Mercurial Cashmere

I bought the Electimuss Luxury Discovery Set and this was one of the 20 samples at the time of purchase. Before buying the set, I was pretty adamant that I was going to buy Imperium, but given you get the cost of the discovery set off a full bottle, it just makes sense to buy. I smelt every sample on the provided strips to begin with, before putting aside the 7/8 that stood out to me. I didn't check the reviews here beforehand, and I'm glad I didn't, because based on the above, you'd assume this scent leant heavily feminine and it probably would have skewed my opinion, but I wouldn't say is the case at all. On paper I can see the argument, but on skin, to me it actually leans more masculine. Maybe it manages to be a true unisex and transforms based on the wearer. Whatever the case, I highly recommend trying this, whether you're male or female. I find this scent to be truly special, to my nose and my taste. I have worn it on skin both for a day in the office, and on a Sunday afternoon lounging around the house. For reference, it's currently spring, it's not warm, but also not cold - mild to nice let's say. This is what I expect of Niche perfumery, it opens with an instant hit of something attention grabbing, and it settles down into a beautifully sweet and comforting Caramel Vanilla, although manages to retain enough about it to not become another generic Vanilla scent, and it doesn't become too Gourmand, which isn't a profile group that typically does well for me. It's comforting, not sickly. It maintains a backbone of woody amber, which for me help it maintain a masculine edge, but I can see this working for both Men and Women, depending on the circumstance and situation. I can see this scent working well in the colder months in the office, as well as as a date night scent. It probably is a bit more mature if you're male, 25-30+ potentially. As I said earlier, I find it to be an extremely comforting scent, so it also works well as lounging around scent for me. Is it a safe blind buy? I think if you like vanilla scents, it's probably hard to go wrong, but otherwise, if you have any interest in picking up any Electimuss scents, just get the discovery set and decide for yourself, as you'll get the money off a full bottle anyway, and you might find a scent that surprises you, as this one did me. I ended up buying three different scents off the back of the discovery set, this being one of them, and as I said, this is pretty special to me. Obviously taste is personal, but I'm so glad I didn't just buy Imperium without trying the set first, as I discovered another two gems. Love it.

Tuberose-heavy opening. Creaminess comes in shortly after, followed by the vanilla. Dries down to a tuberose gourmand. I'm a tuberose lover but this doesn't do it for me-- that being said it's an objectively nice scent. I like my tuberose a little fresher (JM Tuberose Angelica) or darker (Givenchy L'Interdit). If your brain lights up at the words "tuberose gourmand" then you'll love this. For me tuberose and gourmand are best kept separate. Edit: almost a year later and I ended up being gifted a bottle of this. Decided to give it a proper chance and fell in love. It’s still very much a Tuberose gourmand, but after wearing this for a couple of days the word “cashmere” finally earned its place. It’s a very warm fragrance, sits close to the skin but also projects sufficiently (I do recommend overspraying a bit to increase projection). This settles into something extremely cozy and inviting, the type of fragrance that makes you want to stick your nose into your wrist and inhale.

So, I bought this at my friend's boutique in Orlando and had the opportunity to meet the owners of the House of Electimuss. I had met them previously at ScentXplore last year in New York. Great guys! Today I put my nose on MANY of their offerings and kept landing on this one. I get why some think it leans too feminine for their taste, but I absolutely love this and I can absolutely say that any confident gentleman can easily rock this... The longevity is good, along with the projection and sillage. Of course, all fragrances are subjective to each individual taste and preference, but I am VERY happy with this one...a great add to my collection.... As a side note I live in Florida where it is hot basically year round and this is definitely versatile enough to wear on any season... Anyway, my opinion and two cents... Well wishes to everyone and keep smelling good!!!!

I'm typing this with the smile on my face of having found another 10/10 for my wishlist. This is one pretty complex, hard to describe, but blended in a way that all notes point in the same direction, if that makes any sense. It opens with a super sparkly fruity punch, a bit minty, without being overly sweet. In the middle the happy fruityness takes a darker turn, without losing its brightness. And on the long drydown you are surrounded by this personal bubble of sweet, fresh gourmand that's waiting for the smallest breeze to announce itself. It may be too sweet for summer, but it's perfect for the whole rest of the year. Dressed up or casual, at home or a date. It's unique but familiar, and again, a solid 10/10 deliciousness for me. This is at the top of my wishlist right now. It is my 4 year old daughter's favorite fragrance on me, and I understand why; it is so beautifully comforting! A warm embrace of ambergris, cashmere, and caramel with the soft femininity of iris & violet. I think I will wait until autumn to purchase a full bottle for my budget's sake and because it feels more appropriate for cooler seasons, but I have been so impressed with the Electimuss fragrances I sampled. EDIT: purchased a bottle at the beginning of October, and I can't get enough of it; this is the perfect fall scent IMO. I layer it on top of Bath & Body Works Wicked Vanilla Woods lotion and use Victoria Secret's Warm & Cozy mist in my hair. The 3 of these together are phenomenal!

Really love how that smells. But for that price, I expected a bit more. It smells refined, light, airy. The opening is gorgeous, then the dry down becomes a bit more generic. You must love tuberose to enjoy this, it's very tuberose forward on my skin. It definitely smells niche, but I don't know, it doesn't make me want to splurge for a full bottle. After a few hours, it reallys only smells of powdery musks on my skin, and I like the smell of it. Performance is great. But this is the kind of fragrance that if you love it, you really love it and it becomes a signature scent. At a discounted price it's a way better buy. Overall, a very good fragrance still, love it. It's unisex leaning feminine to me.

I’m so confused by these reviews! Everyone seems to be commenting on how long Mercurial Cashmere lasts, but I’ve purchased two decants from two different places, and that is not the case on my skin. Unfortunately. This is such a gorgeous, soft, tuberose-forward vanilla/amber scent on my skin. Girly, sexy...I’m obsessed. I’d buy a full bottle in a heartbeat if it lasted longer than 30 minutes. Sadly, it fades to nothing within that time. I’ve genuinely never experienced such poor performance from such an expensive fragrance before. Devastating. Although, I did just stumble upon Pantheon Roma’s A, which smells pretty similar and lasts forever, so at least I’ve got that. Small comforts.

The opening is an absolute blast of sweet and spicy tuberose that will blow your hair back. In about an hour that fades into salty sweet purple florals, softer and more approachable. The florals remain for the entire wear, and fade slowly. There is no ‘drop off.’ In the dry down sweet caramel comes forward along with warm cashmeran and oud. The vanilla is milky and rich. I imagine wearing this dressed in a heavy ivory turtleneck sweater on a drizzly spring or fall day. Sometimes the ambergris tempts me to wear this in the heat, and I’m quickly reminded that this is a cool weather scent (mid 70s max).

This is an amazing take on Iris - musk, vanilla, caramel mixed well with powdery Iris. It does have a bit of a designer vibe but I don’t mind it, the dry down is very soft and sophisticated. When I spray I bathe in it and it’s never enough.... Intoxicating I see many compared it to Olympia and since I don’t know many designer smells I went to smell it and see for myself if I overpaid for something that smells like a cheap fragrance. I am happy to report that this synthetic flower concoction that’s called Olympia has nothing to do with Mercirual Cashmere. End of.

This is such a cosy and comforting warm sweet vanilla scent, laced with tuberose which leans bubblegummy/grape soda. It sounds basic and it potentially is but feminine and lovely nonetheless. It may bot be the most sophisticated fragrance out there, but it smells of childhood nostalgia! This features many of my favourite notes which doesn’t always turn out as you would expect but this is yummy. It smells like the fragrance to accompany wearing a matching lingerie set of satin and lace under a cashmere tracksuit with freshly blow dried glossy hair.

This perfume house has really impressed me; not only the bottles are beautiful, the liquid art inside is truly captivating. I’m not a fan of sickly sweet fragrances but I appreciate a touch of it when the notes are in harmony. Mercurial Cashmere has an enveloping softness, it’s delicate yet it has a strong presence. Tuberose, iris and vanilla are noticeable, the Oud note is distant but it’s there... there’s a pinch of spice which I love. Overall a beautiful fragrance.

Such a beautiful cashmeran tuberose. To me, the caramel feels more suggestive -- like I can tell my nose in hindsight I smell caramel, but I really smell cashmeran and tuberose and it's intoxicating. Great elevated elegnat gourmand white floral -- it's so cozy, but so goddamn fancy and also dessert-y.

Beforehand I must say that I am not a tuberose fan and I don't like salty notes and despise Olympea. Well, this perfume is a masterpiece in cold weather. Creamy, spicy florals with an oudy dry down. Beautiful, strong, special and a compliment getter if one doesn't overdo. 9/10

Mercurial Cashmere is an elegant spicy Tuberose woody vanilla perfume.its not smell cheap at all to my nose.tuberose is used in many perfumes doesn't make it identical to generic or cheap. It's so well blended. I love it

Rouge Malachite and Olympea Intense

Firstly, I want to mention that at first, I really loved the smell of Mercurial Cashmere. There was something about the blend of the citrusy top, floral mid and the gourmand base that really resonated with me. Some people really don't like the tuberose in here but tuberose is a floral that I can really like in certain fragrances. After I purchased a bottle, for the first few wearings I really enjoyed it as well. But after wearing it for 10 times, I felt that this fragrance is too linear for me to enjoy. What you get from the start is what you get for the whole duration of the fragrance. Sadly for me, it became too cloying for my nose. However, I really do enjoy the smell of Mercurial Cashmere on other people. It's just not that enjoyable for me being the wearer. This was going to be my signature when I first purchased but right now but now I have other fragrances that I use instead of this one. Longevity and Sillage is pretty good. Around 7 hours longevity and good sillage for 3 hours. Price is reasonable for 100ml. Bottle looks really nice. I'd say this fragrance is unisex and can lean feminine due to the florals but I think anyone could wear this fragrance. Might be a bottle to give to the future mrs. Also, I also want to add that this fragrance smells very different on different people. Some people really get some of the accords emphasised off their skin. Some people really get that strong floral heart off their skin so definitely give it a wearing on skin. Definitely a try before you buy kind of fragrance. I will be trying to swap my bottle for a bottle of Imperium as I feel that one is more enjoyable for me.

I like Mercurial Cashmere. Did I expect more based on the hype?? Certainly yes, but it a nice, spiced floral: tuberose/iris/violet with a smooth cashmere/vanilla/woody/musky base. This is the strongest/loudest as first impression from the three I’ve chosen to sample this time. It’s a more complex, interesting, niche take on tuberose than the designers offerings in 2024. For some reason, even though I am crazy about tuberose, and I like spices and sweet/vanilla based perfumes I am not completely sold on Mercurial Cashmere. I can acknowledge objectively the artistry that was put into creating these intense scents, but it doesn’t move me. I want my perfumes to bring out emotions in me when I put them on, make me feel feelings, and exactly like with Caspian Cherry, Mercurial Cashmere is falling short on that. Edit: five hours later it has disappeared entirely from my skin. Hasn’t even faded to a skin scent, it’s entirely gone. Bummed!

I first discovered Mercurial Cashmere through the official discovery set, and it was an immediate standout. The opening pairs a touch of bergamot with softly crackling spices before unfolding into a velvety heart of creamy tuberose, iris and violet subtly lifted by ambergris. As it settles, the fragrance reveals a comforting base of caramel, tonka bean, and musk, anchored by a gentle woody accord. On my skin, longevity is around six hours with moderate projection. It's a beautifully composed unisex fragrance that leans feminine, wrapping the wearer in a soft, cashmere like aura, comforting, and elegant.

I honesty really like this. It's smells pretty and opulent. To my surprise, it projects more on my skin compared to my sweater that I wore it with. The scent isn't totally unique and share similar profiles with some crowd-pleasing designer fragrances. It's very nice in my opinion, but my boyfriend and I thought that it's not really worth the $310 price point. If it were on sale I'd probably debate with myself and ask whether I need it or not. For now, I'll pass. But that can also change in the future since I'm also going to test Vixere soon. :)

I was assuming this one would be quite a cozy scent due to Cashmere in the name. It’s not really what I expected. It is similar to Olympea, but niche style. The top and mid notes are dominated by the base, which is a cashneran, ambery musk. It’s a musk I have found in some unisex higher priced perfumes and I do enjoy it, although I wish the florals and caramel shined a bit more. I find myself craving this musk note occasionally, but I’m not sure if I will be purchasing a full bottle. I will enjoy my decant for now.

Very powdery sweet with the violet and iris as one would predict. Cashmere and oud isn’t too bad here, it’s pretty soft and I can’t really detect oud or cedar. I more so get a gummy resin, the gummy must be from tuberose but not sure why it’s resinous to me. It’s too sweet for my liking, as violet tend to be. But it is one of the more bearable takes.. Maybe I’ll revisit in winter.

I love this scent, beautiful floral, a lil sweet. Hard for me to describe. It’s really one of the houses best. Only problem I have is that it doesn’t project and doesn’t last long on me. But that could just be my skin. Not many fragrances last long on me unless it’s a very strong perfume that chokes other ppl...lol This one is full bottle worthy, even if it doesn’t last long.

Finally something nice and easy going from Electimuss' Discovery set. Mercurial Cashmere is a crowd pleaser, a bit luxurious, it does have iris so a powdery quality. I'd say a feminine leaning evening perfume. A sexy scent, good sillage but staying power is an issue. Rather safe blind buy for a female. It did garner some compliments too.

Opens into a cloying mix of tonka, caramel, and cashmere on a bed of nuanced florals. Balanced, more or less harmonious, but somehow misses the mark. Doesn’t smell or work particularly good. Definitely an acquired taste. Gets decent after about 15-20 minutes. And decent it is!

I enjoy Mercurial Cashmere due to its sweetness, femininity and fluffyness. It has something interesting that makes you want to smell it again and again, and it resembles the 90s diva scents without getting overpowering. The vanilla-cedar combination is a lovely one!

A face-meltingly bright opening of pink pepper and bubblegum tuberose, which gives way to a core of creamy caramel and purple flowers. Sweet, creamy, floral. Vanillic cedar as a skin scent. Strong projection begins to fade after 3-4hr, longevity 10-12hr.

This house is either a hit or miss for me. While I like Mercurial cashmere, I agree it does smell designerish and nothing unique. It doesn’t feel well blended either. I have a 10ml decant. It’s enough. I wouldn’t pay full price for this one .

Another Electimuss I like though not enough to buy a full bottle. Initially this one came across to me ask sweet warm and comforting after the 2.5 hour dry down I picked up a weak praline, I would rather that note be weak, and floral. lovely.

As @RisingChaos mentions, bright peppery tuberose with creamy caramel purple flowers. Pretty much sums it up. I really like it. But I like it more for my wife to wear and not me. Great scent but not the one I want. On to the next.

I liked this one when I first got it but as I’ve learned it’s nuances and how it wears with different weather, I’ve realised that I really don’t like it that much. If anyone wants to buy it from me, please message me (UK only).

Once you let this fragrance dry down for thirty minutes, it becomes a very nice sweet woody scent. Definitely very feminine and something I’d want to smell on my girlfriend, not me.

Gorgeous fragrance. People are lying about the longevity though, this stuff does not stay, at least not in winter! Skin scent after 2 hours wear.

Nice but generic. I won't be able to pinpoint it. Cheap tuberose like L'Interdit but a bit frutier.

I sort of expected a heavy, cosy, and super soft cashmere jumper type of scent to wrap around myself with this one. I've just tried it this evening, as the temperature has dropped here in the UK, and I was craving something comforting whilst I shivered away at home. I just don't seem to get the same experience as some other people on here with this one who loved this scent, although I do for some of the more negative and indifferent reviews. sadly. I didn't dislike this particular offering from this house, my experience hasn't been unpleasant, but I found it to smell boring and, if I'm being honest here, extremely cheap. The quality of ingredients and blending in this one compared to the other samples I've been trying just doesn't match up at all. So, It's unoffensive and smells like a nice shampoo or soap to my nose, and regrettably nothing beyond that. I agree with the reviewer who compared it to grape soda, actually. It does have this very artificial style fruitiness to it, especially on the opening, which immediately conjured up images of me eating a tin of lychees and peach slices in syrup. I have never been a fan of tinned fruit, so this association didn't woo me at all. Not only was it eating tinned fruit, it was also taking drags on my grape sweet flavored vape. Not all that disgusting, oddly this factor saved it from being a dislike. I didn't detect any violet, or even cedar, just a watery and barely present oud with some sweet vanilla musk at the base. I'd hoped there would be far more of the pink pepper and cardamom at the opening, which I think would have made this linear perfume much more interesting, but it wasn't really there much. The bergamot was also pretty weak and dusty instead of bright and zesty. The dry down is just generic fruity sweets.... grape soda, basically. It's not for me this one, but it IS fascinating to see how polarising this particular perfume is too. It really seems that the subjective experience here varies greatly.

Mercurial Cashmere is a perfectly pleasant yet unexceptional floriental with a slight gourmand touch. It opens with soft smoothly blended spices and quickly transitions into the long lasting airy floral heart which primarily consists of blooming mentholated tuberose, powdery violet and silky iris, the base is a sweet ambery musk with touches of caramel and cashmere. Do not expect to find any oud or even much of a woody base in the drydown. Mercurial is sure to please many people with its strong performance, its sensuous scent and unisex leaning slightly feminine nature. For my taste though Mercurial was the first real disappointment from Electimuss, from whom I have come to expect bold and exceptional releases full of character, whereas this feels like it could come from any number of niche houses.

This fragrance contains Hexyl Cinnamal and Benzyl Benzoate. Animal studies have demonstrated that Hexyl Cinnamal is an endocrine disruptor. In 2009, "The Journal of Applied Toxicology" published an in-vitro study (i.e., conducted on human breast cells) which demonstrated that the chemicals known as Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, and Butylphenyl methylpropional (aka Lilial) are all estrogenic (aka "oestrogenic" in the U.K.) chemicals--do better, Electimuss. Choosing to smell sexy shouldn't be a hazardous decision.

The notes on my sample from ScentXplore don't mention vanilla, but this is the same beast medicinal vanilla as Mancera's Velvet Vanilla to me. So I would agree that the sweetness of this vanilla (or the caramel) overshadows everything else and makes it a "dislike" for me. It does show more woody complexity than Mancera's offering but that still doesn't help.

Sweet tuberose with lots of spices and vanilla. It has a touch of citrusy fresh, but in general it’s just a caramel-ish type of tuberose and orange blossom (think Love by Kilian). Not for me.. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

This is a clean scent, like a creamy fresh laundry scent. Quite uplifting and not oudy. Kinda sweet, only traces of vanilla, in a good way. Unisex leaning feminine.

Reminders me a lot of miss Dior bc of the pink pepper.

This is a weird scent. I get a lot of pink pepper right away in the first spray and I do get violet but then it turns into a cashmeran bomb w/ a grape soda vibe. My sister loved Welsh's grape soda when she was little and this perfume reminds me of going to the local store in town and she would always get a grape soda as a treat. Smells like a perfume version of a grape soda w/ a hint of violet. Another Candle scent.

Not for me. Clashing notes. Jarring. Must be my chemistry/physiology. This is a no all day long.

This smell like house cleaner to me. I think Electimus isn’t the house for me.
