Friday Edition

Really, who came up with the name for this brand?? In my country, “El Ganso” (The Goose) is almost always used as part of a double entendre or pun, and would never, ever, be used for anything else, we know better... That semi-cultural fact aside, let’s get into the fragrance... which is a very lovely one! It can be described as a sweet and spicy gourmand scent with a musky and slightly fresh/citrus aura. Cardamom and Anise are the first notes you’ll get, and a lot of them... beneath them you’ll smell some Tonka and a very faint Lavender... there’s also a very likable musky Cashmere Wood bottom... in the drydown, as the spices begin to fade, you’ll get more of the Bergamot, which is sweet and lemony, and also some of the aromatic qualities of the Sage. Many people find it similar to L’Homme and La Nuit De L’Homme, I do understand where they come from, however those fragrances are heavier on the citrus, while Friday Edition is more of a spicy aromatic fragrance, which makes it quite unique and deserving of its own space in the fragrance world. Performance is moderate all around, moderate projection and moderate longevity. For some strange reason I find the olfactory image a bit more masculine, although non of the accords are really geared towards men. I also get the cake references... cardamom, anise, creamy lemon... those aromas can easily be found at any confectionery or cake shop. A very lovely everyday fragrance!!

During COVID lockdown, I got really into baking. One of my more experimental concoctions was an Earl Grey-flavored layer cake with lavender-flavored frosting. (I know that sounds weird, but it was really good.) That's what this smells like to me. I love it, but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea (if you'll forgive the pun). I think this is a very unisex scent, for what it's worth--sweet like a baked good and spicy like a chai, but not too much of either.

the opening smells more like D&G the one which honnestly I don't like, some sort of sweetness that is not for me. After 30mn it is the sweetness disapear and you get vanilla based scent not a sweet one nor warm one, at that point its diffently a different scent. I like it very much. can be worn any time except for summer

easily likeable, sweet and spicy perfume from El Ganso. was not a huge fan of anise, but this made me rethink that. middle notes are lavender, sandalwood and tonka bean. it's a casual fragrance that can be worn anytime, but seems to be best at night.

Hidden gem. The reviews that say it smells like cake are spot on! To my nose this shares no comparison to the one, tbh I like this fragrance more than the one. You can find this fragrance for 35$ which is a great deal on this beauty!

Not really D&G or YSL but trying to describe better the aroma is Code Armani-ish . It shines by its own . I really liked a lot . Price and Quality combo is excellent !!

Very underrated. Great scent, great longevity I think its unisex. my wife also wears and likes it. Super compliment getter 🫰

It's like a combination of La Nuit with Armani Code but with better performance than both of them.

I was influenced to buy this by FragranceFan(you smiley tree cutter downer reviewer guy you). I think like me he pretty much likes everything. He said it was a lot like Dolce and Gabbana The One. I've been hearing about the greatness of Dolce and Gabbana The One for years, and I never have put my nose on it. So I decided to buy it. When I first got it I sprayed it on my hand, and I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something more like Michael Kors for Men or something like that for some reason. What I got was a very two thousands kind of sweet, aromatic, very safe, mass appealing fragrance. I decided to give it a full wearing today. It's pleasant enough with decent longevity and okay projection. I did get a couple compliments(I'm fat and ugly so it was the fragrance). I love the bottle it's simple and elegant, but I haven't decided how I feel about the fragrance itself. I've been trying to figure out what this most reminds me of, and I keep thinking of an Ed Hardy fragrance or the original black Mustang(yes the car) fragrance that was made by Estee Lauder. I think it's more like the Mustang fragrance, but I think I liked that one better, and I may like the Ed Hardy better too.

Great, minimalistic presentation and a solid sprayer. Creamy, sweet, powdery, a little fresh. Reminds me of a cake, doesn't smell cheap at all. This is more of a niche-like approach, very different from all the other designer cheapies you can find in European drug stores. Daytime casual wear, I think you can wear it year-round, but be easy on the trigger in the Summer. Not an overly masculine fragrance, this one could easily be unisex. In the opening, it reminded me a little bit of Le Male, then it quickly transitioned to this cake-like smell that I can't really explain. If you like to share your fragrances with your significant other, then this could be a good buy for you. I prefer this over Part Time Hero, because it's much more unique. (I only smelled it on a tester strip though, no idea about the performance, should be good)

#2 review On my skin, El Ganso Friday Edition opens very spicy and warm, with prominent cardamom and lavender right from the first spray. I was sceptical about the anise note at first, but in this case it adds a pleasant licorice‐like detail instead of dominating the scent. As it dries down it becomes noticeably sweeter and a bit powdery and creamy. Longevity is great, I get more than 7 hours without any problem. Overall I really enjoy this fragrance, it is a solid choice with a warm and cozy feeling, but for summer or hot days I would leave it on the shelf.

When I first spray it, I'm hit with the familiar smell of The One EDP, but it feels much creamier. Additionally, this scent has a touch of anise, which gives me a hint of warm pan de muerto from Mexico. After about 10 minutes, I begin to detect a touch of lavender that adds to the opening notes, which helps the transition into a dry down—a rich base that is soft and creamy thanks to the tonka and cashmere. The dry-down reminds me a lot of Ferragamo's Uomo, and it stays on my skin for about six hours.

Very, very similar to CK One Shock, opens bright and spicy, the middle is where it shines, the anise note takes the lead, the drydown is boring though, a basic vanilla scent. Projection is close, longevity average. Great for date nights in cold weather , if you don ́t have anything similar then go for it, super cheap, but if you are under 25 I ́d go for One Shock for the same price.

Bought for $20 Aus ($14 US) and a real steal at that price. This is a sweet aromatic fragrance. The anise is balanced with the other sweet notes and not as prominent as in fragrances such as Blue Sugar or Lolita Delimpicka Masculine. This is still easily detectable after 12 hours.

To me this smells like vanilla burnt popcorn. Probably the anise in the middle gives that burnt vibe. Its alright, it does not immediately remind me of D&G the one. D&G the one has more dept, is more 3d. If this is even a clone of that perfume then it is a 2d version.

Don't know why but not enjoying the mixture of creamy sandalwood and sweet Tonka notes in this one. The base note however is quite addicting. Really recommend for date night. The perfume overall doesn't feel like cheapies.

This is closer to Pi or Code than LNDL, The One or Le Male. Smell pleasant, tonka driven, pretty much static during the lifetime. Good for the price, with good performance.

Smells like thick cake. Would do good in dry harsh bone chilling winter evenings.
