Ambre D'Orient Secret V

Anyone who enjoys amber and cinnamon will likely appreciate this combination. It is one of the most refined pairings of those two notes I have encountered. The cinnamon here is not showy or sharp. It feels as if it is wrapped in resins, creating a gentle warmth from the very beginning. The opening carries a clear spicy heat, with cinnamon and pink pepper giving a warm, comforting impression. Rose and jasmine are present but not prominent. The composition feels pre-blended rather than unfolding step by step. In the heart, the focus shifts to woods and resins. Patchouli and cypriol introduce dryness and depth while maintaining a smooth texture. There is still no sudden transition or standout note. The experience remains consistent with the opening—less about progression and more about a steady atmosphere that gradually settles closer to the skin. The drydown is the true center of the fragrance. Amber, benzoin, and frankincense create a warm, slightly resinous texture. Vanilla and tonka bean round out the composition, adding softness while keeping the sweetness restrained. What remains is a quiet, supple amber with a gentle warmth. The strength of this fragrance lies not in complexity but in stability and density. The scent feels complete from the start and simply becomes softer and more intimate over time. Its presence is continuous without projecting too far, more like a layer of warm air surrounding the body. The overall character leans toward a mature, elegant femininity. It feels especially suitable for autumn and winter.

This fragrance is in the same family as Shalimar and other well-known orientals. On my skin, the vanilla in it is much more prominent than it has been voted here, almost as strong as the amber and cinnamon, bearing a faint hint of Shalimar's dry down. That's one of the reasons why I love this perfume, although there are major differences between Ambre and Shalimar. For once, Ambre opens up spicy-balsamic; also, it has no animal notes and the rose sets it clearly apart from Shalimar's powdery iris. The rose I detect in Ambre is slightly boozy, but pleasantly so. This is a well-done oriental, with good staying power and moderate sillage. However, considering that the scent isn't exactly unique, its price shouldn't be as high as it is. I bought it on discount last winter, after testing it several times in local perfume stores.

What a beautiful perfume this is once again. Warm and effortlessly classy. For those days when you don't need the most eccentric there is out there but simple oldschool good perfumery. I'm in love with a lot of Eisenberg's "Secet" perfumes and this is a very lovely rich oriental amber. I couldn't resist buying a bottle.

I got a free sample from Douglas. This is a cold boozy fragrance at first, I can smell the vetiver, cinammon and the cypriol oil, not really the flowers. I think the amber and benzoin gives it that boozy smell.For me seems more like a men`s fragrance . 3 hours later and remains a warm smell of tonka bean and cinammon, very subtle
