Musk Ameer

She lights an incense stick at 3PM. Outside, children laugh and play in the street, while white linen sheets hanging throughout the room sway gently in the refreshing breeze drifting through the wide-open window. It's settled now: there will be no more blue days—only blue skies, forever. I'm always amazed by the quality of El Nabil's fragrances. In France, it's a brand widely available in incense shops and African or Middle Eastern stores. Their concentrated perfume oils are remarkably affordable, usually costing no more than a few euros. Yet they have nothing in common with the mass-market fragrances you'd find on supermarket shelves. Frankly, they feel far closer to niche perfumery than to generic shampoo-like perfumes. So, what about Musc Ameer? I was especially intrigued by the presence of hyacinth and narcissus in the note pyramid. Even when relying on synthetic aroma molecules, that's an unusual pairing outside the niche perfume world. In reality—and this applies to every El Nabil fragrance I've tried—it's better to focus on the base than on the top or heart notes. The base tells you the fragrance's true character; the rest is a kind of magic that should simply be allowed to unfold. Reading the note pyramid gives you a sense of its nuances rather than an exact idea of what it smells like. Musc Ameer is luminous, golden, and unmistakably diurnal, yet it also possesses a quiet mysticism. Throughout the day, I caught echoes of incense and tobacco intertwined with bright citrus zest. It's warm without being overwhelming, comforting without sacrificing maturity, and touched by a faint sense of nostalgia. That's exactly what hyacinth evokes for me. Even if I can't clearly identify it, I recognize its personality. I loved wearing this fragrance; its whispers were endlessly comforting. Musc Ameer is the sunlit counterpart to Musc Black or Oud Warda, whose glowing embers burn darker and feel far more haunted. Although its projection is nowhere near as powerful, it reminded me of Divin'Enfant and Jasmin et Cigarette by État Libre d'Orange, only in a more approachable way—without ever becoming simplistic or caricatural. As Karl Lagerfeld once said—not in these exact words—elegance doesn't depend on money or on the prestige of what you wear, but on authenticity and how naturally it belongs to you. And I can say, with considerable confidence, that Musc Ameer is an elegant and refined fragrance. Blue skies forever.

This is a very pretty, sweet floral scent. I like rubbing it on my wrists and behind my ears and layer another fragrance on top. It’s very pretty on its own too and projects pretty well for the price. I’m not the biggest fan of musk and white florals but this is an exception since it was love at first sniff
