Spice D'Arno

Testing Spice d’ Arno from a Jovoy 2 ml sample. Spice d’ Arno has something really unique about how it smells. Which I find really appealing and addictive and I “blame” the novelty (to me) note of bran for that. I’ve got to admit that judging from the name I was expecting a scent with way more spices in it. It has a rather aromatic accent but that’s about it. The rest of the prominent notes are mostly from the opposite side like cashmere, resins, leather, amber, vanilla, iris and a mix of citruses. Nothing new under the sun but the result is really memorable. It’s a perfume that has a wow factor, very creamy and velvety thanks to the presence of iris and cashmeran. Elegant and opulent! I was honestly expecting to like better Caspian Cherry than Spice d’Arno but I prefer this way more. It’s unlike anything else I’ve tried or own and I’m intrigued... Will update later on the performance. Lasted about eight hours on skin. Projection was noticeably in the air for about two hours maybe. Not a beastly scent, but not a weak one for sure.

A beautiful new release from the British luxury brand. There are some curious reviews of this which for me are way off the mark. When I smell this, my nostrils are filled with the deliciousness of spiced baked goods. It's not just plain ol' vanilla, thankfully. In fact, I'd suggest closer references to something like Sweetie Aoud, thanks to the carb-laden bran note and a subtle oud note in the base, however it's much more wearable and zhuzhy. At times, it feels quite tonka-forward although it's not listed. The perfumer, Celine, says the main ingredient here is cistus absolute, but to me it's imperceptible, although I'm sure it has a distinct effect on the scent generally. For me, the drydown is all yummy, custardy vanilla with thyme and bran which gives it a fairly savoury inflection. I can forgive those for thinking this is not so summery, but to me, it works beautifully on a warm sunny morning paired with a crisp white linen outfit. Really lovely and well worth trying!

I just received my bottle, and this is my experience an hour into the fragrance. How would I describe what I am smelling so far: 1. A bit feminine fragrance. 2. Vanilla-forward fragrance (Think Althair from PDM but way softer and powdery). 3. It’s not fresh, but I think you can easily pull it off in the summer because of its softness and powderiness. 4. It’s definitely more interesting on skin than on cloth. I don’t think this is a strong performer, but I will update later. Do I like it? Yes. Is it full bottle worthy? On a discount, yes. Update: LOOOOVE this still feels more feminine to me but it is a stunner of a fragrance. If you love vanilla, then buy it (this is a soft, cakey vanilla). If you don’t like vanilla or would expect the darker facets of vanilla, then avoid it. I'm happy with it.

PDM Herod & Givency Pi vibes. It smells somewhat like sun tan lotion. Personally I really like tropical sun tan lotion fragrances so this is a win. I think the vanilla and saffron create an orange blossom vibe. I blind bought this and I am very pleased. For some reason I smell ginger maybe I’m tweaking but it has a light spicy and I mean light spicy vibe. Not a stinky spice. Very clean. Unisex but I personally think a man will do well pulling this off. Most of my blind buys are niche and most of them I like. This is a blind buy banger for me. After some time wearing it doesn’t seem to last long maybe up to 6 hours but no more for me. It is kind of weak pretty sad. But it is very natural mostly, non synthetic. Vanilla & Spice bomb. Gourmand facets.

I really think they were going for coconut mixed drink, on a hot day near a river. I will agree with reviews saying "this was to capture a warm river!" THIS does not, just as cupid kiss was just too dry to be considered excellent. But the scents are still so damn pleasing. This smells like a light coconut cookie paired with a spiced rum drink under an umbrella on a hot, 4 pm day. The performance is well enough, it reaches out softly, and has a good trail. I'd imagine this smells very light and spicey in the air off the skin. It's damn good. If you can grab at a discounter you won't regret it if your into tropical vacation type scents. 100% SAFE unisex!

Creamy orris, soft coconut (IM NOT a coconut fan at all +edit must be the Bran note mixed with leather giving off coconut) that isn't sunscreen smelling, spicey, gourmand here. This is 100% gourmand, and absolutely DIVINE. get this. Get it on sale, get it at full price. 400$ is steep but electimuss DOES ship INSANELY fast, and offer great 10 ml samples for 2 out of 3 of my purchases. They are KILLING the game right now. Only brand worth 350$-400 for tbh. It's steep, but THIS, Aquila absolute, silvanus, Trajan are all worth the price imo. I haven't smelled everything they offer, but quite a bit. House is overall amazing, again, imo.. 10 / 10 !!!

a gorgeously creamy and luxe vanilla with wheaty bran and rich cardamom on a bed of warm resins and powdery iris. Such a silky composition that opens with a smooth cardamom and balmy elemi that quickly gets taken over by a creamy vanilla enveloped in dusty bran and iris. You do get a hint of fresh thyme as a little green touch but its ultimately a bran heavy vanilla with that iris and warm, balsamic spices. The leather peeks through subtly but its feminine, soft, and worn in, never rugged or heavy. The dry down is a richer vanilla with warm myrrh and a bit of depth from the oud. Just simply lovely.

Gorgeous fragrance. Had to jump on this one after seeing the notes and finding it at a good price. It's a beautiful fragrance and glad I got to smell it. However, it's on the feminine side so likely something I'll be giving to my wife if she likes it. The opening is nice and unique, then dries down to something similar to Initios's Side Effect, but more feminine. Congratulations on yet another beautiful fragrance, Electimuss.

Absolute banger for those hot day a creamy milky cashmere coconut suntan lotion ish. I get the pepper at the top but dissappears quickly this is a more unisex then Mercurial Cashmere. beach days in the summer in a bottle

That's good. Really loved the opening. The dry down I'm less of a fan, on my skin the bran note really shines. I like this note but I'm not the biggest fan of it. Overall good. Unisex. Performance is good.

It suggests a more opulent interpretation of spiced woods and resins, positioning itself far from the minimalist freshness explored in recent reviews. Let’s step into the wearing experience and see how this richer, more assertive character takes shape on skin. Opening: The opening is aromatic, sweet, and citrusy. The most prominent notes are cardamom, elemi, bran, and vanilla, with cardamom and elemi leading the composition. The fragrance opens with a warm burst of cardamom that immediately sets a spiced, aromatic tone, carrying a touch of freshness alongside a faint medicinal edge that cardamom can sometimes display. Elemi quickly joins in, introducing a lemony, peppery, and lightly incensy resinous quality that adds brightness and texture to the opening. As the composition develops, the bran note emerges, presenting a dry, grainy accord that closely mirrors the bran used in The Scent Magnetic by Hugo Boss. Myrrh then enters as a balsamic, lightly smoky, and ambery accent, adding depth and complexity without overwhelming the core notes. Lastly, the iris also becomes more apparent, offering a refined powdery floral touch. Notably, it avoids the bold lipstick effect found in fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, instead remaining smooth, reserved, and well integrated into the overall structure. Performance: Performance is solid. Projection during the first hour is strong, extending to at least six feet and producing an immediately noticeable scent trail. After a few hours, projection settles into the four to five foot range, with sillage still clearly present. Around the seven to eight hour mark, projection reduces to roughly arm’s length, while the scent trail lingers faintly before the fragrance transitions into a skin scent shortly thereafter. When to Wear: Spice D’Arno is best suited for fall and winter wear and works well in both daytime and evening settings. Its warm, spiced sweetness allows it to be dressed down for casual wear or dressed up for more formal or special occasions. That said, its richness and presence make it less ideal for an office environment. Blind Buy: This is not a safe blind buy, largely due to the prominence of the bran note, particularly in the dry down. That dry, grainy accord will not appeal to everyone. However, for those who already enjoy The Scent Magnetic and are intrigued by the idea of a deeper, more textured, and niche-leaning interpretation, Spice D’Arno is absolutely worth sampling. Final Verdict: Spice D’Arno ultimately comes across as a more complex and niche-leaning take on Hugo Boss The Scent Magnetic. While it introduces added texture through resins, iris, and a slightly richer structure, the core identity remains closely tied to that familiar bran and vanilla framework. As a result, the fragrance feels competently composed and enjoyable, but not particularly distinctive in the context of my existing collection. Given how similar the overall experience is, Spice D’Arno ends up feeling redundant alongside The Scent Magnetic rather than a clear evolution or upgrade. That said, it serves as an interesting and respectable introduction to the house of Electimuss, and while it won’t be joining my collection, it has certainly left me curious to explore what else the brand has to offer. Been wearing this all today, and the first thing I can say with certainty is.... you'd better like Cardamom! From the second you spray to the final throes of it's life on the skin, cardomom is either at the forefront or lurking thereabouts. It's the strongest cardamom experience I've had since Veni by Histoires de Parfums, and the opening took me straight back to that one. A barely perceived soft pepperiness tickled the opening, and within an hour or so the non-sweet vanilla joined the show. Bran? It may be adding a texture to the vanilla but it's isn't overly obvious. I'm missing a lot of the listed notes to be honest and that's quite sad, as there are plenty there I usually enjoy. And no, it's not 'spicy'. At all. Overall Spice D'arno is a soft, rounded with fuzzy edges fragrance that is very easy to wear. Not that this smells the same, but it wears similar to something like La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL (which also has a cardamom note). I do quite enjoy this, but it's not pushing any boundaries, and if I didn't know it was Electimuss at £200, I would believe it was a top end designer frag at half the price if I was told so. Longevity 6-8 hours, with an hours projection then skin scent not long after. SIllage seems quite meagre.

This is an interesting offering from Electimuss. Just ignore the name, maybe it should be called Vanilla D’Arno. The initial spray is a bit of a mess; I cannot decipher any particular notes. It’s like all of the notes start at the same time, but it quickly settles down into a soft vanilla, herbal, creamy, wheaty goodness. The overall scent gets better when the citrus leaves. You are left with a creamy vanilla balanced perfectly with the graininess of the bran or wheat. It sounds strange, but it works. The grain keeps this fragrance unisex, I really think anyone could pull it off. The vanilla is not overly synthetic or sweet. It’s definitely unique and niche, but I am not sure when I would reach for it. Overall, I would rate it 7/10.

I get the notes of myrrh, vanilla, bran, and cashmeran. I am not smelling much oud or spice, this is more of a comfy lounging scent in my opinion. Vanilla D’Arno. It goes on a bit spiky and very warm like a rough wool blanket, but cools/smooths down after a few minutes. I smell some tropical floral note in here and I can’t put my finger on it. It really is a unique take on a vanilla fragrance, which is saying something considered how oversaturated the market is with vanillas. It isn’t absolutely boundary pushing, but it has a great balance and somewhat interesting transformation. It is certainly unisex almost leaning fem (but I still like it enough to wear it as a man). 8.6/10

Quite sweet as other scents from the designer. But this one is delishious. Has this creamy coconut almond vibe. Same direction as starlight from xerjoff but goes more in the direction of coconut than almond to my nose. Can't believe coco is not in there. The creamy coconut cardamom is much more pleasant than for example the jarring and overbearing synthetic note in le beau paradise garden. Overall good stuff as a comfy at home scent but feminine leaning for sure. This is the first real winner from the house for me. If I didn't own starlight I would consider buying a full bottle.

From the notes I expected vanilla / cereal grain / leather (in that order) similar to a Harvest Mouse or Sunshine Woman. The reality is a musk with an accent of vanilla, remiscent of Rosendo Mateu #5. The musk / Cashmeran lends a fluffy roundness to the scent. Certainly one of the nicest bottles I’ve seen, crystal and metal that weighs a ton, and an astoundingly good sprayer. In the cons column, the scent is a bit flat / designer-y, and lives close to the skin, a shy winter-time amber vanilla.

Mostly cardamom dominant, easy to wear fresh-spicy. If you like Armani Code, YSL la Nuit, Xerjoff Alexandria II, I'd say give it a try but just from smell point of view, the asking price is too much compared to the aforementioned. Though I see the brand usually gets heavy discounts online. Maybe that's the thing.

The first 5 min can resemble to that common sweet car air freshener, but after that, it is truly gorgeous. The drydown is eeringly similar to Lascia Ch'io Pianga by Filippo Sorcinelli. Great unisex frag!

The dry down is very similar to Divine Vanille. I got my sample from Jovoy, but won’t go for full bottle as I already have DV. Beautiful dry and spicy vanilla scent

The scent is really nice, unfortunately on my skin it is barely perceptible and lasts for 5 to 10 minutes

This fragrance is unique. Really different. Therefore, it's hard to describe because it doesn't smell like anything else, and frankly, based on some of the reviews below, the notes (in particular, the bran) are skewing people's impressions. Everyone's noses are different, so I won't say that people are wrong, but notes listed on a page or accords can skew the way we all view or smell things. So I'll try and describe what I smell, and the vibe, as simply as possible: It's a slightly feminine, close to unisex, "Clean Vanilla". It's linen-clean, fabric-softner style, but almost floral, with a definite vanilla base and undertone. I understand, but don't completely agree with the Eau Duelle comparison. It doesn't smell like Eau Duelle, but I imagine a person would wear it in a similar way, for similar reasons. Light, but not weak. Soft but present. It isn't overly spicy, not oudy at all, not loud or abrasive. Very, *very* smooth. Buttery smooth. It is just blended magnificently and so appealing, but unique. Nothing about it is complex, but because it's a mix of different things, it isn't simple either. Dig deep, and every note is there. But just smell it in the air, and it's a pleasant aromatic vanilla-clean bubble. Classy, upscale, but not stuffy, mature or unapproachable. Nobody would smell this on you and dislike it - but not everybody would want to smell like it, and I'll try to explain... A man could wear it (as I would), but it's more of a subdued, comforting, soft and approachable scent, not one that announces your presence. It's unisex, but it is very far from "masculine". And I think a woman would love to wear this too, but it doesn't have anything distinct enough about it that would make it stand out. It just smells... good! Very nice. An introvert's vanilla. Unique enough to intrigue the wearer, but subdued enough to not bother a stranger.

So i bought a randomized bag of 10 tester tubes 1 ml each, one of those testers was spice d'arno. It is the first fragrance from this house that ive smelled and tested, and im not impressed. The opening was... weird? a bunch of spices thrown together and an very strange scent of bran and leather that just confused my nose. however after 30 min the spices come together very well creating a sweet spicy scent with the vanilla. After 1-2 hours its just sweet vanilla. Honestly props for the way the fragrance evolves over time it's very interesting. However it isnt worth the money and the scent isn't really for me at all.

This fragrance contains Hexyl Cinnamal and Benzyl Benzoate. Animal studies have demonstrated that Hexyl Cinnamal is an endocrine disruptor. In 2009, "The Journal of Applied Toxicology" published an in-vitro study (i.e., conducted on human breast cells) which demonstrated that the chemicals known as Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, and Butylphenyl methylpropional (aka Lilial) are all estrogenic (aka "oestrogenic" in the U.K.) chemicals--do better, Electimuss. Choosing to smell sexy shouldn't be a hazardous decision.

Well, the name is misleading. If you start off with "Spice", it leads others to believe this may be Spice heavy. It isn't. Should be called D'Arno. This is the first from Electimuss that is just a meh for me. What i really get is like a burnt vanilla custard. Its ok just not something that moves me. The initial blast showed potential but it was very tame and downhill from that. Oh well, on to the next one in the discovery set.

It’s okay. Spice D’Arno comes across pretty sweet, but the vanilla is more like vanilla extract and less of a bourbon vanilla. It smells like a vanilla-scented wash-off marker with an added bran note. I don’t remember smelling much cardamom or myrrh. Generally not a difficult or overly complex scent, but doesn’t smell bad necessarily. Definitely try before you buy.

Hmm, this is a bit of a disappointment to me. I love my spices. And the spices here are great. Very dry. But it’s so linear. There’s no change in the way it smells, it doesn’t do anything exciting. Worth sampling as the spices are gorgeous but don’t expect too much from this scent.

Got it today, what a disappointment! This suppose to resemble the river of arno and it is freshness! But this is ain't any fresh! It is not even a summer scent. It is a vanilla, Vanilla and Vanilla!! No traces of any other notes! Just vanilla 98% and the rest is only cardamom .. Big pass, neither summer nor winter fragrance

@j03l Both of those are very common in perfume, and unless you're pouring the whole bottle on your skin every day, you're gonna be fine. There has been no definitive or large scale study that would put either of them on the official EU endocrine disruptor list. Hexyl Cinnamal is an irritant, but that's about it. Also, endocrine disruptors are all around us. If you don't wanna go insane worrying about them, trust the EU guidelines and don't use products with essential oils, especially at a high percentage - like tea tree oil products for your face, or even dabbing the pure form on pimples. The oil content in perfume is already low, and the percentage of each ingredient is obviously much lower. On top of that, there's very small amounts of oil in each spray. Like I said - unless you want to go insane avoiding every potentially harmful chemical around you, trust that practically all of them are already banned. And the ones that are not are likely not that dangerous, or we would know about it already. Most perfumes contain essential oils, especially the high quality, natural ingredient ones. No, it's not healthy. Neither is makeup or scented candles. At first spray, all I smell is sharp oud and nuttiness, almost like nutella, but less sweet because of quite medicinal oud. Nuttines is probably form the bran, opening is very interesting. Vanilla is also very detectable in the opening but it's not too sweet, it's mixed with little bit of citruses and aromatics and that makes the whole thing interesting and prevents it from going too gourmand. Unfortunately I smell no cardamom, I was hoping for a little bit more to brighten up and lift the whole story a little bit. Modern and loud composition, quite trendy I would say. After it settles down a little, it does get a lot sweeter, vanilla comes out more. I expected more spices considering the name, but it's just cozy and modern vanilla in the end. Nice but that's it. Good performance, 5 hours later I still smell it clearly just from spraying two sprays on my wrists. 3.5/5, not FBW for me. Testing from official 1.8ml sample vial.

i really, really like this. looking first at the note breakdown, i was worried this would lean too heavily in the spice, oud, leather direction but it doesn't. it's beautifully blended and balanced and makes for a smooth, warm and comforting scent. it has just the right amount of sweetness and none of the spices or the oud come off as sharp. i'm not sure what kind of occasion i would wear this for but it's still a want for me

Opens with a prominent bran note along with a more subtle iris & myrrh, and a distant elemi for me. I'm getting very little to no spices or vanilla in the opening, but once this fragrance starts to dry the spices definitely come out more. This is a very niche smell and for sure unique. Not sure' I'm a fan of the wheat-y part of the fragrance, but I could see this working for other people. You'll want to sample first

similar experience to the other reviewers, the opening is really good, soft, spicy, a bit lipsticky, but once it starts to dry down the bran note becomes more prominent, you either love it or not, just be warned that the bran note is pretty realistic, can't really attest for the performance yet however I expect it to be good based on my experiences from other offerings of the house

This is a sweet scent that smells very niche to me. The Elemi, Cardamom, Iris, Myrrh and Vanilla are the notes that stand out the most on my skin. It is very pleasant. The thyme add a slightly herbal/fresh aspect. The leather and Oud notes are very very soft. I like it very much, but I would prefer to smell this on a man. A well groomed, healthy, handsome man. Nice!

Smelling it for the first time I was sure for the fragrance to be coconut-forward, and then I look at the notes - no mention of coconut! I thought my nose played a trick on me. So it’s assuring to see I’m not alone lol. Overall very pleasant, soft, slightly sweet coconut-iris scent.

My bottle arrives Friday. Total blind buy. I will report back then. Tried it on skin. Has a more masculine opening and a more feminine drydown. Strong fragrance with good performances. I can't imagine how this would only last a few minutes like some people say. It's a nice scent.

Almond paste, toasted coconut, bitter grapefruit pith, tart lemon and a frankincense-type of dry, slightly medicinal tone. This changes from a gourmand reaaaally quickly into a citrus-medicinal scent on my skin but that opening is lovely. Probably a new best seller for the brand.

Like everyone else I was expecting spice and that's not what I got. More like a clean powdery floral vanilla scent. It's nice I guess, but does not match the name or bottle color. Leans feminine as well.
