Cuoium, right away. Orto Parisi Cuoium--dry leather, hay, dried cow manure, a whiff of gasoline, sun-baked soil. Slightly more restrained than Gualteiri's version. This is my first experience of animalic ambergris, and I'm smitten. Now to just find a decant of Anonim Golden Ambergris...

As usual with Electimuss, the listed notes won't exactly prepare you for the actual experience of smelling the fragrance, I was expecting a resinous musk-oud bomb done in a middle eastern style, after all this is a Kuwait market exclusive. Instead this smells like the base (and only the base) of the darkest green leather chypre imaginable. Bracingly herbal and mossy with raw animalic leather and black musk, smoky civet and medicinal oud. If that doesn't sound confrontational enough, the entire composition is soaked in what smells like a mixture of diesel and crude oil, ironically or perhaps not, the main export of Kuwait. The only source of sweetness and brightness, providing a somewhat pathetic attempt to balance the never ending barrage of dark dense animality, is a token soft powdery violet, its not significant but its input is appreciated and provides a point of contrast. Al Kout manages to shock, disturb, intrigue and excite every time, it has an addictive and enigmatic mystique about it that keeps me coming back for more. This will only be appreciated by the most experienced or possibly jaded noses, but to those people it will be extremely rewarding!

To me it smells nothing but Ambergris. Horrifying for me and anyone unfortunate enough to be around me when i sprayed it. I simply can't wrap my head around in what setting or place this would be used.

Alkout | Electimuss Slightly linear, lacking complexity, and disappointingly inexpressive. Pyramid: Leather, labdanum, oud, ambergris, violet, civet, black musk. Initially, labdanum is very prominent; the scent is bitter, medicinal, and acidic, reminiscent of dark-toned medications (like Buscopan and Tylenol). This is accompanied by a smoky, herbal, bitter, pungent, and salty aroma, with a clary sage-like vibe, though here it seems to be used to emulate ambergris, which is certainly not natural. There's also a chemical solvent-like smell, specifically acetone, which is quite present in the opening moments. After two hours, the pungent and acidic bitterness of the labdanum loses intensity. In the drydown, the bitter medicinal vibe diminishes, giving way to a smoky, herbal, earthy, bitter, and woody aroma similar to dried thyme. This herbal thyme aspect is accompanied by a smokiness resembling the scent of burnt herbs (thyme and oregano). All of this coexists with a high dose of black musk: astringent, acrid, dark, pungent, repulsive, and animalic. From this point onward, the scent remains linear without any further development. The oud is smoky, very woody, bitter, and dark. General Characteristics: Bitter, acidic, sour, astringent, smoky, chemical, herbal, spicy, repulsive, and dark. I don't find it challenging or foul, but it's so inexpressive that, for me, it's dispensable. Longevity > Long-lasting Projection > Moderate Rating: 3/10 (for quality).

Ah Electimuss, I can’t hate on anything this a house puts out. They gave me Amber Aquilaria, a masterpiece of a fragrance and the only one I didn’t mind spending $500 for, it’s worth every penny and more. This one is a beast and yet I can’t stop smelling my hand. I love it, but hubby hates it. This is a fragrance I can and will wear when I’m at home alone for my own enjoyment. But since I run a business from home, it’s all good . A challenging fragrance and I agree it’s one for the true fragrance lover . There’s more to life than gourmands and fruity florals. PS guys give this one a chance. The dry down is so good. It’s much more tame and pleasant smelling . Although i love all the stages of this fragrance, most ppl will love the dry down best.

Alkout is a very green, acidic, astrigent, bitter, perfume that is quite repulsive. Main player here is IBQ and something else green herbal almost like tomato leaf. Oud - not detected. Gasoline - not detected. Labdanum - not a trace. How can a perfume pyramid be presented as 1 thing, and actual perfume aroma to be completely different? Not worth the price, no creativity, nothing beautiful about the perfume and honestly an insult to Kuwait.

Notes from the brand, written on the package: TOP None lol MIDDLE None lol BASE Oud, Ambergris, Labdanum and Musk on the website writes: violet, oud, civet, leather and musk. no heart or top notes lol Is it correct? Google translates this word, latin? to "out".

Herbal resins, slightly bitter, slightly medicinal, not smoky and maybe a bit rubbery. Basically it's all about resins. Very nice. Similar resins are also in Hypnotic Leather by Jousset Parfums.
