Pomona Vitalis

This is an interesting fragrance that's more of a geranium scent than a rose one, despite what you might assume. If you do long for the menthol bitterness of geraniums than you'd be delighted with this one, as it feels packed with them at the start. The opening is a blast of cold geranium, which is very realistic in my opinion, then a lot of styrax and patchouli to make this earthy and woody. A most beautiful sandalwood then shows up which warms things up with it's creamy and lemony embrace. The sandalwood in here is very much the main player during the dry down on this one, which I was pleased about, along with an extremely shy and delicate rose somewhere off in the distance. I found that this was much more if a woody, amber type of scent, which I was suprised ahout after seeing all the sweet sounding notes. There is some fruit here though still, and I did get the lychee and strawberry notes appearing fleetingly here and there, but mainly this is a geranium explosion that gives way to sandalwood and patchouli more than anything. I really liked this one and it took some twists and turns I didn't expect. I really loved the journey of opposites, as it moved from bitter and cold to sweet and warm. Good stuff! Update - this continues to enthrall me. It later moved back to the cool menthol geranium stage, then back to the warm sandalwood again. How? This is awesome and the sandalwood and geranium notes in this are just perfection. Note - To all you other sandalwood lovers out there; if you own Santal blanc perfume then try layering it over this in the dry down and thank me later. This is my solution to how infuriatingly quick SB disappears. Layering it with this one seems to hold the rice note is SB for a much longer period, and the mingling of the two sandalwoods with occasional visiting wafts of geraniums and fruit is so pleasant for hours.

OMG... this is divine!. Moderately sweet and a tad powdery. I detect a minty note floating around at the beginning which surprised me and I absolutely love. The heart of Pomona is pure rose...gently beating throughout, leading you to an exquisitely powdery, balsamic and woody drydown... This blew my nose off and blew my mind at the same time ... in a good way. The styrax and sandalwood are very strong in the beginning. Then the strawberry and litchi start resonating, almost like a hum, in the background. Ultimately, the dry down is a very potent, wet, amber combined with overripe fruit. A very unusual fragrance that is worth exploring if you are an amber junkie. Unisex and not for the "shrinking violet" type. You definitely have to be bold and on your game to wear this.

As someone who owns 190 frags, many of them niche - this is totally unique. And addicting. The quality level smells immense. Its floral, fruity and juicy. Then rich and almost chocolate amber. It's resinous and musky with the floral fruitiness hanging on. Tremendously amazing. Love it or hate it, you must tip your hat to the perfumer. An artistic victory. I happen to love it. 9 rating.

Splendid! A great find. Powdery-sweet-ambery-sandalwood fragrance. The mint accord envelops throughout giving it a very fresh and pleasing effect. Unisex and versatile. Shukran Habibi!

Ooh, this is an interesting one that I may only own in decant form. I love it... but I don't exactly want to smell like it. Growing up, there was this weird play-dough like toy I had that smelt exactly like this. Either that toy/substance smelt absolutely incredible, or this smells remotely juvenille (in the best possible way). Breaking it down, it doesn't really remind me of any of the fragrances in the "reminds me of" section. Once it dries down, it becomes "natural" patchouli scent and not the kind you find in Oud Satin Mood, Rose Prick etc. I think this is a great nostalgia perfume... and its weird. I'm still exploring Electimuss.

Bitter geranium and earthy patchouli with a minty background marks the opening, gets more powdery and a touch fruitier, floral, and more vanillic as it dries down. The opening bitterness is still there, but there's a jammy effect that also lingers on the skin. A bit contradictory, but it somehow works with this scent. Cold weather only, I'd never wear this in hot weather. Perfect for the holiday season in fact, I'd wear this during Christmas Day. Projects very strongly, you don't need much for it to stick with you all day.

Fresh, clean baby powder tinged with a soft, dusty rose. Juicy lychee & friends impart a thin, watery sweetness with a tart burst. Becomes more musky as it dries down but doesn't substantially change, it's always a powdery rose scent. Moderately soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr. You know how cinnamon doesn't dissolve in water and just kinda floats on top? That's this fragrance. A bowl of water, with a finely powdered rose dusted across the surface. It's not bad but they never quite meld.

This is truly beautiful and so well crafted. It’s sweet, powdery and aromatic but never goes over the edge in any direction. It’s designed to keep everything flowing in perfect harmony.

Reminds me of a lovely, boozy fruit cake, or a Christmassy chocolate liqueur, and I’m here for it. Yum!

Interesting scent. I equally like it and don't like it. Might be more enjoyable in slightly cooler weather, since I like the resinous elements. The patchouli is more present than rose, it's an amber patchouli with a buzz of fruit in the background. There's a lot of push pull going on with this for me, I keep moving my sample from the "keep" or "give away" piles and back again. I can see a guy wearing this and can see why other feel it is a more masculine side of unisex, but for me I could wear it easily with a velvet dress and heels. It reminds me vaguely of the patchouli in Chanel Coromandal.

First blast greeted me with a resinous menthol blend that quickly disappears, thankfully. As it is drying down I am getting more of the fruit and rose.. still very much resinous/leathery almost oudy. The fruits do not stand out on my skin, they just add a drop of sweetness. This fragrance isn't as bright & sweet as I expected looking at the notes, and I'm sensitive to resinous fragrances so I am personally not a fan of this one. But hey, some may love this. I will test again to see if I pick up anything different but so far, not bad but not for me.

It opens with menthol and licorice, then a creamy sandalwood, bordering lactonic, appears with the floral notes. It quickly turns in a rose+sandalwood scent that reminds me of fancy shaving soap. The patchouli appears eventually, but it's very very muted and softened by resinous and vanilla notes. I find it more masculine than unisex.

I like it. I will not buy a full bottle maybe travel size down the line. I have to many perfuems I need to start being more picky about what I buy. I Dot’n like that I don’t have anything similar to this. Is very unique maybe I will change my mind. I need to stop buying what I have similar.

Huge Geranium bomb, that’s where the menthol scent comes from that others mentioned. This is not rose. Do not blind buy. It is not as sweet as the notes would have you think (litchi, vanilla, benzoin) it is very earthy and bitter from the geranium, styrax and patchouli.

Saw this on sale, watched, and read a lot of reviews. Pls get checked bc this is not sweet. This is overdone powdery, screechy, and boring. Save your money and get a decant no matter how good of a sale price it has♡

Initial thoughts are of a minty floral fragrance. After a 2.5 hour dry down it smells faintly fruity, floral, and clean.

Bad. It reads as saccharinely powdery to me, but somehow isn't overwhelmingly sweet. The powdery-ness is a little tangy, in a bad way. There's something a little nauseating about the geranium/benzoin/styrax/patchouli profile lurking under the powder like a predator, amped up by the strident mint note that doesn't blend with anything. While not overpoweringly sweet, the tertiary sweet notes of strawberry and lychee just topple this unstable scent pyramid over. Smells like off potpourri or a luxury bath powder gone wrong. I tried it out while visiting my mother and we both agreed it was a big no. Not worth the Electimuss price tag, and Pomona herself is ready to smite someone. 1.5/10.

Pomona Vitalis reveals three distinctive aspects to me — and while I can concentrate and distinguish all three, I find I can’t experience them all at the same time. They unfold in phases, each with its own atmosphere. The first aspect is what I noticed the very first time I smelled it —from a small vial from Luckyscent. It’s a classic oriental amber accord: the kind you encounter in Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Grand Soir where it’s polished, clean, and sophisticated, or in Ambre Russe where it’s rough around the edges and artisanal. There’s also a kinship with L’Air du Désert Marocain, especially when the amber turns dry and dusty. This accord always fascinates me — a familiar structure, but seen from new angles. In Pomona Vitalis, it’s nuanced and floral to the max, carried by a substantial sweetness. For me, this is unmistakably a very sweet fragrance. The second aspect is the floral dimension, which I only discovered much later. It added depth and complexity. Suddenly, Pomona Vitalis opened up to me as a rose-centered scent — I picture a young rose, maybe even a white rose, blooming in the rain. It’s wet, drippy, and tender, And now, these days, Pomona Vitalis has transformed once again — now it’s all about Middle Eastern desserts. I picture trays of colorful Turkish Delights, drenched in sugar-dusted syrup, or that sticky honey glaze in freshly baked baklava. It’s incredibly loud and persistent on skin, and it works especially well for an evening walk, when the breeze carries its sweetness. It’s a type of fragrance that can overwhelm, so I am always cautious with the amount I spray. This profile overall is not something my hand reaches too often for, but for a specific occasion and specific mood it will work well. If you love sweet, Middle Eastern-inspired fragrances, this is definitely one to try.

Initially, after the first spray, you are greeted with a minty chocolate note which is more mint than chocolate. It was surprising and unique because I was not expecting it, but once that dries down then you get the magic. The rose smell is very similar to the rose used in Noir de Noir by Tom Ford. The lichee, along with the strawberry, and geranium gives it this creamy jammy vibe. The patchouli is what is giving it the chocolate cakey aroma and is what makes it similar to Noir De Noir. What you have here is a beautiful rose, fruity, patchouli fragrance that is unisex and luxurious. The initial spray tricks you into believing you are getting a mint fragrance but that almost acts as a cover that, when lifted, slowly introduce you to the other beautiful notes. Each note is presented in the dry down and the fragrance envelops you. If you are a fan of Noir De Noir or simply like Rose/patchouli combos then you will love this. For me, it's a wonderful fragrance that is suited for cool nights, or cold weather. You could wear it in the heat, because that mintiness gives it a cooling effect. This may not be suited for those who have not smelled a lot of niche brand fragrances because it's a journey to the notes. But one worth taking. Longevity 9/10 Projection 8/10 Scent Profile 8/10
