Le Parfum Royal

“Sweet Golden Fruity Floriental” I really love this but somehow think it’s unimpressive at the same time? it’s quite sweet. smells like candied mandarin orange. not citrusy but candy mandarin. I don’t get much patchouli or woods, maybe just subtly in the far dry down. it’s mostly sweet mandarin & maybe a honey-sparkling type of floral nectar (that doesn’t come off particularly floral). Maybe the middle is a sweet mandarin rose but this doesn’t resemble roses to me at all. overall it’s wholly synthetic-artificial (as opposed to natural or realistic) and has great moderate longevity and sillage. this description might not sound positive but I totally love it and enjoy wearing Le Parfum Royal a lot. it feels sweet, joyful, easy going and fun to me. ps: I would not compare this to coco mademoiselle at all. I absolutely detest coco mad and love this. Le Parfum Royal is not that kind of dreadful bug spray patchouli, and I generally have a lot of difficulty liking anything patchouli heavy when it's a fruit-choli type of scent. also can’t explain why I think it’s not especially impressive, since I LOVE it. I guess because it’s not different or unusual but to be fair it’s unusually good so maybe I should just say it IS IMPRESSIVE 💛😊 EDIT: a reviewer up above this one mentioned Creme Brulee and I gotta agree. I've been wearing this about once per week the past couple months and now that the weather is a bit cooler I am seriously loving Le Parfum Royal! (AFTER it dries down) it reminds me of creme brulee with strawberries. Deliciously, sweet and fruity vanilla/amber oriental. PS: sometimes this smells like pina colada (pineapples & coconut). sometimes it smells like bananas. sometimes it smells like creme brûlée with canned mandarin oranges. it’s very fruity and creamy custard but not truly edible/gourmand, still perfumey.

Oh goodness, something about this is so Chanel-esque...I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. Maybe the type of patchouli and rose combined. This could easily pass for Chanel (which is fine, I'm not a follower of theirs necessarily, but I enjoy Chanel as much as the next person). I can get some mandarin if I concentrate, but really, what I smell in the opening is a sweet, fruity honeyed white wine. It's definitely syrupy, but not corn-syrupy or too cloying, although this is actually one fragrance that I probably would avoid in the summer (usually I don't worry about seasons), because it might become too heady and thick in the heat. The rose in this is gorgeous. It's a very cleaned up rose, with none of the dirty (which I love equally as much, and it's nice to have both) facets or rugged green aspects. The ambery richness really glosses over everything, and the patchouli is also the kind that isn't super earthy or unprocessed, nothing in here is "raw" or "rough", it's all quite balanced and nothing juts out at the nose. It creates a gorgeous bubble around you, and the longevity is quite good, you certainly get your money's worth. For all this, this doesn't smell pretentious or snooty, it smells like a graceful and compassionate woman. The keyword in this is *smooth*. This is a smooooth, blended, uptown, night out (or whatever, I don't think you should restrict yourself) perfume. I don't say this often, but this is totally, totally bougie. I don't always think that things like this suit me personally, but as I grow, I realize that it's important to have something like this around, and some clothes to match. Every lady deserves to feel the way this makes me feel every once in a while. It smells like white gold. Just...absofreakinglutely, fabulously fancy. 🌟

Like so many others in this thread, I blind bought a full bottle based on decent reviews and a generous sale price. I should start by saying that this is NOT a fragrance that I would usually go for. I tend to be a gourmand girl when it comes to cold weather fragrances. I usually don't like the way citrus performs on my skin. And I have a 50% success rate with patchouli. (There are some patchouli fragrances that I LOVE! And some that I HATE, specifically when ethyl maltol is in the mix). But I figured; "What the heck? If Elie Saab can produce something wonderfully nutty, sweet and floral like Girl Of Now, how bad could this Le Parfum Royal be?" And y'all. I actually REALLY love this. It's so different than anything else I own (granted, I don't own many rose fragrances). The mandarin mixes with the rose in a way that makes it juicy and jammy. Even with the amber and warm spices, it's not necessarily sweet. In my brain, roses are actually a touch savory and remind of tomatoes. Perhaps it is just the timing, but this really feels like a fragrance that I would smell an Italian family member wearing at a holiday party. (Italian Christmas Day dinners usually have lasagna, red sauces and soups and dark meats). And I guess it's worth noting that I get annoyed when the 'taste' of my gourmand perfumes clash with my meals. But I was able to cook up a storm and get beautiful wafts of this fragrance without a problem. Something about this perfume really does compliment the aromas of a fancy dinner party. It's floral, spicy, chewy, gamey and jammy like a purple petite sirah & petit verdot blended red wine. It's just lovely, perfect for cold weather and cozy family events. Not 'me' at all, but it may become a new signature anyway... Happy Holidays and New Year everyone :)

This is a fruity, expensive champagne. The rose, orange blossom and patchouli here make a sparkling unique composition. I would describe it as a floriental more than a chypre. To me it is ground-breaking like most Elie Saab fragrances. I honestly do not see anything like this around. Maybe in the style of My Burberry black and Coco noir but much more versatile. It would make an excellent signature. Perfect for all year round, day/night and every situation. The sweetness makes it playful and feminine while the rose give a classy, elegant touch. I see it on a strong, confident woman. Perfect for a lady boss. It does not have a large evolution to me but stay steady over time. I am 33 but I see this would be event better in a badass over 40. Not sure if I will repurchased it again when my bottle finishes but I will definitely come back to it when I get older. I feel like I am not mature (and maybe reach) enough for this since this expensive smelling gem does not fit my current lifestyle. Excellent performances. Stays days on clothes and at least 7-8 hours on the skin. I thought it had not a great sillage since after a while I have to come close to smell on myself until I decanted a small amount on a sprayed that was defective and leached. I entered the room where the container was inside a beauty and I could smell the perfume at least for 6 meters away. STUNNING.

This fragrance is a beast. I initially tried it first during the warmer days and instantly fell inlove with it. It was so unique, does not smell like anything I've ever tried before. I am really pick with my scents, rarely get amazed by anything, but this one went straight into my heart. It starts off really fresh and warm, opens with mandarin and a little of the roses, then it gets fresher and a little sour from the neroli and the patchuli I think, after 30-40 minutes the freshness setles down a bit, I can still detect the mandarin, but now the sandalwood and vanilla come into the game and this gets even better and better. It is warm and fresh at the same time, I get a little of the rose, but it is not too obvious that it makes it feel soapy or too powdery. It has very powerful presence, strong character, smells expensive, womanly, sexy, powerful, confident - everything I want to feel! It will become my new signature scent for sure, my previous one was Z&V This is her, and they are very different in their vibe, but still same in their uniqueness. This should get more attention from the perfumers world. Must try, not blind buy as it is specific.

I have been wearing this for a few days to give this elegant queen a full review. There is no denying the elegance of this gorgeous lady. She arrives to any party like a royal or rich woman: effortlessly and noticeable, without shouting or intentionally drawing attention to herself. The first blast is quite a sweet citrus, but that dissipates quickly. The dry down is a beautiful, refined patchouli and, though the notes do not state it, honey. The combination DOES smell expensive orange jellies AND a sweeter Black Orchid. This scent is a good, unique daily perfume that will not overwhelm and delights from start to finish. I do not get nuclear longevity or projection/sillage. In fact, the sillage is quite modest, even when I have oversprayed. While this does give a good 6 hours on clothes, it fades off rather quickly on skin. If it had better longevity, I think I would have found the holy grail of designer perfumes! It is still a worthy buy and just a stunning perfume in any collection.

Has this fragrance been discontinued because I no longer see it in the high street retailers? In any case, I have just sprung for another large bottle online - as large as I can find - because I love it so much. I know the notes say orange, but my overall experience is one of dried apricots, which I ate as a child and still love eating. While it smells great all year round, and is one I always get compliments for, to me it really comes alive in winter. I particularly love wearing it at Christmas time when the the rich apricoty fruitiness reminds me of eating dried fruits, nuts and dates during the festive season. On a personal note, I bought this as a blind buy because Elie Saab Le Parfum is one of my all-time favourites however it's nothing like the original. I got lucky with this one because I have also bought another more recent flanker without testing and was disappointed with that one. I advise testing before purchasing if you can because this isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I see lots of bad reviews. I will say something opposite. I bought this perfume after a couple of sniffs in a store and I must say for me is up there with the big brands. I am a Givenchy, Guerlain kinda girl and I love this perfume a lot. To me it is very floral and reminds me of Ralph Lauren Woman perfume which I adore and purchased my 3rd bottle recently. The Ralph one got me so many compliments... Ellie Saab Royal too. I wear them when I feel very girly... I am 49 now but was told I look 30 :). When I wear floaty floral dresses or just floaty feminine dresses... those 2 are my go to perfumes and I always have people sniffing around me at the office or on the street. I was wearing Ellie one and a male gay colleague at work came to where I was sat to sniff around and told me I always smell amazing. I think I am also into the honey smells and this is supposed to have honey in it. To me is a 10 out of 10, has great sillage and lasts well for 12 hours or more.

This is the perfume I've been eyeing on for years and finally been able to purchase it! First of all, from the box to the bottle, everything is so lovely about Elie Saab Le Parfum Royal. From the box alone, you can already smell it. That's a first time encounter for me. The scent is my absolute love! It's a combination of candied mandarin oranges, jammy rose and amber, strengthened by patchouli. Royal, true to its name. The performance is amazing as well. This stayed on my dress even after laundered. Also on the day I wore this, the scent transferred to the top I changed into, 8 hours after I sprayed it and it lingered on this top too. Please, don't blind buy this, especially if you think this will be closely-related to Elie Saab Le Parfum (original) because they don't. Either get a sample or get a decant of its dupe, Lattafa Mazaaji, to test it on yourself first. But if you love Chanel Coco Mademoiselle like I do, you'll enjoy this one too.

This is a beautifully done sweet mandarin orange floating in a rose and vanilla syrup, poured in an earthenware bowl and stirred with a spoon of sandalwood. It’s feminine but not girly, powerful without being rude. It’s beautifully balanced. Chypre style perfumes tend to be very hit or miss on me and this one is definitely a hit. The perfume starts out green and woodsy with a hit of citrus, and everything comes together within just minutes. The roses bloom all at once, bolstered by the woods, patchouli, and amber in the base equally. I can see it doing very well in all seasons, but it is certainly an evening perfume. I’m wearing it on a warm summer evening, sitting outside on my porch with a glass of highly-rated white wine as I watch the golden hour light filter through the trees. Who wouldn’t feel royal wearing this?

Orange juice, from concentrate. The opening is like candied orange peels with a small dose of patchouli in the base, rose is round and watery sweet. I like it. After the opening, the patchouli disappears and it straight up smells like deep, sugary orange jellies - the gourmet ones that are shaped like orange slices, with a lovely, watery rose boosting the jelly-like quality of the orange. Le Parfum Royal is the more youthful, playful version of Coco Mademoiselle that is easier on the patchouli and much stronger on a candy-like, sweet orange. After a long, long time, the very last bit of the dry-down is reminiscent of a fruitier Black Orchid. For me, it would be good for summer days on a yacht, but it's beautiful in the cooler weather as well. Projection and longevity are beastly for a Western brand as well.

Blind buy as it was on a discount, my best blind buy so far! 😍 At first spray the citrus notes are very outstanding, but the rose note is also noticeable. It dries down to a more dominant smell of roses mixed with woody, warm notes, and in my opinion slightly spicy. In the end there is a wonderful mix of wood, roses and a hint of vanilla that gives it a light, powdery scent, not to sweet. The wooden notes makes it more elegant. The sillage is not to heavy but stay on your skin for a loong time... This is a scent for a lady, at least I feel like a woman with style and class who takes most things with a raised calm and a cool smile. Daytime, nighttime, or at work doesn't matter. I just love this scent, it makes you feel just - royal

Happy new year everybody! This is something to talk about. Mark my words. No matter if you love it or not, Maia Lernout is the next big thing in perfumery. Congratulations Maia. Saab Royal is luxurious and longlasting. It is the first truly longlasting scent with an interesting evolvement in the mass market, in quite a while. It is a Shallimar and a Poison of the 20's. I prefer the trail on the clothes the next day than the opening, but that has always been the case with my fav perfumes. At last a perfume that doesn't scream synthetic. At last, not a perfume for bubbly fashionistas of the instagram. This is for women who know what inreallife used to mean.

Blind buy in a half price sale. I already have Love in White & the original Le parfum. I can sort of see a mild resemblance to the original. I don't really get any mandarin, on me it's rose, neroli, patchouli & vanilla, very balanced classy kind of smell, I can see why others have mentioned Coco Mademoiselle but I prefer this 'cos it's just a little bit of a twist on it. I think this will be a nice everyday scent. The vanilla is described on the box as 'leathery' but it's v subtle. This one deserves more love.It's really beautiful. Have only had it for a day n it's an instant favourite. Will probably get a back up once I've sold something else..

Elie Saab Le Parfum is my ride or die fragrance. Never wanted to try the flankers up until i saw a second hand bottle with a crazy deal, so i just bought it without any expectations. Initial spray is candied oranges, i was afraid this one’s gonna be a gourmand. But after awhile, my God this is so beautiful. I didn’t expect the “expensive” smell coming. I got sweet, woody, rosy almost masculine in a pretty way. I’m not saying it’s a masculine fragrance. But i picture a bold, strong, stylish lady and she’s rich when smelling this perfume. Makes me wanna bath myself with this perfume. Well i guess it’s another ride or die perfume for me.

This beauty is a full-bodied love. This is a very unique expression of feminine depth - a one of a kind perfume. The rose is very dewy and sweet. The patchouli is very lush and alive - not dry, at all. There are elements that remind me of Black Orchid but this is denser and more feminine. Royal is a beast that will not disappoint in longevity. When I sampled it, I sprayed it on paper and what a delightful bomb it was. I kept getting waves of it in my living room weeks later and after a month there was still good dose of creamy vanilla. This fragrance feels a lot bigger and more complex than the notes would lead you to believe.

Not similar to le parfum original, it’s imo better than the others flankers, more elegant and the citrus it’s sweet not sour lemonade kind. It’s pure mandarin oranges. I don’t get so much roses in here, it’s like vaguely mixed with the patchouli which is lovely. And the dry down it’s gorgeous vanilla. I don’t agree that is for winter/autumn only, am wearing it on summer and it’s working beautifully, maybe not for >30*C but in Europe the summer can get really fresh sometimes and it’s perfect for 20 something degrees C. Obviously autum/winter works to, I’m just thinking it’s all year around kind of fragrance. 10/10

A Stunner.... Smells expensive, chic, ultra classy and yet feminine. This scent has warmth to it, so wear it in cold weather. Performance is great with good projection, good for a designer scent. The lady who wears this is well put together, she doesn't chew gum, rich yet caring and flirty. When she walks she gets attention and turn heads. Men want to wife her and other women are underneath jealous of her. It's the lady who wears Elie Saab designs. Edit: The best part is the opening, its a stunner... but quickly becomes a bit more woody or patchouli like and loses the honey on top. Still a great classy perfume.

Luxurious orange-rose syrup. This is a delicious, rich orange and rose syrup drizzled on a balanced amber-patchouli base. I adore the fact that ES respects his Lebanese heritage and it shows in all his perfume creations. Zuhorat and maward (orange blossom and rose extract) are heavily used in Lebanese sweets and even added to drinking water. The gardens are full of roses, jasmine and fenced with patchouli shrubs. In the countryside you’ll be surrounded by orange groves as well as almond and pistachio trees. These are the ingredients in most of his perfumes. LPR is Majestically bright, fragrant and sweet. 💕

This is a love. The original Elie Saab is one of my favorites, and this quickly is becoming another. To me, this is a blast of orange, and that note is what I get strongest in the dry down with a bit of sandalwood and rose. I definitely get a bit of the original DNA. It is refined, luxe, and expensive smelling without feeling too fancy-it's one I would still wear daily. The only thing disappointing is (maybe I'm just an outlier) is the projection. Longevity was great but I felt this was more of a skin scent on me, which is interesting because the original performs super strong and fills a room.

On initial spray this gives the impression of having rubbed your wrists with a lemon wedge, but after a few minutes I was sniffing myself like a bloodhound. The citrus accord truly cannot be overstated; on the other hand, if you give it time to meet with the middle and base notes you'll find it melts into this woodsy vanilla that I cannot get enough of - and there's something about it that brings to mind champagne as well? This would be suitable for the office but could easily be an after-hours scent too, in fact it's pretty seductive in my opinion.

I absolutely LOVE Royal. Is a very dense fragrance and my skin pulls off a coconuty kinda smell. I don’t get not even a bit of roses - so if rose put you off try this one. Another thing, I don’t think it resembles not even a bit L’Interdit or Coco Mademoiselle. The only resemblance is the density and richness they all have AND the strong Patchouli, witch I absolutely adore. Longevity is pretty good. 8 hours later and I can smell it on my skin. Oh I love this purfume. As well as all the other Elie Saab purfumes. I wear this one in Winter. Its a great scent for the cooler months and even a great evening smell too as it's so bold and sexy! A great compliment getter. I would receive so many compliments from wearing this, even from strangers. It was recommended to me by a sales rep from Myer when it first came out a few years back. I'm so glad I was introduced to this amazing purfume. I will be purchasing again when my bottle runs out

I LOVE this! The dominant notes with my chemistry are rose, sandalwood and amber. The Patchouli is definitely there but more in the background, as is the vanilla. Present but not overpowering, just adding a roundness to the mix. Orange and neroli give this a delightfully fresh twist. Such a beautifully blended fragrance. It stays with you for a long time too. I sprayed it last night and can still smell it on my skin now. I'm still to find a fragrance from this house that I don't like!

Reaching in the back of my armoire I pulled this gem out! As a reviewer below stated sweet creamy rose and that it is! I love this for the winter season as it projects beautifully in the cold! Once dry down happens I can see where some get it can morphe into PR Fame. At first I did not like it but after waiting for cooler weather it has now become a fave. Recommended 8/10. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

This is pure luxury. I looove this one. I tried a sample and I immediately spotted patchouli with rose and strong mandarin opening. Then I was getting honey, lots of honey and I think that it ́s ambra + vanilla + neroli. It doesn ́t remind me of Dior MP, though. For me, it has the same ,punch ́ as original BVLGARI Jasmine Noir, but it smells different. A slightly heavy, but luxurious, beautiful scent. LOVE!

Creamy, sweet rose on a woody base with a slight tang. it reads as an expensive hair conditioner and I LOVE IT. It's clean girl vibes with a bubbly personality. this works the best in cold weather as everything blends into a lovely balance of fresh, floral and vanilla. I spray it on my arms and not on my neck because of its potency. I get whiffs of this beauty for hours. A total hit for me <3

Probably the first Ellie Saab Le parfum flanker I would consider buying! It’s very elegant without and classy without being old fashioned and white-floral heavy like all the other Le parfums. I had the OG Le parfum and gave it away. I just couldn’t stand it and it gave me a major headache every time I wore it. Since then I’ve stayed away from this line. Happy to find a flanker that I like.

Wow, I disliked this on paper but love it on skin! On my skin,this is a beautiful, deep dark rose with whispers of coconut in it. Sort of gives me Crystal Noir vibes, but more mature and sophisticated because of the rose. The patchouli in this perfume is gentle and intriguing, not masculine at all. Even in hot weather, this perfume is lovely and not patchouli heavy.

Sweet, dry woods, just keeps getting better and better and more addictive as it drys down. Definitely has that gorgeous honeyed orange blossom note from le parfum. I get a sort of watery note, maybe the citrus? Stunning and very classy. If you’re hesitant, definitely test on your skin and allow a good 30 mins.

Very chic and expensive smelling. The dry down is rich and creamy with the sandalwood, patchouli, amber, and vanilla. I have had someone say it's too strong for them when I wore it, but mostly positive feedback. It is more for me that I wear fragrance anyways and I feel luxurious when I wear this one.

I don't know if it's just me, but the notes of this fragrance kinda don't represent it at all (Maybe just the roses). This smells very similar to Rabbane Fame while it dries down. I really liked this one it doesn't smell like anything mainstream in terms of female fragrances.

A love...it depends all on your chemistry...on me you can smell like a bitter sweet orange with a slight of rose, it performs, is longlasting..this is another grab and go for me, just loveeee it.. and never have I got 3, 4 compliments in 5 minutes!

Adsolutely beautiful perfume! Quality!! It lasts the ENTIRE day into evening with a strong projection. I think this is more of a winter scent than summer as quite strong and somewhat sweet. Not a safe blind buy but is deffinately worth a try.

i really really love this perfume, its very strong orange + patchouli and u can smell the rose after, it smell pretty strong and beautiful! It just like the name “Royal” so fancy and smells so unique for me 🩷

Honesty, one of my favourites! Longevity lasts 6-8 hours and will last longer with a touch up and wears better in cooler weather. Sillage is enormous and I receive a lot of compliments wearing it!

It's like a toned down version of Nuit Noor, in a very pleasant way though. Easy to wear, not harsh nor offensive at all. Performance is impressive like the others in the line.

An exquisite, bold, warm and earthy fragrance with a hint of citrus and rose. It is more like a boss lady and girls' night out fragrance. A perfect Autumn and Winter frgrance.

All I can think of is my trip to Bulgaria year ago, having my favorite dessert Rose Loukhoum in a Ski Resort Bansko wearing my cashmere sweater by fireplace.

Very, very disappointed. I honestly don't think there was enough of anything to dislike it. I LOVE the other Saab perfumes, sadly a blind buy gone wrong.

Sweet rose, sweet patchouli, one spray is enough. Perfect for November, cool winds and humid air. I love it very much, a compliments getter.

The best patchouli-dominant perfume I have ever smelled. Such a unique, sweet, elegant scent.

Woooow. Sexy. But doesn't smell like a Le Parfum flanker. It's almost an entirely new pillar. I get a STRONG Black Orchid note. I wasn't expecting it at all; I was just trying out the different Le Parfum flankers and sprayed this one on, and was a little surprised. Yum! It's a much more wearable, less headache inducing, rounder Black Orchid. I have the actual Black Orchid, and while I love it too, it's a little "much" and really is quite an occasion-type scent. This one is rounder, creamier, nuttier (not sure why, lol), SWEETER, and more feminine. Black Orchid is pretty unisex. Comparisons aside, this is a sexy, bold, patchouli-heavy chypre scent. Bold, sexy, confident. Where Le Parfum OG was sweet, girly, and innocent, this one's a woman not afraid to be noticed. --- I went back to the store to try it on my skin AGAIN, and yes. Still strong Black Orchid vibes at first spray. When it settles onto the skin, it becomes more of a nutty-patchouli, whereas Black Orchid dries spicy-floral. Excellent projection and longevity. In the end I decided not to purchase this, because while it's gorgeous and sexy, it doesn't feel "me". It feels like a confident woman in a power suit with sharp shoulders. If you like this, give Darcy by Parfums de Marly a shot as well.

I have tested it in perfume store, I was heard that this perfume inspired by "Princess Haya bint Al Hussein" , so I was curious to know this fragrance.This Perfume very suitable for a special occation, or needs a diffrent specific mode to wear it or needs woman love the heavy strong perfumes. This perfume not sharp but it has unique, rare, majestic and very strong mature dry down. Patchouli here is not noisy, but well mixed with Amber and other ingrediants, you will get intensive luxury fragrance. This perfume deserve it's name "Royal". Sure it's lasts long. I purchased this alongside Le Parfum Essential. Gorgeous classy bottles as I would expect from this fashion house. I have since given away Essential and kept Royale to myself. At initial spray during warm weather it was overwhelmingly sweet and almost pungent, with a synthetic balsamic vinegar like note in there, but wearing it now during cooler weather I find it alluring . A younger me could not carry this, but in my 30s, this puts me in a confident and sensual mood. I am starting to enjoy the mixture of heady heirloom roses dipped in honey and the sharp, never ending patchouli. It smells better on my skin than on clothing where the dry down is a sophisticated amber vanilla. The name definitely suits. Did not think this was office appropriate but I did wear it out to work and received many compliments on the " candy smell" wafting from my person. No one picked up on the roses, which is very prominent to my nose and that's fine. Reserving this for evening wear. A definite like.
