Elixir Love

This is a Cherry fragrance that doesn't entirely follow the trend. It is neither super sweet, nor sour. It doesn't smell of candy or cough syrup, like so many cherry fragrances do. The lack of Cocoa, Rum or Almond notes, keep Elixir Love from smelling like so many other Cherry perfumes. The faintest whisper of Neroli and the use of deep dark Amarena Cherry instead of the usual peach, keep it from veering into the Gourmand territory or the fresh zone. I don't find this too similar to the original Elixir. They do share a powdery makeup vibe, and are long lasting with moderate projection. That is where the similarities end for me. Elixir is much better suited to cooler temperatures, while warmer temperatures bring forward the Cherry and Jasmine in Elixir Love, making it suitable for all year use. Powdery red Rose mingling with sultry Jasmine, enhanced by dark Cherry, grounded by sprinkling Oak Moss and Patchouli. Love! ❤️

This is definitely a rose fragrance, and one beautifully blended at that. It’s sweet without being cloying or dessert-like, mature without coming off dated and it happens to leave the creamiest, most delectable trail when you enter or leave a room. It’s my girlfriend’s current every day scent. I got it for her after she was taken by it while we were out browsing, and to be honest it didn’t come off as too special to me then. But the more I smell it, the better it gets. A little gem.

I am excited for this one! Hopefully she will be released soon, notes sound beautifull especially for autumn and winter!

It smells like sweet makeup. I really love it. The cherry is very faint.

Okay, I got today a sample along with a Sephora order and I tried it immediately. There is indeed cherry at the top, but more like the smell of crushed Amarena cherry, so definitely not a sweet one. Actually, the perfume is not sweet to me at all and I believe that the company made a good choice by launching it towards the end of summer, because it's does not feel like a summer fragrance whatsoever. Flowers are powerful and even a bit harsh, but I personally am okay with that, because I have a very dry skin that decomposes fragrances immediately, so this harsh floral character is quite toned down. I guess I will buy a small bottle from this new one, because I imagine that my autumn clothing will capture it nicely and it performs quite well on my skin (5-6 hours).

It’s a mature rose fragrance. I find it rich and creamy, reminds me of a quality cream, i think I had something like this at some point, or my mom did. It’s far from beast mode but lasts a few hrs. When I first tested it I noticed, that I could smell notes as per piramid. It started with rose, that at some point disappeared and then reappeared again. It’s sweet but not gourmand sweet. I like it but not my everyday affair.

A lovely cherry opening and a more basic perfumy dry down but I like this one! I feel like this is a bit of a more work appropriate version of the black Opium over red.

Opening was kind of weird, could not understand what the notes were, seemed kind of fruity. After that could see rose scent coming, not too boring rose scent. Kind of spicy too.

#firstimpressions If you follow my reviews you'll notice I really love cherry notes in any fragrance's. And I also avoid perfumes heavy in Neroli. The OG Elixir was a beautiful powdery floral sweet fragrance with a clean aesthetic. But it's sad that the neroli turned me off. So, when they released this dark red Flanker called love and I saw the cherry note in it, I knew I had to give this a chance. So, finally I got the chance to try this newly released fragrance and here I am with my thoughts about the smell. This is indeed a cherry heavy fragrance but it's not too sour or not too sweet, infact it's balanced and not overpowering. I loved how the neroli is toned down here and it disappears after 15-20 mins of spraying. The blending of Jasmine and Rose is really feminine and elegant. I must admit that the jasmine is more heavy here than the rose and the blending of Jasmine with Cherry is really exceptional. The drydown is kind of earthy because of the oakmoss and patchouli but it's not overpowering. Overall to my nose it's a nice sweet white floral fragrance with a fruity touch of cherry. It's perfect for the upcoming Fall and Winter. And it's inoffensive so it's perfect for all occasions and all situations. Projection is moderate and lasts around 7-8 hours. But I think it will perform better in winter. I will recommend this fragrance for those people who love white florals and cherries also those who loved the OG Elixir will also enjoy this.

Bottom notes are reminescent of baccarat rouge because of the oakmoss. Has slight black-opium-but-different vibes in the top, it's more grown up. The cherry isn't super sweet or medicinal. It's just perfect, really romantic and sexy. Wouldn't say it's super unique but it's different enought to warrant owning. I love black opium and bacarrat rouge but I never want to wear them anymore as they're too popular. If you're the same and want to hop on this cherry bandwagon, this is a good perfume for you. Might get this on Christmas sale as it's not too expensive either.

This is really quite beautiful, it's elegant but with a cheeky younger cherry twist. I have a sample and a rarely find samples project, probably because of the small nozzle so my hope would be a full bottle would reach out more. It sits quite close to the skin which is a shame but I do keep going back to nuzzle my nose in it. Does it stand out? No. But is it cute and flirty? I think so! Rose, cherry, jasmine, delicious. Edit: 30 mins later and it's very faint and just a generic cherry. Boooo.

How are people voting this as weak, I bet my life they ain't even tried it. Elie saab doesn't do weak fragrances, with expectation to the new girl of now rose petal, all the other ranges have crazy longevity. I really wish people would stop reviewing stuff they haven't tried. I for one cannot wait to add this to my entire Elie saab range. Then I'll come back and review it. 🥰

Some weirdos have marked this as smelling like ALL the cheap MissGuided scents. No way , as they.are all different styles for a start!! I've tried those MG ones BTW , awful nasty perfumes. So very unfair for people to be marking them as same. ... Like maybe this new perfume might smell like one of them, but not the whole set of 5. Ridiculous!!

I couldn’t detect the cherry note at all. I get a slight chemical smell in the open with mostly floral, and dries down to a sweet floral. Not to my taste. To me it smells like something a more mature lady would wear, would not blind buy like I did! Sample first.

my go-to vampy scent!! was not expecting to like this as i am not a fan of rose. but it works sooo well with cherries - who would've thought? absolutely love it, fresh and a little juicy

It opens very sweet but mature, sexy and bright! After an hour it gets more powdery, it’s like almost Narciso Rodriguez Poudree. Liked that, but nothing new or unique!

I would change the name to Royal Day or Royal Night. The ingredients are of good quality.
