Cuir D'Orient Secret VI

The opening combines incense, pepper, and saffron, with a faint trace of fruit in the background—raspberry and blackcurrant. It brings to mind the smell of brand-new leather carrying a mix of sunlight and dust. As it develops, incense and amber begin to emerge and blend naturally with the leather. The composition feels smooth without becoming heavy. There is no harsh medicinal edge, and it isn’t the sweet, commercial type of leather fragrance. Instead, it has the warmth of leather that has been aired by sunlight and time. The progression remains very balanced. From start to finish it maintains a steady rhythm. The leather stays clearly present but never overwhelming. The incense in the middle stage adds depth, while the warmth of amber quietly fills the spaces, almost like light gradually spreading across the surface of leather. It carries the depth often associated with oriental compositions while still retaining a sense of air and clarity. The overall impression feels clean yet warm. In the drydown the scent softens further. Leather and wood gradually merge, leaving a gentle warmth with a faint resinous trace. The atmosphere feels similar to the lingering heat after a Tuscan sunset—air touched with golden dust and the warmth of leather, everything settling into quiet balance.

So I had a small sample of this from Notino. It opens beautifully goes sweet leather not unlike tuscan leather opening then smoke comes through also. Warm intoxication fahrenheitesque somewhat. liking. More leather less suede more smoke less flower than farenheit. 20 mins and more smokey, less leather. a little leaning toward the cocaine note of Tuscan leather but not too much. After a couple of hours the cocaine note, which was very slight, has gone and a beautiful warm leather scent remains. For over 16 hours then I had to shower. I like it, the cocaine smell of Tuscan Leather is not pleasant really so I am looking for something without that and this fits the bill as I like the Tuscan Leather opening. So I buy a full bottle from The Rake discounted 30%. Spray it on. It opens lovelly warm leather with a hint of smoke. No cocaine note at all. The scent is gone after 6 hours. Nice but what happened to the longevity and strength?? Maybe I got a fake but it all looks good. Smells the same but not the strength and I put quite a lot on to see. I suspect the samples are made stronger. Either way I would recommend a test of this to people that like the warm leathers. Its very nice and I doesn't get enough recognition I think.

This was a blind buy and a good one. This is not cheap but it is very good.Reminds me of Amouage Interlude.Very nice Autumn scent. After wearing this on and of for a few weeks now, it has been a real surprise and is now my most complemented scent. I'm thinking I will have to get a backup bottle.

I got a sample of it from Notino, but their samples are pretty ass, or I'm too dumb to use them. It didn't really apply properly and they sent you the sample so you could try that, and then return the full bottle if you didn't like it - I had to open the bottle anyways. Luckily, it wasn't bad. When I first smelled it, the incense mixed with the saffron and raspberry and ended up smelling slightly banana-ish, which combined with the leather was surprisingly positive. After a few minutes the smell does settle and the incense goes really well with the leather to create a backdrop for the saffron and raspberry. If you like leather scents, this is going to remind you somewhat of Tuscan leather, but a bit more oriental (unsurprisingly), but not in a way that distracts or makes it feel like a fully oriental scent. It has much of the same groundwork as Tuscan Leather, but with some orientalism sprinkled on top. - Does what it says on the packaging Good option if you love leather, everyone else should get a sample (but not a sample from Notino)

Mainly.. Dislike but I do like the dry down when the ashes lose power. First impressions. Do you like a leathery scent that smells most of the time ashes with good performance? Then it's for you this Cuir D'Orient. Main players here are leather, ashes, mild blackcurrant, tiny traces at the dry down of rasberries, strong black pepper, cigarette ashes with frankincense and saffron with mild violet. The rest notes are very subtle. I get no praline or jasmine. It's better suited for fall and winter, both day and night. It's a very distinctive smell, you won't walk through people unnoticed.. that's for sure. I'll try it again.
