be no misunderstanding it is obvious that Champs De Provence is crafted with exquisite ingredients indeed. With the maté muting the florals, to me this leans a tad masculine. I read with absolute fascination the reviews from some below that this turns into a pissy & barnyard scent on their skin. I can see it heading in that direction if you overspray it or perhaps have a sensitivity to maté. If I don’t over do it I get a mostly clean, fresh, quality citrus fragrance beginning to end. I stumbled across the Eight & Bob brand in a boutique in Daylesford Victoria 🇦🇺 while enjoying a mini break with my wife in spa country. The original Perfumers (Albert Fouquet) link to JFK and Bobby Kennedy is a charming story and adds to the pedigree of this niche house, but the story that accompanies each fragrance printed on inside of the box lid that details what inspired its creation is equally as charming. For Champs De Provence it is as follows: “On this occasion Fouquet wanted to satisfy the request of his dear friends Alessandro and Chiara, an Italian couple who owned a villa in Provence where they went to relax and enjoy themselves, breathing in the freshness of the more than 1600 wild plants that flowered every year in the countryside of this beautiful region of France. Every spring, Albert Fouquet went from Antibes on the French Riviera to the home of Alessandro and Chiara to share with them the splendid spectacle of colours and the wonderful aromas. During one of his trips, while decanting one of the wines he produced from his own grapes, Alessandro told Fouquet that his next diplomatic post would be in the far-away Philippines. He enjoyed carrying out his work travelling around the world, but during his long stays abroad he always remembered with melancholy the beauty of Provence. Some months later, when Alessandro and Chiara were already settled in the Philippines, they were surprised by the best present they could receive from their good friend. Only an artist such as Albert Fouquet was capable of transforming into a perfume the freshness of the exuberant aromas brought forth by the plants growing in the Provence countryside. Who knows, but it adds to the mystique of this marca which I note is now made in Spain.

Champs de Provence is a high-quality, unisex summer freshie from Eight & Bob, in a similar vein to Memoires de Mustique. The origin story of the flagship scent of this brand, the eponymous Eight & Bob, is a romantic tale about how the perfumer, Albert Fouquet, befriended JFK, who, in turn, used his famed charm to coax him out of eight samples of his secret composition, which until then was strictly for Fouquet's personal use, as well as one for his brother ("and one for Bob"). Whether or not this has been exaggerated for effect matters little - a scent with a story is always compelling, particularly when the scent in question is as good as 8&B is. There is a story to this scent too - Fouquet was friendly with an Italian couple who lived in Provence, and holidayed there with them many times. When they moved away, he surprised and charmed them by sending a scent he created based on his time in Provence, evocative of the sights, colours and smells of that beautiful area. CdP is a pleasant summer scent that is somewhat evocative of Provence, high-quality and pleasant throughout, but nothing unusual. I prefer Memoire de Mustique personally - CdP is less green, slightly sweeter and more synthetic, and I adore neroli. However, this is still really good - it just comes down to personal preference. CdP opens with a bright citrus accord, fresh, juicy and realistic. The bergamot is initially most prominent, with slightly sweet orange following. The orange blossom note is a seamless progression from the citrus opening - creamy, sweet and smooth. There isn't much greenness here - and the pear emerges after a little while, adding aquatic, juicy sweetness. I get a hint of dewy rose as it develops, transparent and rosewater-like. Some slightly powdery clean jasmine rounds it out, but it is quite sheer and slightly sweet here. The orange blossom persists - the dominant note of this scent. The drydown is musky with a slightly discordant quality that might be due to the maté note. The muskiness is thinner here than in MdM, fading to a musky ambroxan skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A unisex hot weather scent, CdP is nicely-composed, pleasant and good-quality but ultimately, is my least favourite of my Eight & Bob coffret. This is a testament to the consistent high quality of this brand. Expensive for what it is, but decent in its own right. 3.5/5.

Eight & Bob Champs de Provence is a light, fruity, floral, musky mix that immediately seems to be a similar category to Memoires de Mustique but distinguishes itself more so for its varied fruitiness and champagne-like brightness and effervescence. In that respect, it's fresh, fairly agreeable, and apt for warm weather wearing. It's rather linear to me, unlike some of the house's other offerings. A fun opening of bergamot, pear, and orange gives way to a dry down of jasmine, musk, and ambroxan ever so slightly but it's pretty consistent throughout. I still get much of the top notes after several hours of wearing, albeit close to the skin. I don't get much rose and am not familiar with maté tea. While being a little more interesting than Memoires, Champs is a little too safe, too under-performing to warrant the standard Eight & Bob price tag of $175 for 100ml. It's also fair to note that it's less replaceable than Memoires, as well. I'd love it at a lower price point but might only consider a travel size at this rate. 7 out of 10

Champs De Provence opens with a burst of bright and airy zest, which is quickly overrun by powerful neroli. This aromatic neroli, not too sweet, leads the white flower accord. An idolic jasmine begins to dominate, and forms the heart of Provence. This is a powerful and unsanitised jasmine, which I believe has caused other users here to comment on a faecal / rotten note, which I do not perceive. The presentation of white florals is natural and elegant. Unfortunately, as the floral notes fade, the projection of this scent disappears - a muted dry-down after the 2nd hour. Overall, Champs De Provence is a classy, slightly masculine scent of indolic white flowers. It is fresh, summery, and best used as a cologne spritzer given its relative linearity and poor longevity. Perhaps slightly overpriced for what it is. People seeking masculine white florals may like to sample this scent.

Classic summer cologne... CdP opens with an effervescent blast of zesty bergamot, that is followed by a fresh and lovely orange - don't get much pear though. The white flowery heart is dominated by the jasmine and closes with a soft musk with a touch of tea and mate. CdP is indeed a classic cologne reminiscent of Neroli Portofino and 4711 - the lovely natural orange in fact make me think of Eau d'Orange verte as well. Fresh, light, totally unisex and definitely suited for warmer weather, this concoction may not be the most innovative scent you've tried in years, but what it does it does well. I'm not sure why E&B have chosen to make this in EdP concentration, as performance in terms of both projection and longevity is moderate as best, as with most EdCs. Fairly linear, but hard for me to dislike.

The listed notes is exactly what you get so I won't go into that much. What I will say is, after wearing this for a few days now, this thing is so soft ( and nice by the way ) that after 2 or so hours, it fades away, or seems to. I wore Mustique before this from E&B also and that thing was beast... this... not so much. It dries down to a green/hay type of smell, it's pleasant, not overbearing with any particular note. So, summertime wear is fine, I'd suggest try before buying because to spend the amount for this to only have it be a subtly nice fragrance that pretty much disappears after 2 or so hours, might get some mad for paying so much for it.

Wow! Received an Eight & Bob discovery pack. All awesome - don’t know how I missed them before though they do smell generally safe. This one though struck me as remarkably similar to Hermes Concentre d’Orange except the orange is toned down and the jasmin is more forward. Almost a dead ringer except as an EDP it’s performance so far is ironically at the same level as CdO which is an EDC concentrate. I reckon Eight and Bob is the right product to buy as a ‘safe’ gift for friends as they can’t do any wrong yet they reek of quality.

A tart orangey cologne backed by big white florals. Fresh and vibrant, with a watery consistency from the pear and juicy citruses. The jasmine is very strong and full-bodied, and while the base notes rather hide they add a soft green mossy undertone. Soft projection for <2hr, longevity 4-5hr. I don't seem to have the bad reaction to the maté note many others get. Pleasant but not groundbreaking cologne-style scent.

I liked this scent, just... not on me. It's great for my wife. I don't see this really being worn by a man? The grapefruit really stood out for me on first spray. I really like it, it was fresh. While not being in the notes, I got Lily of the Valley in the notes. I suspect it's the Jasmine mixing in with the other notes. It is sweet and fresh flowery goodness in a bottle.

I like this fragrance but it doesn’t wow me. It’s very citrusy in the opening but on the dry down I get white florals mixed with a sweet candy like citrus. Reminds me of Maison Margiela Under The Lemon Trees.

It smells like a sort of EDC from the past but not vintage. It smells nice, possibly French, but I couldn't find anything distinctive to tell more about it. It is generic to me -- maybe this means classics?

Upfliting classic Mediterranean cologne vibes. The pear in the opening and yerba mate in the base are interestingly different.

This is a fruity version of Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford. Definitely, gives a perfect feel of a European seaside town.

A regular, somewhat “niche” green — fairly sweet with a slight edgy, shrubby touch. Nice, but lacking strong character. Maybe somewhat tea-like, yerba mate-ish.

While the notes sound pleasant and fresh, I found the fragrance to have an unpleasant bitter / herbal quality that overpowers the other ingredients. I assume this is the mate - and I am not sure why this note was included for a fragrance called Champs de Provence, when something like lavender could have made more sense and smelled more appealing! Fortunately the scent fades to nothing within a couple of hours...

I’m wearing this for the first time, number 2 in a discovery pack. The opening is nice, a typical neroli with citrus, but then something changed, and everything went south. Champs de Provence smells like the dump, a decaying and putrid scent. It turned my stomach so I washed it off with less than 30 minutes in. My chemistry and this one can only be described as vile.

The opening is a yummy lemon lime with a background of herbs. It turns into jasmine and herbs with a bit of lemon-lime in the background. But then, it turns unpleasant. It does this every time on paper or on skin. I don't recognize the note, but I react viscerally to it and it gets stronger as time goes on.

I have to agree with other reviewers, on my skin this is hands down the worst scent I have ever smelled. I could not rinse it off fast enough. The opening is bright and citrusy and actually quite nice. Shortly thereafter the scent comes closer to the skin and I get a grass/hay scent mixed with what I can only describe as urine/barnyard. Similar to the hay mixed with pigs on a farm. It’s bizarre, the citrus is fresh but on my skin it smelled as if an animal urinated itself for base notes. Was intrigued by the JFK mystery, but running far away now. Just awful.

My experience does not match others. Wore it 3 times from factory decants trying to like it but it was atrocious. Indolic and unrelenting. I've tried hundreds of neroli scents and never had such a terrible experience. Performance was very strong. Maybe it's a skin chemistry thing or I received a bad batch? It's a curious mess. One half is your ordinary sweet'n'soapy neroli, the one that usually gets the Portofino label., the one you immediately recognize. Second half adds some tart watery pear note along with an aldehydic hair spray muskiness, something green and another something that made me think of Secretions Magnifiques for a while. "Good for summer", as the word goes, especially when there's nothing else to say. But you know what is even better for summer? A cheapie that doesn't need all the storytelling effort. All nerolis are good for summer, but for the price I'd be better off with a bunch of various bottles actually found in Provence like Fragonard, Roger & Gallet, L'Occitane even. Make your own summer story. Buy some Mugler colognes. Or some Agua Fresca de Azahar, whose literal name will set your imagination free. To smell good and feel happy, you don't really need a Hemmingway novel about a couple owning a villa in the Provence and their good friend the perfumer travelling from the Antibes to the French Riviera, finally surprising them with "the best present they could receive" while in the Philippines. If someone can get away with a copy like this for a fragrance like that, they can easily sell you just any BS.

This is one of the few perfumes I've bought blind and totally wished I had not done so. It is horrible. Smells initially like a grassy, very masculine neroli. This eventually fades to a slightly acceptable unsweet leafy orange peel. Not good, far too masculine and grassy for most women, I'd imagine. I would give it to Oxfam immediately if I hadn't spent so much on it - will have to try it again, but really hate scrubbing. The packaging, however, is lovely - I got the 20ml size, which comes in a stripy green and white box.

Guys, if you're getting resentful that this may be another linear orange freshie, wear CDP to a workout or for a run. On me, the pear and the rose took over after I started to sweat, giving this juice the promised dimensionality the notes listed on here indicate. The dry down is just a whisper of musk, however I'm thankful I don't experience the feral undertones others seem to get from this. Overall: 6 out of 10. Nice, but nothing notorious or especially noteworthy.

This has a very pleasant citrus opening, heavy on the bergamot, bright and winsome, with an effervescence that extends into the heart with orange blossom. The florals are quite lovely further in, and it is all rendered more musky in the dry down. Well done, but I do have more than my share of floral citrus lovelies that satisfy me in my life. Great stuff though, and I imagine this would be a delight to wear on humid summer days.

It is old already in the beginning, bergamot and apple wrestling eachother. Then white flowers and rose in a candyland bath-tub-peal-of-shell, kind of way. On my skin a slightly burnt pear doesnt let go. At last, it is old again, it is supposed to be green, but it is brown. Try Floris leather oud instead, and compare, and accept the full-bottle-thought drown in a puddle of secret ingrediences.

The opening got me buy a sample of it, very sophisticated and modern freshness. But holy moly, what the f is happening after a dry down like excuse me???)) I came to fragnatica specifically to read the comments and see if I am the only one who is getting this strongly uncomfortable “Liver stew and fecal” vibes? Did I got a fake one xd?

There definitely seems to be a bad body chemistry reaction for some of us on this one. Just tried the sample from the discovery kit today, and both my wife and I agreed it had a strong "dung" smell. I had to wash it off. Mate is new to me. I'm wondering if it's that scent that I'm not reacting well to.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I'm a huge neroli fan, and this fragrance is simply bad. It smells very nice and similar to Neroli Portofino - for about 3 minutes. Then it smells like some strange rotting orange peel. Didn't like it at all. 3/5

I blind bought this earlier today. Not liking it much. It is the full size bottle. Happy to give away for half the price of full size bottle. I literally sprayed one spritz on my hand. It's not for me. DM me should you want it. Based in London.

I am totally getting Jovan Musk for men in the dry down, which means I actually love it because I am totally in to old school colognes. I wouldn't pay the price point for this one though with the former being so cheap to get.

Champs de Provence is an old school citrus fragrance. if you're into the whole JFK story, you may find this to be the easiest to wear from the Eight and Bob line.

Soapy and clean light floral summer fragrance. Last a good while but expensive. If you want something similar get Bvlgari Wood Neroli for 1/3 of the price.

For my girl I guess. This is feminine summer fragrance. Jamievercautere described it good. Again its girly summer spring scent.

Beneath all the tea and lime notes... am I the only one getting an ass-wipe smell on this ?

It just smells like a fresh bitter citrus and floral. Quite simple. Very plant-y.

why am i having megamare vibes in the dry down??
